Yes, there is a difference. GCM is an authorized gift card seller. The reseller websites are just middlemen for people who have GCs to sell and people who want to purchase them at a discount.

I haven't had this happen to me. I stopped using GC resellers like Cardpool quite a while ago when the discounts got kind of pitiful IMO. From what I've read from other people who were banned (not just flagged) on target .com, they had the same thing in common...they used GCs that they had purchased from a reseller. The theory is that the seller of those GCs had been banned by Target (and the GCs were associated with the banned account). The banned seller dumped their GCs on the resale market and it resulted in the buyers also getting banned when they attempted to use them online.

Like you, I would be reluctant to send that info via fax.

Do you think I'll have a problem using these Cardpool GCs at the B&M Target store? If they are flagged, will I have a problem checking out at the register? I might stop by CS and see if they will combine my cards into one new card before getting in line to buy Southwest cards. Ugh, this is so stressful. I'm so mad that I used Cardpool. I had a 5% off code from them on top of their 6%, so I decided to try them. Boy, do I regret that!!

Well, since i was banned from Target, i decided to buy a Disney gift card from an idividual at Ebay. Seller had 100% positive feedback. When the card came, the back was scratched off and the card was invalid. Ebay refunded my money.

Thanks....I'll report back how it goes at the B&M Target today. I'm anxious to see if I can use my Red Card or if that is flagged (banned?) as well. We shall see....

Fitnessmouse, were you one of the ones who Target banned earlier in the thread? Did they offer you to have it reviewed with items faxed to them (SScard, DL and Utility bill)? Have you given up on the GC churn completely? Can you still buy in the store? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm a bit freaked out over it all.

I haven't called back about my status. I think I will buy Target cards from GCM on Ebay when they have bonus bucks and convert them in store. Will lose the 5% redcard discount, unfortunately.

To date, I have ordered and received $27,000 worth of Disney Gift cards from Target, ordered in the space of less than two months. Each time I added a small item to the $500 gift card order, so that Ebates would give me cashback. Each time I paid in full with Target gift cards, and got the Red card discount. I've also placed lots of orders where I use small denomination Target GC's to buy larger value ones. I've never been flagged, or had any orders cancelled.
So i'm wondering, is this a problem with cards bought from certain resellers, Ebay related, or am I really that lucky compared to some of you who have been banned for far smaller orders? It's pretty crazy, if they're targeting people randomly!

From what I have read here, I think a majority of the people who were banned (this is probably back 10-20 pages or so on this thread) had been buying from Gift Card Zen. I don't really know how these gift card sites work, so I'm not sure if someone had a "bad batch" of stolen gift cards or something, and anyone using those got flagged, or what.

I just got back from HEB and the app coupon would only give me one card for 80.00. I called corporate about it. The person I spoke to said they are working on it and would call me back and let me know. I also questioned the wording on the coupon. The poor store manager was just as confused as I was. It should have worked.

It does look like they just changed it. I went this morning and picked up 6 in one transaction and the coupon worked unlimited. I know some people were saying the coupon was down for a bit and then it came back online just before noon. I appears they took it down to limit it.

Big family vacation for 12 people this year - I took the balance due, and did the discounted gift card thing, and made back $3000 in extra funds for spending money for everyone. I kept a spreadsheet of everything, and paid off the balance on the 4 bookings we have, in $1000 GC increments, as I got them.

Definitely lucky to have flown under the radar with that one. People have gotten banned for a lot less. I worry about rolling $450 per month! Sounds great that you were able to get so many together for a cruise though!
