If a gift card was purchased using a fraudulent credit card and then sold on a site like Cardpool or Raise, even if you transfer the balance to a new Target card, then they can still drain the balance once they have traced the funds. They can't do this if the funds have been spent on merchandise, including other gift cards (like Disney, eBay, etc.). I wrote about this a few pages back because it happened to me with Cardpool and Crate and Barrel gift cards.

They did. But it took a lot of effort on my part because I had already transferred money between a bunch of cards and intermixed funds that were discounted with funds that were gifts from others for housewarming, birthday, etc. When the consolidated cards got disabled, all of the funds on the cards, regardless of where the funds originally came from, where gone. So I had to work with Cardpool on the refund, but I also had to work with Crate on Barrel regarding the other "good" funds that were on the cards. All told it probably took 1 month to get it all worked out. Such a headache.

Hooray! All in one day I was able to:

1. purchase electronic Target gift cards through Carpool @ 6.7% off
2. Buy eBay gift cards through Target.com with 5% Redcard discount and activated eBates discount (added a blanket that was on sale)
3. Use the eBay cards to buy Target gift cards on eBay (gift card mall) with 5x eBucks ($30 in eBucks redeemable in January)

When the Target cards arrive in the mail I will use them on Target.com to buy either Disney or Southwest gift cards with the 5% Redcard discount.

I have to admit that I'm a bit worried after reading the past few pages. How many of you have had problems with the gift cards you buy on places like raise.com?

I buy from Cardpool mainly and Raise sometimes. I have only had three that didn't work right. Two of those where only because they were older and had to reactivated or something by cardpool, the third one from Raise just had the balance at zero, so I was refunded.

really only thing is max 100 ebay bucks per order, so no more than $1000 and max 500 ebay bucks in a calendar quarter.

I'm having problems with security at Cardpool.com. I purchased a 50 dollar target card separately, using 3 different email accounts so I could use the NewUser5 promo. I didn't know that they would have to call to verify each transaction on a new account. I'm not near a phone for a large part of the day, so they cancelled two of the transactions. I called them back on the 3rd transaction and got it approved and was told that further purchases on that account would be approved automatically. I wanted $950 of target gift cards and purchased them test. I got an email tonight that the transaction had been cancelled. If I can't get a customer rep to approve the purchase of $950 of target GC tomorrow, I'll make sure that all transactions with them are cancelled and buy from RAISE

I also had that issue with Cardpool. I made a 250 ish purchase and got a phone call to verify, then made a 800$ order and they called to verify again! I missed the call because I work night shift and it has been a week. I decided not to deal with it again and am going to wait for a Cardcash deal.

It worked for me; $10 eBay Bucks per $100 Target GC. Did you click on the link to activate the 5x bonus for your eBay account?

Crazy. Yeah, I can purchase other items that show the 5x but when I go into the giftcardmall Target listings it shows a max of .50 in Ebay bucks regardless of card value or number of cards.
