Disney Gift Card Deals

The Kroger I went to today only had $25 Target gift cards and I bought 14 of them. I guess I'll be spending some quality time with the Target app tonight!

Well, it finally happened; $500 of unactivated Disney GCs from Target. I'm getting the run around on who should be activating them. For those of you with the same problem, who resolved your issue for you? It's amazing how incompetent the Target Customer Service people are! I wish I had filled out the dozens of satisfaction surveys I received instead of deleting them.

Had this problem once. Target manager handled it for me in less than 10 minutes. They had to call disney to complete it.

Disney told me to call Target. Target told me to call Disney; then when I told them Disney said they should handle it, he said someone else at Target needs to handle it and they are not in today. I guess I will be starting all over tomorrow.

it is a target issue, however, the first person i talked to at target tried to make it work so many times without it being activated that disney locked the card. That's when target called disney and got it unlocked. Target ultimately activates it.

Before I mess up the "combine gift card" option on the gift card website, if you delete a card so that you can add a card to the primary to reach $1000, what happens to the deleted card?

You just don't see it in your account. The money stays on the GC and it is still usable.

You're in Richmond, right? I had the same problem at the W Broad St location. I don't have a smart phone (gasp!), so I purchased several $100 Dis gift cards in separate transactions. Check your receipt to ensure you actually received the 4x. They were having problems with the coupon on Friday, and I only received 2x (I had to call to get the remainder added).

I had this happen a few months ago. This is the # for the "gift card team:" 800-544-2943. Ask for a gift card supervisor. My contact was Valerie (ID# 473355) at the previous #. She was fabulous and activated the cards right away. PITA! Good luck!

Yes--the one with the gas station near Sam's Club not the one across from the mall. I did get the 4x fuel points luckily. I have had to call before and they always fix it, but it's been an ordeal.

Yep - thats the one I went to. I took the last $100 card and a bunch of $25's. That was Saturday, so I'm glad they had some left for you.

I just bought $350 worth of Disney gift cards from Target. I threw in a pack of underwear for DS and got ebates on the whole purchase--basically got the underwear for free! And my August 2016 cruise is about 60% paid for which is a little ahead of schedule

I had this happen just recently and the others are right, it is a target issue. I spent a lot of wasted time on the phone. You have to call during the mon-fri hours that Disney is open so Target supervisor can contact Disney directly. Fortunately the very last person I talked to offered to call me back when it was taken care of. They need to know the entire card number from you to activate it in Disney's system, not the barcode number that I was told the first time. Then after they contact Disney and get it into their system, you will be transferred to the gift card people at target who will then activate it in their system. I only had one $100 card like this out of $20,000. If I had gotten as many as you did, I would be really upset. Someone isn't doing their job, for sure when packing up the cards to be mailed out. I had to keep really careful records to make sure I got all of my target cards which I turned into ebay cards which I turned into target cards which I turned into Disney cards. A lot of work, but well worth it! Huge savings and we have our 6/16 14 days cruise paid for. Put the cards into my disney vacation account to take advantage of the $20 for each $1000. It may seem like a small return, but any return from Disney is a plus to me!

We used to just use the target and pharmacy rewards but the target pharmacy stopped. So now we need to have our vacation paid for at the end of September and are looking for any ways to save more than the %5 target redcard discount.

You have just over 3 weeks if Sept. 30 is your deadline. That doesn't give you much turnaround time. If you're willing to take a chance, then your best hope for a discount greater than 5% would be to purchase discounted Target electronic GCs on a website like cardpool. Then use those Target GCs in combination with your REDCard discount on Target .com to purchase Disney physical GCs.

You would need a $95 Target GC for every $100 in Disney GCs that you purchase. Your effective discount would depend on how good of a deal you found on the website that sold the Target GC to you.

If you choose to do this, you will need to get busy. Target can take a week or more to get the Disney GCs delivered. And then, there's always the possibility that one or more of the cards that you order could arrive without having been activated. Someone who has the luxury of time may be more willing to take that risk, knowing that they have the time needed to iron out the problem with Target before their vacation rolls around. But, having said that, I have never received a Disney GC from Target that was not activated. I'm just throwing the warning out there for you so that you go into the process with your eyes open.

Well it doesn't save as much, I found the simplest way is to buy target gift card through rates.com then use those to buy Disney gift cards from target.com (allows you to use gift card and get red card discount). Think this way I've gotten about 10-12% off. I was a first timer at this and the process took about a week. I truly admire the others who do ebates, etc. this just got me the savings I needed in the time frame I was looking for.

I just received the GCs I purchased from Target's site & have no experience with this bc I've always bought the GCs in the store already activated. I was under the impression that cards that are purchased online are never activated but after reading some of the comments on here, I guess it could go either way. At least now I know who to call to get them activated before my upcoming trip the end of this month!
