Disney Gift Card Deals

MyPoints is crediting for GC purchases on Target .com. At least they have pending points in my account for the purchase I made at the beginning of the week. It's only .07%, but it's better than the "nothing" that other rewards programs are giving right now.

BTW, for those purchasing Target GCs at a discount from Raise, ebates is giving 1% back on Raise purchases right now.

One other step you can try is sign up for topcashback.com and go through them to buy your target gift cards from cardpool and raise. Cardpool you get 2% and Raise you get 1%. SOme have reported not getting their cash back every time, but I have had no issues.

Sunshine Rewards (http://www.sunshinerewards.com/) also offers 1% back on purchases at Raise, Cardpool and Cardcash. I usually check all three sites to see which has the best discount on Target cards before purchasing.

A heads up for those of you with ATT Uverse: I got a spam-looking message today "Here's your free reward - just for being a UVERSE member" and it's a link to HIP Rewards. Never heard of it before. However you get a code for 15 credits - which you can redeem for $15.00 in target e-giftcards. Thought this might help someone! And if you don't want to use your code feel free to PM it to me :cutie:

Anyone have the Prepaid Red (not Debit) that is sold in some states? Wondering if it will give 5% off your giftcards online as well when combined with target giftcards.

The target prepaid redbird was initially not being recognized as a red card online for 5% off anything. You had to call in which made it difficult to use the gift card loophole. About a month ago mine mysteriously started being recognized as a red card. I'm not sure if this is the case with all Redbirds and they are all now recognized, but mine now works. You can try yours by putting something in your cart and see f they give you the discount.

Problem is I don't have a partial (or any target giftcard) that I can try this on to get a Disney GC. I will have to try it soon.

Well, I am very disappointed to find out from Ebates, after I purchased several thousand dollars worth of Target gift cards, that they are excluded from the 2% rebate. Oh, that really makes me mad  . That 2% equaled a lot of extra money for me! EEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!

Gift cards from Target have always been excluded from cash back on Ebates. Some people got it by chance but I don't think anyone ever expected it.

Okay, thank you to everyone for helping me sort my mess out. I called Target and I can return the gift cards I purchased that they charged to my credit card instead of using my gift card.
Did Target let you return these Disney gift cards that you bought online?

I'm in Florida. The pre paid Red bird is not available here but I did have a friend in Indiana pick up a couple for for me and DH to use when we could load with credit cards. I just did a quick test now to see if it would give me the discount online and it is working. So maybe that glitch has been fixed.

We didn't get the message......was it in your email or spam mail?

It was in my regular email - I just get so many offers from AT&T I normally delete their messages which is why I wanted to post the heads up! The email didn't mention why I got the reward - who knows. Hopefully you get one soon too!

My first (and largest!) Disney gift card purchases using the methods in this thread also didn't get credit through Ebates. Then I was ordering a baby shower gift and, finding a high percentage on raise.com, decided to throw in a couple of gift cards for myself. Got an email from Ebates the next day confirming my 2% cashback on the entire purchase, including the gift cards. Since then, I've always added a small ($5.00 or less) item, usually a clearance tank top to wear to WDW, to my GC purchase and I've gotten full credit with Ebates ever since.

A few questions for you experts:

1. Can you combine Disney gift cards from Target? The highest value I have seen at Target for the Disney gift cards is $50 -- so if I bought several thousand dollars worth of $50 gift cards, that would be a lot of gift cards -- which I guess wouldn't be a huge problem, except my plan is to use them to pay for a Disney cruise, so I would be reading gift card numbers to the travel agent for a long time. I think that one way people have suggested combining the gift cards is the Disney Vacation Club, which brings me to the next question:

2. Can I use the Disney Vacation Club to pay for a cruise of we have used Costco as the travel agent? I remember reading about some problems with the Disney vacation Club but that was a while ago -- haven't had a trip to pan for several years, but now I need to start paying attention here!

Thanks!

ETA one more question: I notice that at least some of you are buying physical gift cards from sites like giftcardrescue -- I am wondering if it's better to order the physical cards or if electronic gift cards would also work to order from target.com? The physical cards have a fee to ship if you want tracking . . .

The DVC is Disney's timeshare. You're probably thinking of the DVA (Disney Vacation Account). You can combine your GCs there and then use the account number to pay for select Disney expenses.

GCs purchased at Target can also be combined with each other on the disneygiftcard .com website. You will need to create an account in order to do it. My personal experience is that Disney GCs purchased from different merchants (Target, Staples, Acme, etc) cannot be combined with each other. You can have up to 5 GCs registered with your account at a single time but once a GC has been zero'd out by combining its value on another GC, you can then delete the zero-value GC.

2. Can I use the Disney Vacation Club to pay for a cruise of we have used Costco as the travel agent? I remember reading about some problems with the Disney vacation Club but that was a while ago --
Again, I'm going to assume that you're talking about the DVA and not DVC. DVC members can use their points to book cruises, but I don't think that's the question you're asking here.

You can combine all of your GCs in a DVA and use it to pay for your cruise. However, you would need to be the one who makes the payment. One of the rules that they can be pretty strict about is that you are not supposed to share your account number with anyone. Some TA's don't want the responsibility of knowing what your DVA # is. Others don't seem to have an issue with accepting it and using it for payment on your behalf. It is definitely a case of YMMV.

1-YES! go to Disneygiftcard dot com. You can combine up to $1000 on each card. The problem is you have to load 5 to combine, then delete off the 4 with the zero balance.....then load 4 more, combine, delete the zero balance cards.....you can only have 5 gift cards on there at a time.
2-I do not know the answer to this one.
PS, I order the Target cards from Raise and I've also ordered from giftcardbin. Both times they were e-gift cards. Then I go to Target dot com to order my disney gift cards. I have received physical disney gift cards each time I've ordered.....i didn't see where I could request a disney e-gift card from Target.

They may give you a courtesy credit, but the email should say you shouldn't have earned ebates because what you bought was excluded. I personally wouldn't request a credit for something I shouldn't have received in the first place.
Given that Target classifies them as "entertainment cards" not "gift cards" I assumed that they would be allowed. If they don't, they don't. I wasn't asking for credit for purchasing Target gift cards - which is a bit strange when you know that Ebates does grant cashback for gift card purchases from Raise.com.

Forget what Target "classifies" them as. Unless eBates automatically credits your purchase, the first thing that they are going to see when you submit a trouble ticket is that it is a Disney Gift Card purchase. That will be the end of that. They don't give credit for GC purchases from Target and under their rules, it doesn't matter that it's not a store GC.

They offer cash back for Raise GC purchases because that's what Raise sells. Totally and completely different kind of merchant.
