Disney Gift Card Deals

Question for the experts: I'm new to the Target/Disney 5% off and I took the leap today and bought the discounted Target e-giftcards, used those to purchase a $50.00 Disney Card from Target.com. I have my Target Red Card set as my default payment. I didn't see the 5% applied at checkout. Does this appear after the order has been processed? I feel like I did something wrong. Help!

Thanks!

Just headed to Target today (in person) and purchased gift cards. Has anyone ever had problems with inactive cards when buying them in-store? Is it worth checking the balance on each one?

I always check the balance on each one no matter where I get it. Better safe than sorry.

Mine comes Tuesday..I hope it's not inactive. I got my Disney $200 gc from Disney visa today... I called and they said it was $200... So yay...
But that's what makes me nervous about buying an e gift card for Landry s from target. Stupid question. ..You can make sure an a gift card is active right?

For those of you buying target gift cards at Cardpool and Raise:
Before going to either of those sites, I go to topcashback.com, which links to both of those sites. They pay 1% of what you spend at Raise and 2% at Cardpool. It takes between 3-5 weeks for that money to become available; that should be enough time from the time from final payment to Disney for a park vacation.

What I just found out today is that while they will pay you your money either via Paypal or directly to your bank, you can earn a 2.5% bonus on that amount and get an Amazon Gift Card claim code. (basically and e-gift card). It's not much, but it's something. And while Amazon does not sell Disney gift cards (sigh), you can use that money toward a Prime Pantry purchase for your hotel stay.

I'm psyched.

Just be aware that if you read the fine print, topcashback and shopathome will only give you .5% percent back if you buy target GCs (this does fluctuate but is never the full amount advertised). Also, raise will only give you cash back on your first $1k of cards purchased no matter who you go through. For me, it was worth it to click but ended up cutting cash back out of my budget. I only ended up getting like $6 back which is better than nothing but wasn't what I expected on a $3k vacation.

On topcashback I always received 1% on Raise for Target GC's and 2% back on Cardpool for Target GC's, it never fluctuated. Both stores do have a $1000 lifetime cap, but I spent $1004.17 at cardpool and got $20.08 back. So, they did give me the rebate on the extra $4.

For some reason, Topcashback has never worked for me when going through them to buy from Cardpool. It records the click, but never records the purchase, and they don't do missed cashback claims for Cardpool. And it's not because I hit a limit, I've never had cashback work when buying gift cards. I stopped bothering to try.

I've not had any luck with Topcashback either. Since May I've bought several gift cards from Raise (Bath & Body Works, Old Navy, Target) and my balance at Topcashback is 0.

I have only had luck having the discount applied IF the giftcard does not cover the entire purchase price and then the Target Red is checked as the default for the balance...EXAMPLE:

Target gc amount is $97., I place $100 in Disney GC in the basket and apply giftcard.
Says I have a $3. balance to pay, I choose Target Redcard to pay balance
Next page takes the 5% discount, I press and complete the order....Total $95 deducted from Target giftcard.

Next time I order I have a $2. balance on a gift card,

I have a $25 Target gift card. Can I take that to the store and buy a Disney card? I see a lot of people order them on line; is this better than going to the store? (I shop at the store reguarly so it's not a matter of distance for me)

If I buy a $50 card, use my Target card, can I pay the balance with my Red Card?

Thanks. (so much to think about!)

I haven't had luck with topcashback either for my etarget gift cards that I bought through raise.

Went to purchase more gift cards at Target today and it shows the 5% discount but wants to charge me tax on the $300. Anyone else encountering this?

Tried again this morning and worked without tax. YAY!

Yes, I was trying to purchase and finally gave up when the tax kept bring added. I'll try again today or in a couple of days. It's very annoying!

Yes, you can use a Target GC in the store to purchase a Disney GC. Some cashiers may give you a little flack about it becausse you are not supposed to be able to purchase a GC with a Target GC. But that only applies to GCs that are equivalent to cash such as Amex GCs or Visa GCs. You can even purchase a Target GC with a Target GC!

If you use your Target REDCard to pay the difference, you will get 5% off of the amount paid for with the REDCard. So in your case, it would be 5% off of the extra $25, which is $1.25 off.

Question.. I was thinking of purchasing Landry gift cards with my target ones. In target..Landrys is an e gift card...which always makes me nervous for some reason. Anyway, can I call and check the balance just liked I would on a physical gift card?
