Uh oh. I wish I had known this. I just paid a deposit and I think I trashed my cards not thinking. Our trip isn't until Dec 2014....a little nervous now! ( I think they are in a can I don't empty often, I hope I didn't cut then up....)

I had that issue, they said if you don't have the original, they will mail a new gc. It just takes longer to get because you have to rely on the mail.

Just finished buying $3000 in Disney gift cards to pay off our package. Earned $600 in "free" gas...so we are telling ourselves that we ended up paying "only" $2400 for our 8 day vacation (AS Music family suite + FD'ing pin code)! And yes, we always get the 30 gallons by filling the tank and then filling all our gas cans!

Target has advertised that if you spend $75 or more on Black Friday you will get a coupon for a 20% discount valid the first week in December. Rumor has it that it may work for Disney gift cards but no one knows for sure. I read it on the Black Friday there here.

Just wanted to clarify, the coupon deal is only valid 12 am Friday - 6 am Friday morning, not all day. It's a coupon good off the entire order, so it definitely should include all merchandise apart from target giftcards.

The 20%-off coupon that you get for making a $75 or more purchase on Black Friday will be valid from Dec. 1 - Dec. 7. It is a one-time-use coupon. An image leaked of the coupon shows that it does have restrictions and excludes gift cards, among a few other things. Whether the exclusion will apply to Disney GCs and other GCs normally considered "entertainment cards" remains to be seen. Some coupons with similar wording have excluded the Disney GCs while others have not.

I didn't realize that the coupon deal was only valid until 6 AM Friday.

If they know, they are not at liberty to discuss it.

As to the other gift card deals, there's a current thread that lists the GC deals at various places. Are you just talking about Disney GCs or GCs in general?

Go to Target.com and view the Black Friday ad for yourself.

Page 34 of the Black Friday circular shows the details of the promotion.

Your $75 purchase must be made in a single transaction between 12:01 AM CST and store close, or online between 11/29/13 at 2:00 AM CST and 11/30/13 at 1:59:59 AM CST.

Someone on another thread had a good point since they let you use the red card on Disney gift cards they view them as merchandise so maybe the 20% applies

I would agree except I was one of the ones who tried to use the mover's coupon which is 10% your entire purchase. Exclusions on it read like any other Target coupon and it did not work on Disney giftcards. This was in September. It seems all the old coupons did work on Disney giftcards but not so sure about the new ones. I sure hope it does though

I just got a postcard in the mail to get a $40 Disney GC in exchange for a 20 min phone tour of DVC. I think it goes to Disney visa cardholders.
DVC is a very soft sell. It's an easy conversion. If we can survive other timeshare sales pitches in Orlando, we'll get through this one too.

Did anyone else get this?

I have not been able to figure an exact margin but I believe a company like target buys them between 10 and 15% Off face value. Now I know when they give iTunes cards at 10% off you can use the red card for 15% total. So by my math target would lose money letting us use the 20% off. This would be a lot easier if they put Disney gifts cards at 10% off everyone and a while.

I did that last winter. It was EASY! I was connected to the guy to do the sales pitch and he literally said he was mailing me a package and if I had any questions, to call and he would answer them. That was his sales pitch. Got the gift card shortly thereafter.

We are interested in DVC and don't know much about it...can sit thru a phone sells pitch....even more so with the free gift card bonus.

Going back to the Target deal, I DO work for Target, and that is where I got the info. I said nothing if when the deal is valid through, those dates are correct as posted here. It's the actual qualifying purchase I am speaking of that needs to be done between 12 am and 6 am on Friday. So if you're in the store between the 8 pm opening and midnight, or after 6 am Friday morning, you will not get the coupon. Our planning information states not to even out the coupons out at the lanes until 11:45 pm. I just double checked the ad and does not say anything about 6 am, but I am certain the paragraph in my packet referred to this time. I will verify again when I go back to work tonight.
