Disney Gift Card Deals

Is there anyone in the Pittsburgh area that has success with Kmart churns? I'm in MN and have no Kmarts near me, but will be in Pittsburgh this coming week on vacation. I only have $200 in Sears cards, but I'm wondering if it's worth bringing them to try since there are more Kmarts around there than there are in Minnesota.

I have churned within the last two months at a Kmart in Pittsburgh (not sure of location) without issue and at Kmarts in PA frequently with absolutely no issue....never a question asked.

I had luck with the Kmart near the PGH airport (moon twp/coraopolis) like a week or two ago. I had ordered $300 or the SVM discounted sears cards ($255 for $300) and was able to purchase 6 $50 Disney cards with them. However the experience didn't leave me warm and fuzzy-I wasn't sure though that I would be able to do it again because they said they do not take credit cards due to fraud (normally only cash sales for gift cards) and the manager had to ok the sale.
That's the store I was going to try as it is closest to where we are staying. Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm going to give it a whirl...if they say no I'll go with my original plan of selling them to CardCash as I bought them at a discount too, so I won't be losing any money.

Thanks, I'll definitely bring them with and try!

I can only get 2.7% at CardCash right now. I'm mulling over a 6.7% discount before the Target 5%. 11.7% doesn't seem like a whole lot. All the high percentage cards were gone by the time I checked at around 8:30 central.

No I have been too chicken, but the Giant Eagles/GetGo Gas Stations have both Disney, Target, Best Buy, etc that give Advantage card holders 10cent discounts on gas per $50 GC purchased (only exceptions are Giant Eagle GC and the Visa ones)....so if you are driving, you can pick some up for the gas when you leave Pittsburgh. This week Best Buy and 6 others are 20cents off each $50 GC purchased. So see if your family, etc has an Advantage Card or just get your own in-store.

PS Welcome to a wonderful summer in the Burgh! Lots going on in and around the city! This weekend is the Arts Festival at the Point (free but legend has it that is brings rain), Correctional Peace Officers Foundation National Convention at the Point mid-week...Let me know if you need some travel advice! Pens in the Stanley Cup, which may affect traffic mid week...maybe some Pirates games as welll....

ETA: Heck, bring the cards and give them a try, you have nothing to lose!

I have to say you're being a bit two-sided here. On one hand, you say you weren't abusing the system as if you were just using it as intended. On the other hand, you say you used the "trick" to buy tens of thousands of dollars worth of cards at a discount, well knowing this is not the way the site was meant to work because you call it a trick.

Aside from that... Can you share what volume you did thru what time periods? You only said 5-digits, which could be $10,000 (not much at all) all the way up to $99,000 (absurd amount). Concealing the amounts doesn't really help anyone pin down the levels that get one blocked. I don't believe their reasoning is arbitrary. Surely the person who blocked you is in one department and the rep you're talking to has no clue who that person is, nor why they blocked you. This may be by design. If they tell you the reason, you can plan to circumvent it. Right? Target would not want you to know the exact reason, else people would just try to skate right up to that line but not cross it. I don't believe they are obligated to give an explanation.

Can you just buy your remaining cards in store? You'll still get the 5% off if you pay w your Red Card.

Well, that's a bummer. :( Options are drying up.

It's a "trick" only in as much as it's a non-obvious combination of other business's offers (like redeeming credit card rewards for airline tickets, aka having your utilities and groceries pay for your flight--or what have you) in an absolutely legitimate fashion, not an abusive one. If their distribution for their gift cards is failing, that is certainly not my fault and not the result of any misconduct on my part. Target has very many easy solutions to this: put a hard daily, monthly, yearly, whatever limit per account and state it plainly; restrict GCM from selling on eBay (might have already happened), restrict the extra 5% on gift card purchases. All of those solutions are much more reasonable than costing themselves a valuable client that shops online pretty frequently who, until this happened, was a happy Target customer.

If they're not making money off my orders, then they have a serious problem in their supply chain well beyond me that needs to be resolved ASAP and certainly should not have been allowed to continue for, what, at minimum four years now looking back to the start date of this thread?

It's certainly not the customer's fault that they can't control their distribution.

Refresh my memory...is there still a $1000 every 30 days limit to purchasing via PPDG?

I was sitting at $975 since 5/17 and tried to buy $125 on 5/31 and I had to play the locked/unlocked PP game. Once I got the account completely unlocked (and I didn't need to call this time), I tried a $25 card and it went through OK. So, before I lock myself out again, I wanted to see if I would even be able to use my remaining $100 eBay card at PPDG.

Well, I tried it. I put $150 of BB cards into my cart and tried to log into PayPal to pay...

Sorry, this payment option isn’t available. Here are your options:
  • Contact PayPal customer service to resolve this issue.
It doesn't have anything to do with paying with an eBay gift card because I couldn't even get to that screen. I can't even use my PayPal account to pay for it. This is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen and I can't believe how hard PayPal makes it to purchase items that they sell directly. I'm trying to give them money for their product and their security software automatically flags it as fraud...how stupid is that?

Just tried the cardcash promo. It told me that the coupon is no longer valid

You didn't miss it by much. I bought a couple cards about 30 minutes before you posted this.

As others have said, this wasn't the biggest way to say $ on Disney cards. I took the plunge because I crunched the numbers, and with the lack of churning opportunities these days, I may come up a bit short for our next vacation.

Just tried the Best Buy thing on BestBuy.com for store pickup and Best Buy immediately canceled the order, so it looks like that deal is a bust unless they are willing to take it in store!

Most everyone's orders are cancelled unless adding another item to your cart. Most people are doing it by going directly to the store to start.

Got it. Didn't realize. Man, they are getting picky these days. I just think they all really, really need to spell out their gc policy because it seems unfair to do one thing online and another in store, and to single out customers for no reason.

If you buy them instore do you still get the 5% off from having a target card like you do online?
as others have said you instore discount is only on what is put on your red card

Question-- what is the difference between a Disney STORE gift card, and a regular Disney gift card?

I want to consolidate my small ($25/$50) cards onto a single card before my trip, and I went to the store and got a card from them for $15 specifically to transfer my other cards onto.

Are you guys saying that if I put my small balances onto the card from Disney store, I won't be able to use them in the park? Yikes!
the disney store I go to has disney gift cards and disney store gift cards. So it depends on what type of gift card you purchased.

The pick-up in store orders of GC's for BB do get cancelled but most of us seem to be successful in the store so it's definitely worth trying!

I found this on eBay....this reaks of a scam! How can eBay even allow this listing?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Commemorati...815390?hash=item3d1c3dc59e:g:YzwAAOSwnFZXUXYM

I like the quote at the end...in order to prevent fraudulent purchases, it won't be sent out until 21 days after the payment has been received and it will be sent via USPS. There is no way this person is going to actually include $2500 in gift cards with the item that they've listed as having no value. For certain, if someone actually buys this, they will receive exactly what is advertised...a $50 Disney gift card with no value on it, and they will have no recourse.

Funny. That seller has all positive feedback so doesn't seem like a scam seller, other than the strange listing.

They have over 4500 positive feedback but only 336 is from being a seller. Everything else is as a buyer. And why would anyone pay $150 over the value of these cards? I work retail and we were warned that people are using stolen cards to buy $500 gift cards.

I spent forever on the phone with Target today and somebody backed up the whole notion that the account triggered the "resale" algorithm. After getting bounced around to a million people and departments, I finally got an email address to write to corporate. I will see what comes of that, but I am not optimistic. This is very frustrating because this is by far the best deal on the market. If they're going to offer a fantastic deal, expect everyone to avail themselves of it, even their high dollar clients. I'd be astounded if this gift card deal was a loss leader with this many people ordering. It seems suicidally stupid of them to offer such a deal and lose money on every order for years.

Companies fire clients all the time. Offers are targeted. And life's not fair. I'd be happy with how much you saved and look for new opportunities to save.
