They are just clearing out inventory from their distribution center that they keep finding. I don't think we will ever see them back in stock in large quantities again. And that quickly they are gone!
Really? They are just clearing out inventory from their distribution center that they keep finding. I don't think we will ever see them back in stock in large quantities again.
That was fast... I'm getting my Target cards ordered on the Monday promo today.
At least it'll give me time to flip to ebay this week as last week was a crazy rush for everybody.
I got mine yesterday from Monday's sale. GCM seems to be moving faster the last couple of ordersI started converting mine to eBay last night. More to do today and I'm going to do some in store also.
I picked it out online and had it delivered. I also have bought the gold coin gcs. That is so cute! Did you choose the design online and chose mail delivery?
The delivery status for the package that was supposedly on this morning's truck changed this evening to "held for future delivery requested" and an email I received stated that delivery is now scheduled for MAY 17th!!!!!!
Dealing with UPS chat was absolutely useless. He couldn't tell me who made that change or why. He claims that the package IS at the "facility" but that no one will contact me about its whereabouts until tomorrow morning by 10 AM. It could be placed on the truck tomorrow. It could be on it's way to East Gibbip. It could have been stolen or fallen behind a shelf. All I know is that I have $1K in missing GCs from GCM. I sent a message to GCM thru eBay and I'll be waiting to see if they open an investigation with UPS from their end.
Not happy right now and very frustrated with UPS. I know that eBay/PayPal will make it right...eventually...if the package is indeed lost. The package tracking shows that it was never delivered but it's up to the sender to make the actual lost package claim. It's very nerve-wracking to be in limbo for the moment and I'm trying to remain calm.
And now the final chapter in the continuing story of "As the Gift Card Churns: A Comedy of Errors".UPDATE:
I reached out to GCM (which, by the way, was fantastic about responding to me in a timely manner) and they reassured me that if the package proved to be lost, they would "reprint" the GCs from the order and ship them to me. However, they asked me to determine through UPS if the package is truly lost.
UPS called me at 9:57 AM. Technically, that's still "before 10 AM". The woman I spoke with told me that the package is in their quality assurance department (UPS has one of these?) and it will unfortunately NOT be delivered today. She assured me that she will personally hand it to my driver tomorrow for delivery. I asked for confirmation that the package will definitely be delivered tomorrow because it requires a signature and necessitates me being home until it arrives. She told me that she will call me again tomorrow morning to verify that it has been handed off to the driver. No explanation as to why the delivery date was magically changed to 2 weeks into the future.
So, I'm still in limbo with those Target GCs but at least I have the assurance from both UPS and GCM that this will somehow be made right. And I don't have to postpone any errands because I'm fearful of missing the UPS truck. So, I'm in a better frame of mind than I was last night.
I tend to agree. They are just clearing out inventory from their distribution center that they keep finding. I don't think we will ever see them back in stock in large quantities again.
That is crazy! Thank goodness everything is fine! And now the final chapter in the continuing story of "As the Gift Card Churns: A Comedy of Errors".
After seeing that this morning's tracking still showed that the package was still being held for delivery, I waited until 9:45 to place a call to the 1-800 number for UPS customer service. Not surprising, the automated menu is completely useless if you're trying to find out what happened to a package. It'rivals the chat function for lack of purpose because it can't tell you anything that you cannot see for yourself. So, I chose the "order supplies" option and got a live person. She was able to see the same thing that I could see but at least she took the initiative to send an urgent message to the Philadelphia UPS distribution center and gave me a reference number in the event that they didn't get back to me within the hour. My cell phone was ringing even before I got off of the landline.
The woman at the Philadelphia location assured me that the reason my package was still showing up as "being held for delivery" was because she handed it to the driver herself and it didn't get scanned at that point. I waited alllllll dayyyyyy. Until about 10 minutes ago when the driver banged on my door with this envelope.

It looks like it fell off of a truck, got run over a few times and then had an oil change. That crud on it is heavy grease. The opposite side shows more than one tire tread.
But the good news is that all 10 of my $100 GCs were inside - safe, sound and finally in my hands. And I owe my husband a really good meal tonight for patiently putting up with my rants these last couple of days.
I haven't been churning or following this thread super closely so bare with me. Is your thinking they will be in store only or not sold at target at all now?I tend to agree.

I, for now, am in the wait and see camp. We were all atwitter and ready to call the target gc>ebay/disney gc w/ 5% off portal closed for good.I haven't been churning or following this thread super closely so bare with me. Is your thinking they will be in store only or not sold at target at all now?
I can handle that if that becomes the case.In store only.
I can handle that if that becomes the case.
Why wouldn't they just distribute them to the stores then though if that were the case.
They are just clearing out inventory from their distribution center that they keep finding. I don't think we will ever see them back in stock in large quantities again.
Has anyone tried the Simply Best portal using the 'filler item' trick? I searched the thread and didn't see anything. I can give it a shot if nobody has tried recently.
I shopped through Simplybestcoupons on April 26 and only got 6 cents for $200 Ebay egc and socks.
Random thought:
I was focusing on Disney GC as the end result of my churning. A while ago someone mentioned that ebay carries Hotel.com GC. That got me thinking. Today I investigated and Hotels.com had an 8% off promo code which did work on Disney hotels. Not sure if they offer promo codes regularly but if so this is a even better way to go. Assuming you are planning on doing a room-only reservation. Also you can go thru eBates (or your preferred portal) for a possible 3% cash back. (It excludes purchases made with giftcards but we all know that ebates exclusions don't always apply.)
This also got me thinking about other vacations my family is hoping to take. I spent a good amount of time searching hotels.com, thinking about non-Disney trips my churning funds can go to. (Universal, Great Wolf Lodge, ect)
LOL. I am literally putting in an order for gift cards and socks as we speak.
ETA: 4% of the $1.50 socks is .06. Sounds like it doesn't work.
Recent events, rumors, physical $100 cards have been out of stock for 6 to 8 weeks, and that there are very few physical cards available for purchase online.Really?
Why do you think that?
It is easier to just sell them through the existing distribution system then transfer them and deal with intercompany transactions. Target Stores and Target.com are separate companies. Transferring between the 2 creates accounting and tax implications.I can handle that if that becomes the case.
Why wouldn't they just distribute them to the stores then though if that were the case.
