Disney Gift Card Deals

Whew!! I just spent the last 4 days catching up on all posts since I left for Disney on the 16th for 2 weeks. There were almost 90 pages. I had decided I was going to stay away from the boards, swagbucks, etc. and spend most of my time with friends and family. Afterall, I only had 2 weeks away. :-)

I was checking each day for Ebucks promos to take advantage of. I was checking each morning and late evening. The only one I received was the 6 hour promo and missed that by just a few minutes. I think we need to have an email alert system and have it work like the Amber alert system on our cell phones so we don't miss them.

And the stuff really hit the fan hard while I was away. I have to admit, I have been a little despondent reading through the posts at the loss of 5%. Until, I got to the posts today that said it was back for Ebay GCs at least.

While I was in Florida, I noticed that they carried Universal Studio GCs at Target. I was wishing I had some Target GCs with me to pay for a stay in September.

Yes, you need an eBates account for her. Ebates tracks your purchases with the email address you use with them. I have a separate account at Target and Ebay and Ebates for my husband so I can switch off our red card purchases, with his email address.
This simply isn't true. I have a different email account for every website I am a member of. I do this to easily eliminate a source of spam. I have one for Ebates, one for Target, and one for Ebay. and I still get Ebate credits.

One PayPal account can have up to 8 eBay accounts attached.
I think you mean up to 8 email addresses. If you are a seller with 8+ ebay accounts, this is important. But as a buyer, I believe you could use it on any number of ebay accounts.

Does anyone else think like I do, in that I think they'd lose quite a lot of business/money closing this loophole? I can't imagine they don't realize people are using this, and though they may not want to acknowledge and officially allow it, seems like to close it now would cost them a huge amount sales! Another poster mentioned they wouldn't be spending as much there. I mean I think I'd be spending less there, and especially those who aren't churning, or only do raise(or similar) to target to Disney.
If they are aware of the ebay churn, they could see this as an opportunity to maximize profits. Because you will still buy to get the ebucks at ebay.

I am really curious to see if GS will get rid of the the gc-gc transactions. I would think it is not a good move for them since more and more games are going digital that means they will potentially loose money. I have never had an issues buying Microsoft gc with a GS gc. I never asked either I just scan the gc and I never has an employee say anything about it.
I agree. I think they really need to embrace GC>GC. Pretty soon, there won't be any game cart sales.

I don't think you're catching the logic here. If you make money on this. I.e. you personally end up with more money than you started, then one or more of the parties you're dealing with MUST be losing money. I made $X. You made $Y. A bunch of other people made money on it too. This money comes from somewhere. From Target. Target makes money only when you spend money. But you're not spending money, you're cycling gift cards thru their system, ending up with more value each time you do it. You (and I) are *not* welcome customers in doing this. Target loses money every time. We're okay w that cuz it's easy money for us, but the money does come from somewhere.
No one has to lose for all to make money. All we are doing is playing the arbitrage between a buyer and seller. There are investment bankers and hedge funds that make their living from this. They find a buyer who is willing to pay one price and a seller who is selling for a lesser price. They buy from one then sell to the other. They keep the difference.
We are doing the same with GCs.
Stores are marking up their goods by as much as 100%. They can afford to sell GCs at a discount.

No fee to deliver it to a ups store and yes you can pick which one-you have a week to pick it up from when it is delivered.
Thanks, I didn't know I had this much time to pick up.

disney gift cards were available this morning, but sold out fast. so really dont think thats true.
I think they were just clearing out additional inventory they found. I think this part of the churn is dead and buried. Fortunately for us, it was the last step in the process.

SO, I got the GCM limit enforced on me. No more than 25 items in 10 days. I never had that before. I had to hop over to my dh's account to buy more. And now, yet another limit to keep track of...good grief, just make this easy, alright!?!
If it was easy, it wouldn't be worth doing or everybody would be doing it.

Thanks :) It's been crazy, but I guess life always will be with 5+ kids. I wouldn't trade it for anything :)
Did you stop counting after 5 kids?

If anyone would be so kind... what does the subject line look like for an email from PPDG? I still haven't received mine, but I'm on the hunt in my inbox to see if I missed it (bought it 1 week ago).

It should be "Your order number and claim link"

I just ordered something from PPDG and got it within the hour.

I have never received Ebates credit when I used a different email address. I don't know how it's working for you but I'm glad it does. I would not be able to keep track of which email I use with which account either ;)

I have received mine pretty quickly- I got separate e mails with the subject line "Your order number and claim link" within an hour of the Order notification e mail from eBay. I have ordered Ebay cards, Applebees, and Best Buy through them. HTH

I'd like to know more about this too. Can you pay a Target Redcard balance with another cc?
I doubt you could use a credit card to pay your target bill. The referenced Visa GC, is a bank issued gift card, that can be used as a debit card, especially if it has a pin. You can buy these in many places, including grocery stores, convenience stores, online, etc. Many places that take debit cards as payment will take these as well. The downside is they usually have a service fee, like $5.95 per card.

My eBates account is attached to a hotmail address but I do a lot of my shopping with my gmail account that is just for spam. I always get my eBates credit. Just did this with 1800flowers.com this morning.

It must have been something I was doing wrong. It was when I first started using Ebates over a year ago. I didn't even realize I could do a ticket to get credit for a long time.

Oh wow, thanks for sharing. I assume you can buy tickets with these? Maybe we won't be converting all of our funds into Disney :scratchin
We are planning a trip to Disneyland/Universal Hollywood in Sept, would love to get some of these. Anyone know more about them, and where they might be for sale. My sister lives in Florida on the coast, but I wonder if they are just in the Orlando area.

That is good news. Do mind sharing what Target you went to and what denominations they had? Thanks :)

I've been following along with this newest Target revelation of no REDcard discount on gift cards. Out of curiosity, I looked up the benefits listed for the card. Has anybody else seen this before? Could be the answer to our question, albeit not the one we were all hoping for.......

5% discount does not apply to the following:

  • Prescriptions, clinic services at Target and Target Optical™ eye exams
  • Target gift cards and prepaid cards
  • Any prepaid card or gift card purchased on Target.com
  • Previous purchases
  • Target credit account payments, Target Debit Card cash back and cash advances on the Target MasterCard
  • Gift wrap and shipping and handling charges on Target.com purchases
  • Wireless protection program purchases and deposits required by mobile carrier
  • Where otherwise prohibited by law

Apologies if it has been discussed already (did not see it, but this is quite a monstrous thread so I may have missed something), but it looks like Target.com has changed their Redcard Benefits Program Rules again:

"5% discount does not apply to the following:

Wonder if Ebay/Disney gift cards don't count as "3rd party cards" and thus the 5% is working again? But then what is a "3rd party card"?

I'm not sure what the 3rd party cards or prepaid cards account for aside from maybe Visa/Amex/MC prepaids, but I purchased a Regal and Cheesecake Factory gc for DDs teacher today and got 5% off so the discount works as it did before in store.
