Disney Gift Card Deals

Went through everything only to find out that Target can't ship GCs to a MI address. It may not be worth the extra gas to drive 25+ miles round trip for a stack of gift cards, especially since I don't really know how many they will let me get in any one transaction.

:(

Can't ship to a Michigan address?! I have ordered at least $2000 worth of Disney GC's from Targets site over the past 3 months and they ship without a problem. Not sure why you're running into a problem. In store I bought $300 no problem. I don't think they have an in-store limit...just the limit of 3 on-line. But with free shipping with your RedCard, it doesn't bother me to make multiple purchases.

So no one has tried the cardpool cvs/walgreens 10% off then buy a gift card trick. Going to try it sooner then later with like 50 bucks to see if I can buy a Disney giftcard

Figured it out... won't ship to a PO Box. So, shipping them to our house even though all our mail goes to the PO Box. Hope the mailman can find our box :rotfl:

Per the CVS website, you cannot use their gift card to purchase another gift card ... I think Walgreens is the same

"*CVS/pharmacy gift cards cannot be used online at CVS.com or to purchase
any other retailers gift card or prepaid card that CVS/pharmacy may carry."

We travel a lot and don't want mail coming to our home, so we exclusively use our PO BOX....to the point we removed the mailbox from our house so any substitutes don't accidently deliver the weekly ads or junk mail.

To get around the "we don't deliver to a PO Box" the post office allows you to use "Street Addressing" which is basically you use the street address to your post office followed by your Box number. You have to sign up for it but it is just a form to say "yeah I won't pretend I actually live there", lol. Check with your post office for the forms.

[[Be careful with this when ordering things because FedEx and UPS can't have things put into your PO Box.]] Edited to add: This is incorrect now! Sorry!

Be careful with this when ordering things because FedEx and UPS can't have things put into your PO Box.

Actually that is the purpose of Street Addressing....FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc will deliver it to the post office....and the post office will finish the delivery by putting it in your box. I use it for Amazon Prime all the time because they won't do the 2 day delivery to a PO Box, but they will to the Street Addressing.

The contract form you have to fill out has rules, like a limit of 70 pounds, no special handling (like dry ice perishable) and some other rules that were pretty common sense. The one that worried me was you can't put your PO Box # in as "suite" or "apt" or something and I worried about whether Amazon or other online stores might swap my "....Blvd #1234" and move the number to Apt or something, but I've never had that happen when ordering online, I think the computer program just copies exactly what you have.

Anyway...it has worked for us for quite a long time, so I thought I'd offer it to anyone else who has problems with not having a street address. I would recommend you talk with your post office about any concerns you have, but it's a standard PO form so it would seem it would be the same nationwide.

Has anyone used the disney gift card to tip at a table service restaurant? And if you have a $50 GC but only want to tip $20, is that possible? TIA

We did all of our tips with gift cards, no troubles. Also no problem using $50 card for $20 tip

We did that our entire trip 2 years ago, but this year I might just use my magic band and use the gift cards to pay it off every day.

Just FYI...topcashback is offering 4% top-up on all cash back offers today only. I know some of you mentioned going thru topcashback to get to cardpool and order your Walmart gift cards to use on Disney gift cards at Sam's Club online. So my understanding is you get 2% from TCB (plus an extra 4% for 4th of July) when you link to Cardpool to buy Walmart GCs at 3% off. That's 9% savings, plus the almost 5% savings you get when you buy the 3-pack of Disney gift cards at Sam's Club online. Plus if you use a discover card or any other card that gives you cash back to purchase your Walmart gift cards on Cardpool, you get that savings as well. So I'm looking at 15% savings today (counting my 1% discover card cash back). Does my math look correct on all of that?

Looks right to me! Nice savings. Just remember topcashback won't give cash back on more than $1,000 in purchases.

Happy saving!

Yep! I had already purchased $150 thru TCB in June, then I saw this offer today, so I talked my hubby into letting me purchase the other $850.

I'm estimating the cost of our trip to be about $3000...so now I'll have to figure out the next best way to get savings since I've reached my limit for TCB.

When I looked at the Topcashback site, it looked like they were only paying an additional 4% of the cash back percentage... Not 4% on top of the normal percentage. So, rather than the normal 2%, Cardpool is showing as 2.08% (2 x 1.04 = 2.08). Am I looking at this wrong? Would love it to be an additional 4%, but I'm afraid to pull the trigger...

This thread has gone on so long, I feel like we may have chatted about this before - ha. Just in case though . . . do you have a Kroger near you? I do the gas 4x fuel thing instead of topcashback. I save more that way. Also, someone posted (I think it was this thread?? - I lose track) that you CAN get the 5% redcard discount when purchasing Dis gift cards online through Target even when you pay with a gift card. I plan to try this the next time Kroger runs their 4x fuel program. Instead of buying Disney gift cards at Kroger, I will buy Target cards. Then I'll buy my Dis gift cards on Target.com with my redcard discount. It should work out to 20% off (14% fuel + 1% cred card + 5% red card). I think Kroger will be running their promo again in August.

Side note FYI: I think the in-store Sams Club discount is higher than the online discount.

Ooooh! Can anyone verify this? I don't have a Sam's club membership, but I'm sure I can find someone to take me with them. My Walmart gift cards are e-cards. Can I still use them in store (assuming the in-store discount is larger)? I was just planning on creating an account for my grandmother on samsclub website using her card number and then ordering my Disney gift cards from there.

Without going back through a bunch of posts to get an exact figure, the in store discount is between 4-5%. I don't recall what posters said about the online discount, but I remember it being much smaller. I think you would want to verify that your local Sams does in fact carry the discounted cards. Folks have been reporting a 3 pack of $50 cards.

You might be able to use your ecards on walmart.com to purchase a physical Walmart gift card which you can carry to Sams with you.

Good luck!

Jodie

At my local Sam's, the 3x 50 cards are 142.98 (4.7% off). They used to sell individual 50 cards for 46.56 (6.9% off) but ours doesn't carry those anymore.

Also, I've scanned my Walmart eGift cards at the Sam's self checkout directly from my phone. Didn't even need to print them :)

Hope that helps :thumbsup2
