Disney Gift Card Deals

So today I purchased a Disney Gift Card, a Chick-fil-A gift card, and some movies to get to $75 (after target discount) and got the coupon.

What I found interesting was that the Disney gift card rang up as "Disney" and the Chick-fil-A gift card rang up as an "entertainment card." Previously, the Disney gift card also rang up as an "entertainment card."

I guess we shall find out on Sunday if this 20% off coupon works or not.

It wasn't just my local Target that rang up the Disney gift card as "Disney." A friend did a similar purchase about 40 miles away at another Southern California Target.

P.S. Here's a photo of the coupon I was given for the 20% off:

Where was that? When I look at the ad, I only see prescriptions, optical, clinic, tax, shipping and handling listed as being excluded from qualifying purchases.
I hope the Disney cards count. I wasn't even planning on buying them to get the coupon. I was buying a blanket which was over $75 on it's own, but as it turns out, it was on sale, and less than the needed $75, so I added Disney cards to get there last minute. Hmm....

Click on the
spend $75, get 20% off button, then that leads you to another link with the details.
spend $75 or more & get a store coupon for 20% off to be used December 1-7. offer details

Sounds like it's working for others. I really don't need anything from Target, so I am going to just buy Disney cards and see what happens.

I got my 20% off coupon tonight and asked the sales associate if I'd be able to stack it with my 5% pharmacy rewards coupon and she said yes!

Did you still get the RedCard discount on it?

So who is going tomorrow to try and use the coupon for Disney gift cards?

I will be there tomorrow morning to see. Will also use my redcard, for an additional 5% off : )

Adding up how much we really really need. 20+% off is no joke!

Just looked at my purchases from last December and they also rang up as "Disney", so it doesn't look like it's changed.

I'm so confused! I had planned to buy all the gift cards I need and use my credit card. Now in reading that you can't buy them at Target with a credit card - it must be cash or debit. My closest Target is an hour away. I don't know if I'm going to make the run until I know for sure how they have to be paid for. I have 20 plus going on a trip next month !!!!

I don't think this is true. Buying a Disney card is no different than buying a gallon of milk.

Where did you read that? It is fine to use a credit card to get the 20% off (if the coupon works, of course). Using a Target debit/credit card would get you an additional 5% off, but that is not required.

Where are you reading that you can't buy gift cards at Target with a credit card? I've never heard of this.

It was in another thread here on the DIS. I'm going back to re-read the WHOLE thing - maybe they were talking just about the 5 0/0 with red card. Maybe!!!!

I bought a small stack of Disney gift cards at Target with 5% plus pharmacy 5% (which works out to be a little more than 9% off) a couple of weeks ago. The Disney gift cards stuck to paper holders rang up as "Entertainment" and the all plastic cards (that you snap in half to remove the gift card) rang us as "Disney." But the discount applies to them all, regardless.

Evidently the 20% applies to phone cards. I wonder if it applies to any other kind of card. Obviously not the Mickey ones, whether they're entertainment or Disney!

Just tried with a cashier and two front end managers. All agreed that they should be covered as entertainment cards, but said the register didn't allow it and it wasn't something they could override.
