Disney Gift Card Deals

Paypal digital gifts has a limit on the amount you can buy from them (using any combinations of funding sources), but I do not remember what it is (maybe $1000 every 30 days?). There is a rolling limit of $5000 of purchases every 180 days *using* ebay gift cards. It is enforced by the payment system. When I hit my limit earlier this week, I was getting 7 $50 target cards from GCM. Either I had miscalculated how much I had left before my limit and had to pay my shipping charges from my paypal balance (thank you, swagbucks). Every time I entered a $10 ebay card code to cover shipping, it would drop one of my $100 codes off (and I only had 6 codes entered, so I wasn't hitting a max number of cards limit). I still have ebay gift cards left for when I drop below my limit in February....

Yep, I'm out until February as well. Used my last 200.00 on the 4x and had to pay shipping oop as well.

My advice would be to call other Targets near you to find one that does. Keep in mind that Target has Disney GCs at multiple locations in their stores, and usually they are the $50 or $100 variety. So some employees will just put you on hold, find the nearest Disney GC and make a declaration that that's all they carry. One Target I went to had Disney GCs at all 30 or so registers. There were $25 GCs on only one of them. Just keep looking.
This has been the best advice!!! Just went to our Target store and was told in the store as well as on the phone that they did NOT have any $25 Disney gift cards. Remembering what you said I asked a third person where else they sold gift cards in the store. She directly me to Electronics where I found tons of $25 Disney Gift cards. I only needed $400 more so picked up $350 took it to the register with the sale add and they manually added the gift cards with no questions. immediately got out of line, went back and picked up two more, and proceeded to pay for them with the gift cards I just got plus put the reminder on my Red Card plus got another $5 gift card since I purchased 2. Saved 14% so I am a very happy camper!!! Originally went to the Target to pick up my buy one fragrance gift set get one 1/2 off which I bought on line with other things in my online cart wit the 20% off was applied plus the 5% on red card. The gift set could not be mailed so I had to pick them up in the store. So glad I did!!! If that was not enough headed straight to bath and body and received my free $13 item with the coupon from the mail. They just so happened to be selling their candles for $14 off today only so I picked up 2 for gifts. With that transaction basically saved $41!!! Getting ready to take advantage of the American Express promotion where you get a $30 statement credit for spending $150 or more at Undercover Tourist. We are doing one day at Universal so I plan on using this deal to buy our Universal park to park one day ticket. Since between my husband and I we have 3 cards so that would be a $90 saving on top of the $3 savings of each ticket through Undercover Tourist. On top of that their tickets are refundable if not used!!! I would have to say this has been a VERY productive day!!!

you can't "charge your passes to the band"

tickets are cash/credit card upfront and have been for at least 15 years
I was able to "charge my passes to the band" at ticket windows and lobby concierge when staying on site. You can also pay for your passes with GCs at ticket windows. It's not strictly cash/CC upfront.

I wouldn't think it would be an issue either. :confused3

Gift cards I understand...

But unless they have change the policy due to bands...and I mean recently...park tickets were always paid/charged/collected at the time of
Purchase.

They never wanted a scenario where that money wasn't already in the bank before you enter a gate.

Same as rooms...you don't have to prepay everything...but it will be paid before you ever get into it.

That kinda of operational "high value" items...resort revenue and tickets...were never left to sit on a folio...even if it were for 30 minutes.

Are we sure you "bought them with the bands?"...

Or did the system run it through the credit card the minute the Mickey turned green?
There is a key distinction.

Much different than food and merchandise purchases.

So I finally got an email from Target with a 20 percent off code to use online only (bummer). I was hoping to use it in store this week for my regular grocery shopping. It was an automatically generated email, not a response to the email I sent them 2 days ago stating i had not received my coupon yet. I will be curious to see if they ever do respond to that one.

I still have not received my 20% coupon from my two BF orders. However, I got a coupon in store a couple of days ago. Maybe worth a shot asking if they have any left.

I was not able to charge even an upgrade to my tickets ($30 each time) at either Guest Relations inside Magic Kingdom or at the concierge desk at Bay Lake Tower. That was just this past December/January.

I have charged my ticket purchases to my room charge many, many times. Also, I've used gift cards at the ticket windows.
I've never used cash or credit cards at a ticket window.

DH just asked this-
Would it be best to charge the annual passes with our magicband then go to our resort later to pay off the balance with the gift cards so we don't have to waste time at a ticket window during the day?

If you are buying an AP you need to pay for it one way or another and have to visit a ticket window or guest relations to get it. I'd just use the gift cards there instead of wasting time and going to the front desk at the resort.

Yes, I was able to use a gift card when I upgraded my tickets, but, I specifically asked at both places noted above and was told I could not charge an upgrade to the room.

This does not.

I'm not disputing giftcards...they are basically cash...

but tickets on the room?

Where are you staying? There are credit thresholds on room charges based on category that would Make very likely to exceed the threshold in one shot if you put tickets on the band.

I'm not sure what the disconnect is...but they will not let you put 4 annual passes...which now run $2,300-$3,500 as "dead money" in the resort system. That's not how the accounting in the resort system works.

I might have just a tad of experience in this one...

But...big but...if things have changed I'd be fascinated to hear more.

My guess is that if you used your band "many times"...it's because the system is up to date enough to charge it to your card immediately.

Heck, you may even think they are "trusting you" while you go back and pay it off...but in reality they refund your credit card when you pay with another form. That would be a typical type of transaction.

And the bands have been online for 27 months...how many times is "many" in 27 months?

Just curiosity from me...I would like to hear more.

An annual is pretty cut and dry...

Have to get it at a ticket center (there are five) and you pay for it up front...whether standing at the back gate of Epcot or on Disney.com 11 months before you pick it up. No ifs ands or butts.

But again...in speaking from experience in the system along time ago (I'm 100% right that there were no room charge tickets then...no arguments)...

But maybe I'm out of date or there are variations with shorter term tickets?

Yes, I charge my ticket to AP upgrades to the room. I pulled my receipt from September, and it says "Hotel Card" as the form of payment. They scanned my Magic Band at the ticket window. I stay at Boardwalk, and I pay my hotel charges off with gift cards. They did not charge my credit card and refund it. The charges were not over my hotel limit.

Also, read Marionette's post above. She has had the same experience that I have charging tickets to the room.

Hopefully, the next time you try it, you will have success. Because it can definitely be charged to the room.

Not as a convention, group or other special accommodation?

I'm not disputing your experiences...I'll research when the policy changed.

Because that is not the policy that I knew and enforced on a number of levels from 00-03.

The only actual exception that I can recall was as a GSM at Y&B for conventions with Fortune 500 pharma and accounting firms...where we were permitted to put the special convention rate tickets on the rooms at checkin to expedite the process in very specific circumstances...and the travel planners back all the room bills by contract.

You've raised my interest. Not taking payment for rooms and ticket media...dinner shows...special events like not so scary...were mistakes flagged almost immediately and corrected by payment. Those that allowed it could be subject to disaplinary action.

Very interesting...

No, I've never been part of a convention, group or other special accommodation.

I just pulled a few more ticket upgrade receipts out of my Disney box, and they all say "Hotel Card" as the form of payment. I only have back as far as 2012, but I have done this probably 8 times in the past few years.

I wonder if it's a policy and you just got lucky with a CM who didn't know any better.
