Are you saying pay $50, get $5…then exchange with $50 of credit?

no…store computer systems aren't quite that stupid. You'll get $45 back or they'll void the $5.

I just went to my target to try to get the deal of 2 25$ giftcards and receive a 5$ giftcard. I asked a guy near if it work and he told me it would qualify. After bringing them up to the register I was told it didn't work and they couldn't give me the deal. A little annoyed I waited in line after I was told it would work only to find out it wouldn't.

Doesn't that have to be moved to one that isn't a preset value like a $50 more like one where you pick the value

Aren't the ones sold at target all preset value? I used $25, $50, or $100 for mine. Then I just keeping adding to them as a buy more gift cards. Then when I go to Disney it's much easier to pay with one gift card at a time than a bunch of them for every purchase. I prefer to do this before my trip and not have to bother going to the front desk while I am there for any of my purchases.

I was able to find (18) $25 Disney gift cards at my local Target. I went to Customer Service and like everyone else when I had them ring up two of them but nothing promoted them of the $5 Target card. She looked at page 20 of the ad and then proceed forward with honoring the promotion.

She did mention that you can't use Target gift cards to purchase other gift cards so no worries I'm sure we will use the $40 in Targets on something else

Update:
Decided to extend our stay next week so went to another Target today and they had loads of Disney $25 gift cards (including Toy Story, Princes, and two types of Mickey).

Anyways they honored the promotion but instead of issuing $5 Target cards they just took it off the total as a "store coupon" and also let me use the Target promo gift card I received a couple days ago

So I finally got an email from Target with a 20 percent off code to use online only (bummer). I was hoping to use it in store this week for my regular grocery shopping. It was an automatically generated email, not a response to the email I sent them 2 days ago stating i had not received my coupon yet. I will be curious to see if they ever do respond to that one.

Are you trying to purchase giftcards? I believe they are excluded from those types of coupons

Yes, or better yet combine the Disney gift cards on their website before you go. You can have up to $1000 per gift card with a total of 5 saved. That's what I am doing for our trip.

Not the physical gift cards to my knowledge. For example, I don't see any promo online for the $25 Bass Pro Shop gift cards.

Well, I just found the answer to my question. Was having trouble finding it on the staples site, but I have now. It definitely says "gift cards may not be used to purchase other gift cards." Oh well.

The promo may only be available in store. That's how it worked this week with the Bass Pro Shop and Applebee's promo.

I decided not to take a chance that tomorrow's promo will be available online and instead DH and I hit two Target stores today. The first store had 14 $25 Disney cards. They honored the promo and allowed me to pay with gift cards. The second store had 16 $25 Disney cards, also honored the promo and allowed me to pay with gift cards. Both stores were really nice and after a little verification from a manager, the sales associates rang me up no problem.

So I was able to convert $750 from Target to Disney and receive $75 in promo gift cards. I had $800 in gift cards from the $200 for $185 eBay deal and I had purchased those eBay giftcards from Target when they were on sale. So it was a pretty decent discount. Now I am busy combining everything to purchase our park tickets. We'll be all set to schedule our fast passes at the end of this month now!
