Disney Gift Card Deals

Has anyone been doing this long enough to know if the eBay deal at Target comes around every so often? I have 90 days until my trip, so I have the time to wait it out for a better cardpool deal, but I don't want to miss out on the eBay deal step if it isn't going to be available in the future. Any advice?

The eBay thing is only this week. I'd recommend jumping on this deal. I have it working out to be ~23% off.

Do you mind me asking how it comes out to 23%. I was thinking around 15% because of the shipping charges at ebay. I hope I am missing something lol

Let's say that you were lucky enough to purchase an $86 Target GC at an 8% discount. OOP cost for that GC would be $79.12. Use that Target GC to purchase an eBay GC ($90 for a $100 GC). Using the REDCard Discount, the GC would cost $85.50. Now, go on eBay and purchase a $100 Target GC using the $100 eBay GC and pay an additional shipping charge of $2.99. Your OOP cost is now $82.11. Once your physical Target GC arrives by mail, go back to Target .com and order a $100 Disney GC using the REDCard discount. This leave you with a $5 balance on your Target GC.

Your OOP cost for a $100 Disney GC ends up being $77.11 (if you subtract the $5 that remains on your Target GC). That's almost a 23% savings!

Here's how I worked it out (it's kind of hard to get a good number because of all the discounts). I was able to buy 170 worth of Target gift cards this morning on raise for 6% off, so I used 6% in my analysis. I also did it based on buying $1,000 of ebay gift cards (just because that was easier to figure).

Raise - buy 855.00 of Target gift cards; pay 803.70 (6% off)
Target - buy 1,000 of Ebay gift cards; use 855.00 of Target gift cards (90*10 = 900 - 5% REDcard discount = 855)
Ebay - buy 1,000 of Target gift cards; use 1,000 Ebay gift cards & pay 11.90 in shipping (2.99 first card & .99 for each additional 9 cards)
Target - buy 1050 of Disney gift cards; use 5% REDcard discount and $997.50 in Target gift cards (1,050 *.95 = 997.50)

Total Out of Pocket
Raise - 803.70
Ebay Shipping - 11.90
Total = 815.60

Value Received
Disney Gift Cards - 1,050
Target Gift Card Remaining 2.50
Total Value = 1,052.50

Percentage Saved (815.60/1052.50) = 77.49% = 22.51% savings

Yep, I think my math worked out to be 22.5% and that's not including the 2% on my Barclay card I get for buying the original gift card. This is an awesome deal!:banana:

I'm at 21% starting with target gift cards bought from kroger (2x fuel points not 4).

Are the $50 eBay gift cards still available? It looks that way but I know people were saying their orders were getting canceled.

Yeah, what they said haha.

Simple version:

2% credit card
6% target gift card
10% sale on eBay gift card
5% red card
-2% shipping
5% Disney gift card

By the time you end up accounting for compound percentages, you end up around 22ish%.

Target - buy 1,000 of Ebay gift cards; use 855.00 of Target gift cards (90*10 = 900 - 5% REDcard discount = 855)

Yes but this would require 20- $50 gift cards or 10- $100 gift cards, if you can get them. Target blocked me at 3- $100's, but I was able to get 12- $50's later.

Ebay - buy 1,000 of Target gift cards; use 1,000 Ebay gift cards & pay 11.90 in shipping (2.99 first card & .99 for each additional 9 cards)

Have you done this? I got blocked at applying more than 4 EBay Redemption Codes to a single order. At $50 each, that limits you to $200 purchased at a time. That takes $2.99 for the first card and $.99 for each additional up to paying that $3.98 for every $200 worth. This costs another 1% approximately. And then I got capped on using that many Redemption codes on one Paypal account. I am hesitant to buy more until I see someone actually able to do this en masse.

That EBay limit is what worries me because I don't want to get stuck with EBay redemption codes I can't cash in on Target cards. I'm interested to hear what other ppl are finding when they try to do this on a larger scale.

I just used 8 -$25 codes in one transaction.

I thought I read that you can use up to $500 in ebay gift cards per transaction, but then somewhere else mentioned a $500 daily limit on gift card purchases from ebay as well. I have 8 gift cards ready to use (6x$50 and 2x$25) with another 2x$50 on the way. Very curious to see if anyone else can combine more than 4 to cut down on shipping

i searched ebay policies on gift cards and found this link...
http://pages.ebay.com/giftcard/terms_conditions.html

which says this...
"No more than a total of $500 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per eBay purchase. Unverified PayPal accounts are limited to a total of $500 in purchases of Gift Cards in any 30-day period and verified PayPal accounts are limited to $5000 in purchases of Gift Cards in any 180-day period."

To date, I've only done $500.00 worth. I was just using the above as an example, but you are right - lower amount = higher shipping fees as a percentage. I also didn't count the 2% I get back on my credit card because I would be getting that regardless - if I bought these cards or just paid for my trip outright. I also got 10.00 in ebay bucks with my 500.00 purchase so that offsets the shipping costs.

Just wanted to add one more step (if it works). Buy the Target gift cards from Ebay through Ebates. It says 1% back for gift cards.
I have been doing this and received my 1% back. If you are also signed up for my ebay bucks you get additional 2% to spend within Ebay which more than pays for the shipping costs.

I was pixie dusted in a MAJOR way and received $700.00 of Disney Gift cards FOR FREE. I bought Target gift cards from Raise and bought Disney gift cards from Target. Won't go into details about the rest but just wanted to thank everyone in this thread for their ideas and input.

@MrInfinity When you found out you couldn't apply more than 4 gift cards on ebay, did it let you cancel your order and remove some Target gift cards? I assume it was during checkout and still able to be adjusted, but sometimes with ebay you click once and you've bought it.

I used 5 cards and didn't have a problem. Odd.

Maybe then it was related to the $500 daily limit someone else mentioned? I had bought $300 worth the night before, and was trying to buy more the following day (still w/in 24 hours). It would let me put lots of redemption codes on it, but then when I'd go to Paypal to pay the shipping, it would remove all but 4 of them and was expecting me to pay cash for those not covered. So it wasn't capping me at buying more than $500 worth of GCs within a day, but it could have been limiting the spend of $500 worth of Redemption Codes w/in a 24-hour period tied to one Paypal account.

Yes! I was holding my breath when that happened for fear of exactly what you say, that I'd have been stuck paying for them w/ real money. :) But it worked, no problem removing down to the limit it allowed.

Help, please. I still don't see how to apply my gift cards on Ebay. When I choose other payment option I only see where I can enter a credit card. Where or how do you enter gift cards?

Oh, and I still have not received my cards from Cardpool from early last night. >:( And, of course as many of you know, you can't call their customer service because they don't answer.
