Disney Gift Card Deals

I'm debating on that Sam's club membership. What are the discount levels for the various Disney Gift Cards they sell?

Does anyone use Shopkicks? I have two $10 off $50 Sam’s Club cash back offers on my credit cards and I see Shopkicks is offering 10 kicks/$1 spent. That would put me very close to cashing out for a $25 Disney GC. I’m planning on buying Disney GCs from Sam’s and I know Shopkicks says no gift cards but i didn’t know if it would work anyways.

RMN question: I did a cash back offer yesterday through RMN to Amazon. I navigated through the RMN portal to Amazon and made the purchase (and it was legit, bought 2 pairs of shoes for my kid), but I'm not seeing anything go pending. Now when I look at my Amazon history, it looks like one pair is coming directly from Amazon and one is from a third party. Does that make a difference? It's the same order number for both.

Does it usually take a while for the online to go pending?

Anyone know how to get RMN to investigate? I bought the second pair of shoes specifically to trigger the $50 threshold for the $10 cash back (though i probably would have purchased the shoes anyway at a later date).

It takes a while for online stuff to show up in RMN (most people say around a week.)

Has anyone else had issues with Dosh just not working? I made a purchase at Dunkin Donuts on Wed which should have been 5% back and there is nothing pending through Dosh at all.

Just want to confirm that this should work. I have the 10% staples AMEX (up to 50). There is also an RMN offer for online 10$ back if spend 125$+. I’m going to buy $500 worth of VGC (fee should be 15.—) and turn those into Amazon gift cards at BB through swagbucks. Then plan is to buy grocery gift cards from Amazon.

I’m thinking that is $465.9 out of pocket for $500 groceries and $67.5 back (SB, BB, RMN).

Anyone see an error or a “won’t work”?

Up to 4.7% off when buying online. To be most effective most pair that with a rewards CC or another discounted GC and shopping portals/apps to get a higher return. Here's my comparison chart between BJ's and Sam's Club - the only places I'm aware of that sell a discounted Disney GC.

Sam's online $150 3pk is still the best, but I did notice that Bj's lowered the $500 GC to the 479.99 online. I think a few people reported getting that in stores not too long ago? My stores haven't updated any tags yet so I don't know for sure if it's the same all over.

Personally, if you can buy anything at Sam's for the same price you'd have bought it elsewhere anyway, then I considered it a free membership for the year. I used my $45 credit on products I'd have bought from BJ's or Target anyway so that money would have been spent regardless. Now anything else I get is gravy, like discounted GCs :)

Math looks good to me. I am doing the same thing with my offer, VGC to BB. You'll also earn BB rewards if you are signed up, if you have a use for them.

Personally I'm holding out another week or so though to see if they do a no fee VGC fee that I can use before pulling the trigger.

I've had it credit... in store with the QR code... but I think the last time I did it was last Spring when Chase had a 10x URs at BB and Shopkick had a 10x points deal. I haven't used it for purchases in a long time now. The Sam's Club AMEX offer is online only I think, this time.

I just got back from Kroger - MI and there were no signs designating which gift cards earns 4x fuel. Several cashiers and CS said they believe it is on any.

I just need Visa as I'm well stocked with Disney. I'll update if my digital coupon disappears!

The Amex Blue cash Preferred is only 4.4% cash back. Here is the math:

If you spend $6,000 you get back .06 * 6000 = $360 - $95 annual fee = $265 . So 265/6000 = 4.4%

The break even point is at around $3200, so only get the Preferred if you are absolutely sure you will be spending more than $3200 on it per year at supermarkets.

If you spend the full $6,000 in a year, you will get $85 more than just having the free Amex Blue.

True, but the $200 statement credit when you first sign up mitigates the annual fee for at least the first two years. A good strategy would be to ride out two years of using the BCP and then get the no fee version. Plus, the 3% back on fuel is pretty good as well.

Anyone use Pei? I just got it. I like that I get another 1% back from Target purchase on top on my 5%. But I don't know if it works in gift cards. Or if stacks with other programs such as Dosh? It's different owners. I don't have Sam's club listed but it was listed on the page I signed up with. So do I get discounts there? Or only certain ones? Any pro tips?

Thanks for the information. I'll stick with getting my Disney GC from Target at 5% discount with my RedCard and using Shopkick to earn points for them. The closest Sam's is farther away than my local Target. Plus being single, I can't justify warehouse bulk items.

Hmm maybe I'll link one of my cards to Shopkicks and just go through Swagbucks too and see what I get.

Just started using it. My best tip is sign into all your debit and credit card accounts right away and then spend as you normally would. I didn’t even realize they had $2 back if you spend $20 on Lyft until i saw it pending. Many merchants didn’t show for me at first but then after I linked cards a few days later stuff showed up. Crazy thing was my purchase from those days tracked anyway. Idk about stacking with Dosh, I suspect gift cards will track but haven’t tried it.

Be ready for odd things to happen, it’s still Beta.

This weekend they doubled their referral offer to $5 so it’s a good time to refer someone (don’t do that here, not allowed on the DIS).

For those considering it sign up on the app or else you’ll get stuck on the waitlist.

Not that I'm trying to sway you one way or the other, but when I was living alone I still used Sam's for my paper goods. I found buying the big packs of TP and Paper Towels, even tissues, was more economical than getting the smaller sizes on sale. I just stuffed the extra into a closet and then I didn't need to make a trip for a while. Would I have bought a full priced membership for it? No, but at the time they let you do the add on member for something cheap like $10 so I had one of those. I understand if it's not worth the hassle, but I got mine as there's been some deals in the last few years that were useful and $0 was better than the $10 I spent back in the day. Just some food for thought, I'll not be offended in the least if you still decide not to go for it :D
