Can someone tell me if the 10% annual reward that Target wants to give me will permit me to buy Disney Gift cards for 10% off? I know the regular 5% works and I searched their website and it has the 10% has some restrictions, but they don't list the restrictions!!

It does not.

I had the same question earlier this year. Somewhere (and I can't remember where) the restrictions are listed and gift cards are an exclusion.

Meijer has their offer again for $5 back in Mperks for every $50 you purchase in gift cards. I think it's going until the 16th if I remember right.

Thanks for the reply, did you use an actual gift card or a print out of the ecard or your phone. Just trying to see what will work best.

I did target gift cards in the target app yesterday. I went to “wallet”, clicked gift cards, added them, made sure they were checked to use, and then used the arrow to back up and showed the barcode to the cashier, and boom. Gift cards were taken off first, then the rest was put on my red card. 5% discount was applied to the balance that remained after gift cards were applied. It was the easiest target has ever been for me.

Ihave never used the target app. Do you sign up and just add the gift cards? When you go to check out you just
show her your phone and she scans the barcode? Should you include "other" things to buy so it won't be flagged?

Yes, I downloaded the app, added my target red card and gift cards in “wallet”, checked the little boxes to use the gift cards, and then all the cashier has to do is scan your barcode. I don’t know if it’s necessary to buy anything else, I did buy a 12 pack of cokes and some bread.

Just got denied trying to use a visa gc at Fred Meyer (Kroger) to buy one of their gc. They said you can't buy gc with gc. Should have tried self checkout. Got the visa for dog sitting and wish it had been cash. Just wanted the fm card to make getting gas easier. Will just use the visa once and then put the rest on Amazon I guess. And I know I shouldn't have asked but I wanted to do 2 transactions and it just seemed easier to ask.

Thank you! I had $9 worth of Amazon gift cards and got it for $33.50. For anyone who missed my last post, I hate Wells Fargo and need 10 swipes a month. My PP is linked to my WF debit card so I do get some swipes a month and instead of paying the fee for not getting the others I buy $1 Amazon gift cards to fulfill the rest of my swipes.

I hope Walmart & Target start offering the $1 option so I can buy Disney gift cards or other brands Amazon doesn’t sell.

Speaking of Amazon, my hubby won an Apple Ipad and it included the gift receipt from Amazon. We already have one so we sent it back to them and have the credit on our account! We are sooooo pleased! He won it from work.

That has happened to me at my Kroger in Virginia. I just go to self checkout now.

Thank you so much for this. I have a high yield savings account that I must use my debit card 12x a month for. I used to buy mindless stuff to accumulate the 12x. This month I bought Amazon giftcards and now the balance is stored in my Amazon account for when I actually NEED to purchase something. Definitely hoping that Target will start offering the $1 eGiftcard option.

Theoretically yes, in practice it's a YMMV. At last report the POS system allows it but some people get a hassle when trying to do it. So it's kinda up to your store how it will go for you. If you call they'll probably say no, so that probably won't help you determine the actual outcome. If you can use the GC on something else it can't hurt to try a small test run. I assume you already know if your stores even sell 3rd party gift cards (not all seem to have the Gift Card Mall display), in mine they have $25 and $50 Disney's. Last time I tried it no issues, not even a bat of the eye, but it's been some months since I did it.
