I would just leave it if it where me. If you do contact them they may indeed take back what they gave you.

If you go to the staples cashback page on their website it does say this on the left side of the page.

Cash Back Terms
Exclusions: Cash Back is not available on gift cards.

Special Terms: Cash Back not available on items that are placed in the Staples shopping cart prior to clicking through from Ebates.

Yes - However, the day I made the purchase (and I went back and checked the following day, too), that verbiage was NOT there and I have screenshots to prove it. When I didn't get the cash back right away, I went and made screen shots. And then it wasn't until later that I found the exclusion, which was under Help|Store Exclusions. I really had to search for it.

In the end, though, I don't know that I'm going to go through with it...sigh. So frustrating.

No, not that either. I spent $957.48 and got $23.62 from Ebates. All but $7.48 were gift cards.

I'm not sure what they did either but I agree with pp in that I would probably just leave it alone. They may indeed take back what you were given.

Regarding the Best Buy deal(s), it would be helpful for me if people told their experience with money back apps for in store BB purchases of gift cards. Seems like I've gotten cash back when they scanned my ibotta code, but I don't remember if I bought something other than gift cards as well. Has anyone gotten money back with the shopkicks code on a gift card only purchase?

I read on here about the Disney Gift card discounts at BJ's so I went to buy one. I ended up purchasing a $100.00 gift card for $94.99 but why is the $100.00 gift card a bigger discount than the $150.00 and it comes out cheaper if you purchase one $150.00 and two $25.00 gift cards than the $150.00
They gotta make their money somewhere :)

Anyone else having issues on the Disney Gift Card website? I've tried to transfer balances on a couple browsers and the site keeps erring out.

I just ordered a large amount of GC's from Bjs. Enough that I will have to sign for the delivery. I have received the tracking number and they should arrive tomorrow. All good! However, my credit card has NOT been charged?! Not even a pending charge? I know it's standard policy to not charge until the item is shipped. But this has been shipped. Is it possible they will charge when delivered?

Yes, I get shopkicks every time I go in and buy the gift cards with gift cards at Best Buy.

Mine have always charged around shipping time but I don't know if it is exactly on the shipping day. I never order enough to sign for so it always takes 3-7 days for my cards to arrive and the charge has always gone through by then.

Like @momto4obkids, I also use Shopkick when purchasing GCs at BBY, usually paid for mostly or entirely with BBY GCs. Highly recommend!

To activate Shopkick’s in-store purchase feature, you have to link the app to your smartphone and it generates a unique QR code that a cashier scans each time you make an in-store purchase. When the BBY cashier invariably asks me for my Best Buy Rewards number (or phone number), I say I don’t have one (even though I do) because you don’t earn any Reward points on any amounts paid for with GCs and I’d rather not draw too much attention to the amounts and frequency of GC to GC transactions I’m making in store. Instead, I have my iPhone ready with the Shopkick app and I offer up that I do have a Shopkick account and let the cashier scan the QR code. Just check your receipt later for the Shopkick line that your account’s been scanned in.

The Shopkick app specifically states: “Purchases of gift cards are ineligible for Kicks.” However, I’ve received Kicks for all my GC purchases within 1 day, every time. The usual rate is 2 Kicks/$1, which works out to about an 0.8% bonus when you consider the redemption rate for Kicks to GCs. Occasionally, usually during holiday weekends, the rate bumps up to 4 Kicks/$1, so you might want to wait and see until Father’s Day weekend.

Ebates also has a smartphone app with an in-store coupon that cashiers can scan and earn you 1%. Ebates’ page for BBY specifically lists “Point of Sale Activation (POSA) Cards” in the exclusions. I’ve done a small ($25) GC purchase in store to see if any cash back would credit. It did not. I’ve purchased a MacBook Pro from BBY using the Ebates in-store coupon, and after over a week of nothing showing, I submitted a Where’s My Cash Back ticket. For an in-store purchase, I had to scan my receipt and submit it as proof of purchase. I recall Ebates said BBY purchases can take up to 17 days to credit (probably because BBY’s return window is 14 or 15 days). DO NOT use Ebates when buying GCs at BBY. You won’t get anything. If you try to submit a ticket for your cash back, you’ll have to show them a receipt for GCs, which are specifically excluded.

Fingers crossed its just a glitch!
Same!!

Last trip, my wife and I stayed at PO Riverside, and went to the desk to pay everything off the night before we left. The CM was super nice, but when we said we were paying with a DIsney GC he got this sudden look of terror on his face. "A whole pile of gift cards?" he asked nervously. "No, just one! I transferred lots of $50 cards onto this one!" I replied. He breathed a huge sigh of relief. Haha. They better not take away the transfer option, or else lots of people will have a pile of GCs at times like that!!

Two BJ's questions:

If your order needs signed for, does it have to be the person who ordered? Or just someone at the residence?

I think people have mentioned getting some of the portal sites to work on these... which ones? I have ebates, shop at home, and topcashback...

ROFL. Been there before, back in the pre-transfer days, so we did proceed to unintentionally terrorize the CM :( It was a big, special trip that was a club level stay at the Grand Californian, so we're talking $,$$$ worth of gift cards here in $50 denominations. Thank goodness we were able to sit down and the CM could sit down at the desk and work our way through it- we probably would have held up a check-in desk downstairs FOREVER with that pile! Gosh, remember that deal a couple years ago at Target, buy 2 Disney gift cards get a $5 target card? We all hunted up every last $25 card we could find! Now THAT would have been awful to deal with without combining capabilities.

My last order was for a smaller amount. I just checked my statement and it was charged on the shipping day. I double checked this order and made sure I was checking the correct cc. Still nothing there. Very strange. So I May be getting free GC's! Actually I will end up calling them so I don't feel guilty. I'm all for a good deal but I don't expect things to come free!

So if the ibotta code works, that would be the better deal @2% back. I know it's worked for me before, I just wish I could remember if I added an item or not. That's good to know about ebates. Good to know about not giving your info too. Last thing I want is to have some sort of "note" placed on my account.

Out of those only Ebates gives 1% back. I have gone through Mr. Rebates to buy them and they give 3% cash back.

The Disney Gift Card website is getting weirder... All the buttons to transfer balances are gone now :badpc:

I just noticed that and came here to see if anyone else had seen this too... ahhhhh!! The FAQ still has info about transferring!

Fingers crossed its just a glitch!

I tried to do the same thing! GRR so frustrating! I emailed them asking how I am supposed to merge my gift cards when there is no option now! We shall see if they email me back or just fix the problem.
I wonder if they were having any issue with people combining gift cards that were either stolen or fraudulently obtained onto a legitimate card and then using them to pay off large balances:confused3??

I hope it comes back too, especially since I need >$1K for my DVC dues.
