Disney Gift Card Deals

I apologize as I'm sure this has been covered already (I try to keep up...), but you can buy Disney gift cards online at BestBuy.com using the Best Buy egiftcards you purchase from PPDG? Or do you have to purchase the Disney gift cards in an actual BB store?

Thanks!
You should be able to buy online and pay with gift cards.

Some folks report that online orders are immediately cancelled. I've been able to order online for in store pickup on several occasions.

So I went ahead and took the plunge. I already received my $100 card. I assumed that both codes would come together, but I guess not. So I'm still waiting for my $10 bonus code.

I have 3-$100 BB e-gift cards that are drained. I am within my 30 days so I started with ebay today. Sigh.

It truly does stink to come back from vacation to this mess. I can so relate. Hope you get yours sorted out quickly!

I don't see the point as I can't buy them with ebay GCs.

ebay will allow gc for gc tomorrow, so you could try then - but I don't think I would do that with PPDG.

Or you could jump on this PPDG/BB deal, take the GCs in today to convert to eBay and avoid draining, and have them ready to buy third-party GCs on eBay when they allow GC>GC again for the next month.

You should be able to use BB GCs to order Disney GCs on BB .com for in-store pickup or delivery, and at the register in stores. BB. com sells $25/$50 denominations, and stores carry $25/$50 and $25-500 loadable Disney GCs. You can earn 1% Ebates on your GC purchase from BB .com, and 2 kicks/$1 on Shopkicks in stores.

However, there are a few caveats. Online, if your order is only GCs and you are paying entirely with GCs, there's a very high likelihood your order will get cancelled. I've had GC-only orders paid for entirely with GCs go through, but most times they are cancelled. I don't think this is because BB .com doesn't allow GC>GC transactions per se, but because if you pay for a GC order entirely with GCs their online system doesn't require you to enter any billing details and then you'll get a cancellation email saying something like they couldn't verify your information (because there is no such information attached to your GCs). I think putting some charge on a credit card avoids this issue -- and this is why some people suggest adding a small filler item -- because you have to enter your billing information. (I suppose you could return this filler item after your GC order comes through.)

In stores, your particular store policies may vary. Generally, people here have had success using BB eGCs to purchase third-party GCs in stores, but your store may have a different policy. I've had cashiers not blink an eye at GC>GC transactions, and others tell me it's not allowed or it's allowed as long as the entire sale isn't paid for with a GC.

Cardcash is selling $10 Best Buy gcs for $9.75. Not a huge savings, but they are much nicer to work with than PPDG. The sale is marked “Preowned Paper Gift Card - 45 Day Guarantee”.

Please note, the deal at ebay is buy a $100 Best Buy gift card and get a $10 promotional Best Buy code for $10. The promotional code expires on 10/12/16. It is also possible that the promotional code could have extra restrictions on them (like can't be used to purchase a gift card.) So you might want to be patient on jumping on this deal until we get all the details.

You are very brave to order from PPDGC.

My used Best Buy gift cards saga took a strange (but good) turn.
When I originally bought them, I ordered $300 in Best Buy and a discounted Sears card for $88. The $300 was paid with Ebay cards and the $88 came from my Paypal account.

The good news is Paypal refunded me for both purchases.
They credited my Paypal account $388 then subtracted $300.
Then they put the $300 back on my Ebay cards.

So I have come out $88 ahead.
Maybe they will figure it out, and I'd be happy to clarify it, but dealing with Paypal is such a hassle.

Aw HECK no! I was tempted to by an ebay gift card sale I saw on doctorofcredit by a different ebay seller than PPDG but until this PPDG mess blows over I'm not touching any of it. What sealed the no touch deal for me was when people reported their Southwest cards are slowly being drained. Hopefully it was only a hack on PPDG and not ebay or a PPDG supplier but I'm still out until the dust settles in a few months. More savings for those who are willing to try though!

The Southwest cards are my current worry. I have to figure out a practical way to spend them without losing money.

Thank you for pointing this out. "Promotional code" is code word for "Not a gift card," so BB could put additional restrictions on them and promotional codes very often have expiration dates! I see this promotional code expires 10/12/2016.

Currently on the phone with PayPal, and while I'm on hold, I clicked onto the Doctor of Credit article that @bbsearchlight posted. He posted a link that is a Google search that actually brings up the gift card numbers and info! (All of them have been used, of course.) But what really infuriates me is that individual's e-mail addresses were released too! :furious: So, I'm guessing whatever thieves drained my gift cards now have my e-mail address. So, as a precaution, I am changing my e-mail password and would encourage others to do the same.

Were your drained GC's purchased over 30 days ago? Mine all were. I contacted PP through ebay and was waiting to see what came from that before I called. Please post an update when you can!
