This was my solution for my kids. 1st day at Disney I gave each kid x amount of money and told them this was there money for the week once it was gone it was gone. If they wanted souviner or ice cream or candy they paid. If they wanted something I would say we will be here 4 days do you want to think about it and we will come back or we wont be back this way again etc.
We did this every vacation , it was wonderful. No can I have this or that, they knew if they wanted to spend the money for it they could get it. We would count the money at night or in the morning , it was fun to do. They always came home with money

Disney Dollars are GREAT for the kids. My DD's, then 7 and 9, received Disney Dollars for B'days , Christmas, and Easter from various family and Santa. They each had around $100 by the time we went on our trip. No fussing, they made their own choices quite wisely, and each came home with a LITTLE cash. We're starting over for our trip next May! They can't wait to start their savings!
