I recently starting buying them online, I keep coming across disney store gift cards. How do I make sure I am buying the right card? they only work in the store and not in parks etc. I'm guessing they are merchandise credit or something.

Disney Store is for the store(s) like at Disney Springs. To pay for Disney tickets, resorts, cruises, etc you need the Gift Card (see photo), then use the web site to combine all you little cards into $1000 units.
