Disney GC at WDW

My son recently received a DisneyStore GC for his birthday. Can he use this at WDW? Thought it would be great for souveniers.

I think those can only be used at the Disney Stores.

Maybe you could buy Disney Dollars with it and he could use those.

Can you use a GC to purchase Disney Dollars?

I was able to use my GC for Disney Dollars at the DS near us last year and then took them to WDW in October. Have another one and will probably do the same if the option is still there. Even if you can use it at the World Of Disney Store in DD I like being able to use the dollars in the parks. Hope your son has fun spending them and that you have a great trip.

You can't use a TDS gift card at WDW. You also no longer can buy Disney Dollars with it. If you are buying your Park Hoppers from TDS you CAN use the GC towards those. They are cheaper in advance at TDS than at WDW.

I asked the manager at the Disney Store, and she said that you can use a GC for Disney Dollars. She even looked it up in the management manual for me.

Disney Store Gift Cards, while not accepted at WDW, may be used to purchase Disney Dollars (which ARE accepted in WDW) & passes.
DS Merchandise Credits may ONLY be used toward DS "merchandise", & canNOT be used for DD's or passes.

I believe they "have to" allow you to buy whatevery you want with a gift card, since it was paid in full at the time of purchase, so you should be able to purchase Disney Dollars.

They can restrict merchandise voucher type cards, like those recieved with the pre-order of a DVD or returning items w/o reciepts to in store merchandise only.
