disney free dining plan

is the disney free dining plan that is being offered from august until
september 22nd only available to persons booking vacation packages
through disney or would it also be available to someone renting dvc points
during that time?

Free Dining is not available to those renting points or staying on their own points. The free dining requires the purchase of a package...rack rate on room and at least a 1 day MYW ticket purchase. Renting points does not qualify.

However, someone renting points could certainly purchase the dining plan. Considering the savings usually found by renting, the cost of the dining plan would be reasonable.
