We are planning our 6th March break trip to Windsor Hills. We visited Disney about 6 years ago in Feb when the crowds were light. The past 5 years we have visited Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Universal, Gatorland etc and the crowds NOT too bad. How is Disney for March break? We are thinking about purchasing the 4 day deal. Has anyone tried the touring plan (parks to avoid) on certain days recommendations?

Hi Hon
I am a frequent March Break traveler and I usually use Josh's easyWDW plans but this year he has only posted Jan so far.
I am looking at Kenny the Pirate Walt Disney World planner.
If you are a seasoned WDW traveler and don't feel you have to see and do everything then you will be ok.
I have planned only one in park breakfast at Magic Kingdom for later in the morning (kind of brunch).
We are only doing 3 parks this trip,(skipping DHS) with a few days for R&R.(rest and relaxation), and of course shopping.
The weather in March will be a great break from Winter here.
Epcot flower and Garden Festival is something I enjoy and recently Disney Springs has had a few Scavenger Hunts for kids,,not sure if anything will be happening during March just yet. I enjoy going to Disney Springs for St Patrick's Day.
Another thing to consider is Universal Studios during March break.
Have fun planning!
Hugs Mel
Here is a link to Kenny's WDW crowd calendars.

We've gone to WDW 2 of the past 3 years, going again this year on March Break, as both my wife and I work at a school. I never looked at crowd calendars, we always picked our days by looking at the park hours and used our hoppers to change parks if it got too crazy. The way we looked at it was that we picked the rides we really wanted to do and got FPs for them and either got there early or stayed late to do extra rides, we rode Splash 3 times in a row one night around 11:00. I'm hoping with Easter being late this year, that the first couple weeks of March won't be as busy, but like a lot of people mention, there is no slow period anymore.

I just thought of something else that has happened during the past few years,,,,,,
all of the hours that are posted changed,,,Magic Kingdom was open early almost everyday and stayed open later than posted times.
This made all of our pre park opening breakfast reservation kind of a waste. This year we are doing more brunch and even though it
kills me to say this I am going to chill and start our days later (I am a 5 am "Let's Go! Let's Go! Kind Of Girl!:yay::yay:) my family not so much.:snail:

We are going back to Disney World after taking a break the last two March Breaks, Am going to arrive at the Magic Kingdom early. Use FPs. Will try to have a touring plan. I think some days will be less crowded but not by much. We are staying offsite so will try to avoid parks that have early magic hours.

What are the flight costs like on March break verses going in the Summer? I always assumed the flights at this time of year would make a trip prohibitive.

For our family of 4 it was about $600 each, we booked back in August. The last 2 times we went we flew out of the US because the $ was better and we got really good deals. Now with the $ where it is it didn't make sense this year. We paid a bit extra to fly direct and got early arrival and late departure times that give us almost 2 extra days. I've never priced summer flights as I can't do the heat.

My son and I are school staff so March is a good time for us to get away.
Summer in Florida is just too hot and humid for me. We booked flights out last May via West Jet,,I used the companion fare which brought our direct YYZ to MCO to $460.00 each. Early flight out-nice late flight back (which increases our holiday time.).I prefer to travel on West Jet than Air Canada, but for a short trip like this if Air Canada was cheaper I'd use them.

Edited to add my other two sons have done their own bookings for this trip.
They are using United and West Jet--their prices are between 400-540.00 but not the greatest times.(ones departure is at 3 or 4 am).

We used our WJ companion flight as well. Booked as soon as WJ released the flights. This card is great for booking in peak times as they have no blackout dates.

I guess it depends when is your March break. Ours is the first week of March (Montreal, QC) and it's very quiet at WDW. The only thing is the cost of flying to FL ($$$$) but we drive so it's not an issue.

Yeah, I'm a teacher, so my March Break is in the middle. I actually love going end of August, crowds are low and I love the heat, my husband can't stand the heat but we usually pay $400/pp then.

I also work for the school board as an ECE in Kindergarten. We fly out of the US and do the Sat-Sat of March Break. I have never paid more than $130 per person. We flew out of Pittsburgh last year (5 hour drive). We leave early on Friday and have a nice airport hotel that the kids love. The flight prices look a little high right now so I am going to be patient. I booked a pool view condo at Windsor Hills for only $109per night!

Hi fitmom3
The price out of Pittsburg is great, best wishes on getting another great deal this year. I've heard great things about Windsor Hills also.
I talked myself down and decided not to add on the ice cream social,,my son reminded me that we can try one evening at the TOWL
(Top Of The World Lounge) for a nice little celebration.
Have a Wonderful,Magical Holiday!
