We are stayin at Universal (PBH) for 6 nights at the end of March but want to go to Disney for a day. My youngest was last here when she we too small to ride the big coaster and we LOVE coasters! 2 questions:
What's the best transportation option from US to DIS (we won't have a car)?
And, I'm thinking we will go to Animal Kingdom in the morning, then the Studios in the afternoon. Is that a good plan? Other ideas?

Call Mears. They offer transportation between the parks. We went from WDW to SW several years ago and I think it was about $20 each way.

Not to hijack the thread, but what if you do have a car? How long is the drive from Disney to Universal?

It takes about 25 mins depending on traffic and your route. I go the back roads so I don't have to fool with I-4 and possible delays.

Hey Todd :goodvibes what are the roads that you use? We have always gone between WDW and Universal using the I4. Got a detailed map for this year so would love to have a good route that avoids the I4 as we did get get held up a couple of times last year. Very frustrating when the rides or dinner are calling :)

I would take I-drive south abuot 2miles and turn right on Sand Lake go about 1mile and turn left on Apopka Vineland. This will take you too World Dr at DW..All back roads very easy, just watch your speed..:thumbsup2

Ahh, I know the road you mean, I think we got on there by accident once or twice:confused3. If it`s the road I`m thinking is there a walmart on it? Just answered my own question and looked at our map. We have never gone further than the Walmart on that road, coming from WDW. Didn`t realise that we could have gone on to Universal from there. Thanks Donald :cool1:

Hey Carole...sorry I missed your post. I was at the Studios enjoying the Mardi Gras parade and Pat Benatar concert.

You can take the route Donald gave you or you could try Turkey Lake Road (turns into Palm Parkway) and then a left on Apopka Vineland. Make a right at The Crossroads and you're on Disney property. It takes about 20 mins.

From Universal to Disney property...the most direct route is:

Universal Blvd to Hollywood Way. Make a left on Turkey Lake Road. Turkey Lake turns into Palm Parkway at the intersection of Turkey Lake and Central Florida Parkway. Continue on Palm Parkway and make a left on Apopka Vineland Road (SR535). Make a right on Hotel Plaza Blvd across from The Crossroads and you're on Disney property near Downtown Disney.

It takes about 20 minutes and you completely avoid I-4.

Slightly off topic....but dbf just bought a gps..magellan maestro I think. Does anyone know if they are pretty good for getting around disney and to universal?
