booked a last minute trip to Disney - only 2 weeks away. Going with my 4 year old daughter and my mom - none of us have ever been. My mom has been sick and just got the all clear to go!!
We are staying at the four seasons. Going for 4 nights. Planning on doing one day at MK and one day at AK and then either a rest day between or a second day at MK.

She is dying to meet all the princesses. How do you plan the day to get to as many as possible!?

Well, your best bet would be to check for cancelations for Cinderella’s Royal Table. Your next best option would be to plan a day at Epcot because there are way more princess meet and greets there. They meet at various times throughout the day in world showcase.

At MK you will wait in one line for Cinderella/Elena and another for tiana/rapunzel. There is an interactive show called enchanted tales with belle. The kids can meet belle at the end. I would get a fp for that show if you’re mainly focusing on characters over rides. Tinkerbell is also in MK.

Thanks! Everyone told me that Epcot is better for older children and adults. Are there any meet and greets at Animal Kingdom that are worthwhile?

Pocahontas is at AK. Doug and Russell from UP, launchpad and Scrooge mcduck are there. I’ve seen Mowgli from the jungle book but not sure if that’s a regular occurrence. I think Mickey and Minnie in safari gear as well.

Adults do like to eat and drink around the world. It has more adult activities than most parks so I think that’s why it gets branded an adult park. Some kids love Epcot some hate it, it depends on the kid and the activities you do there. If you make a kid sit through all the movies in the countries they will probably hate it. But there is a lot to explore too.

But as far as characters there are a lot. There’s also a frozen ride that would be great for a 4 yr old. Elsa and Anna have a meet, belle, Milan, jasmine, Alice in wonderland, Mary poppins, Snow White, joy and sadness, one line for Mickey Minnie and goofy, baymax, wreck it Ralph and vanellope, and I’m sure I’m forgetting someone. When you go into the Disney app it will show you the character meet times for that day.

If your goal is specifically prinesses, AK isn't a great choice. There's Russel and Doug from Up, the fab 5, Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad, Chip and Dale, Pocahontas.

Epcot is the only place to meet Anna and Elsa, lots of prinesses meet in their countries in world showcase, and Akershus is a princess meal there, too. Also, Ralph and Vanellope meet in Epcot which was a big deal for my 5 year olds who had just seen their movies.

At MK, you can FP Ariel, Cinderella/Elena, Rapunzel/Tiana, and/or Enchanted Tales with Belle (she takes a pic but doesn't sign autographs). Merida and Jasmine also meet there, neither has FP available. Plus, lots more non princess characters.

Epcot also has akershus royal banquet hall. Breakfast is standard buffet (lunch and dinner are I believe more adventurous) also breakfast is less expensive. You get to see quite a few princesses (Snow White, aurora, Cinderella, belle, Ariel). So if you go there for breakfast you can see all of them, do an Elsa/Anna meet and greet and choose a few other princesses to see (Mulan, jasmine, etc.). If she is really into princesses and meeting them then I would do one day Epcot. Via Napoli is a great spot for dinner with kids as it’s more affordable for a sit down plus it’s pizza. And walking around with an adult beverage from a few of the different countries can lead to a nice relaxing day. Just make sure you get the times for the other princesses meet and greets if you do that... when Dd was 4 this is what we did anyway. Now that she is older we do less meet and greets and more rides. If you are doing a lot of the meets I would also recommend getting the photo pass because the photos from them are great.

At MK you can meet Merida, Cinderella/ Elena, rapunzel/tiana, Snow White is found right off to the left across from tinkerbell meet and greet. I think you can also find jasmine in there as well. Edited to add: Almost forgot you can meet belle at enchanted tales with belle. Also, you can meet Ariel as a mermaid at her meet and greet in the MK... plus CRT if you can get in...

So for a princess themed trip I’d do MK and Epcot. Now if you want to do FOP then add AK or if she likes toy story HS, if not I’d probably choose 2 days at the MK myself...

If princesses are your goal, I’d try to either add Epcot or swap out AK for it. You can start your day with breakfast on the boardwalk at Bon Voyage breakfast at trattoria al forno (Ariel, Rapunzel, Eric, Flynn rider) if you are able to get reservations. Then enter Epcot from the international gateway. Princesses have meet and greet times around world showcase. And you can do a princess dinner in Epcot at akershus

My 2 year old (almost 3) really enjoyed Epcot. Belle in her blue dress is her favorite so she was the first we had to see. There are a ton of princesses there and she LOVES the Frozen ride. If you book pre park opening Akershus you can hop on the frozen ride with very little wait (we had an 810 reservation and were on the first boat that launched). Anna and Elsa are also only in Epcot. The Nemo ride is fun as well.

If your daughter is a Snow White fan, Artist Point was awesome. Great dining experience.

This is your first trip to WDW, congratulations and to spend it with your mom and daughter should be magical in itself!!! It has been a long time since I had a little girl going to Disney (very male populated family) but I would make your DD a princess at BBB!!!! Nothing like having your own personal fairy godmother!!!! Also, I would schedule 1-2 character breakfasts that have princesses. The lines for the princess meet and greets can get long and you may not have an enjoyable day waiting in line. Unfortunately it’s not as easy as the commercials on TV make it look.
I am typically an AK lover but there may not be enough to keep your 4yo entertained. There is so much to do at MK that I agree with PP that I would do 2 days there and an Epcot day. (Maybe) the character meets are more plentiful there and the seas pavilion will keep her entertained for hours. If she loves frozen it’s a great park to visit too, there are just very few rides. At MK she should be big enough (unless she is short or a young 4) for most the rides at MK and you can ride 3 across in most too!! Just take your time and realize you won’t get to do everything. You May find once you get there she may enjoy the rides more than the princess greets.

When my DD was 4, EPCOT was her absolute favorite park other than MK. There are so many princesses there, plus Alice and Mary Poppins. Also, that is the only place to meet Anna and Elsa. Plus, it also has the Frozen ride. There is the Nemo ride, the Figment ride, Living with the Land, the boat ride in Mexico, the Kid Cot stations, the entertainers throughout world Showcase (drummers, acrobats etc.). If she is tall enough mine really enjoyed Soarin at that age. At age 4, my DD did not care for AK at all because it did not have a Princess presence, and we have a really good zoo at home. She had no interest in spending time looking at animals when she could be meeting princesses. Within an hour or two there, she was always begging to go back to MK or EPCOT.

When DD was that age, she cared more about the Princesses and characters than riding rides. That was what was important to her. If you can get a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table, there is something magical about eating in the castle and meeting the Princesses there.

It sounds like your DD is Princess meet focused. I would highly recommend subscribing to Kenny the Pirate's character locator. He gives great tips about the best times to meet the Princesses, when to line up for the shortest lines etc. You have to be careful at EPCOT - or anywhere that characters come out in sets rather than being out all day- because the lines will get cut off. I can recall one time we got to Mulan's line right as she was coming out for the meet and greet and the line had already been cut off. You typically want to be in line at least 10 minutes before the character comes out for the Princesses in EPCOT. Kenny's locator helped us for YEARS-- definitely worth the money!!!

Have a great trip!

Great tips! The evil step sisters were really fun to meet too! My daughter liked them. They were really interactive and spent a lot of time with her. I liked them a lot
