From Be Our Guest lunch:

I thought the food here was just ok, except for the Master's Cupcake. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the grey stuff! I didn't know that there was grey stuff INSIDE the cupcake too!

I am also dying to know just how they manage to find your table after you check in. It's like magic!

I don't see how the RFID chip would explain it. If the magic band had that kind of range, wouldn't the door to my room open up when I'm halfway down the hall? :) I had to get within inches of the sensors for the magic band to work for FP+ and as a room key.

Two totally different settings. Locating you is not the same as activating a lock. The location technology is set to scan the area to find you. The lock is set to unlock when it is practically touched. You wouldn't really want your room door unlocking if you were a block away. It would also create havoc in the FP line if those sensors were set to work as broadly. The CM wouldn't be able to tell who's FP was turning green.

Trying to decide between the BOG chicken or the BOG Shrimp and Scallop pastry for dinner, anyone have pictures of both? Also keep hearing conflicting stories about the Grey Stuff, I know the lunch dessert is a cupcake but how is the dinner dessert different? Pictures please? Thank you. Amy

I'm sorry I don't have pictures, but I will tell you about my experience there at dinner in July. I had the shrimp & scallop in puff pastry for dinner and it was truly amazing! I loved the flavor of the dish, didn't find it to be overly salty at all (and my taste buds are sensitive to salt...I don't cook with a lot of it), and the combination of the seafood with the veggies and pastry was just perfect. I would order that dish again in a heartbeat! I ate it all, and that was after DH and I shared the charcuterie for the appetizer, which was also excellent. I had a nice white wine with my dinner and I was in heaven between the food, service and atmosphere.

For dessert, I had the grey stuff dessert. It wasn't a cupcake at dinner when we were there. It was a dark chocolate cookie crust filled with the grey stuff and it was absolutely delicious! My sons also had it and loved it. In fact, I'm going to search for a recipe for it and see if I can make it for my son's birthday in January since he enjoyed it so much. I'd like to make a chocolate cake for him which he loves, and use the grey stuff as the filling and/or frosting. If you like cookies and cream then you will love the grey stuff. If you don't, then you would most likely be disappointed.

Again, sorry I don't have pics to share but we really enjoyed our BOG dinner. At first checking in was a little chaotic, especially since it was raining and everyone crammed into this tiny area to wait, but the wait didn't end up being as long as I thought it would be, and once we sat down and enjoyed the whole experience, the chaos was totally worth it. I went from being in the waiting area and saying to DH "never again!" To being inside the restaurant, experiencing the atmosphere, terrific service and delicious food, saying to DH "We HAVE to come back here for dinner next time!" ;)

Thank you so much for this review! Confirms my choices! Amazing that your food was exactly the order I am thinking. lol Can you you order it without mushrooms?

They offer the same exact desserts for lunch and dinner, with the exception of the Master's Cupcake which is replaced with the "Grey Stuff".

Our group has enjoyed just about every one of these!

The Masters Cupcake; Triple Chocolate Cupcake; and
Lemon-Raspberry Cream Puff

They are all filled inside.

Masters Cupcake - no description given but if I had to wager a guess:
Chocolate Sponge Cake, "Grey Stuff" icing and filling.

Triple Chocolate - Chocolate Sponge Cake, Chocolate Mousse filling, and Chocolate Ganache

Lemon-Raspberry Cream Puff - filled with Lemon Custard.
A No Sugar Added Dessert.

(why this is called "lemon-raspberry" I have no idea.
It's a lemon cream puff garnished w/a raspberry on top same as the triple chocolate cupcake)

Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake
Vanilla Sponge Cake, Strawberry Mousse Filling and Cream Cheese Icing

Chocolate Cream Puff
Filled with Chocolate Mousse topped with Whipped Cream

The "Grey Stuff"
Chocolate Shell, Cookie Crème topped with Lumiere’s special “Grey Stuff”

They are Delicious!

Awesome pictures. We'll be there in 3 weeks and from the menu / descriptions have been debating between the triple chocolate cup cake and The Grey Stuff. I'm a chocoholic and so think it will be the triple chocolate cup cake.

Is the grey stuff really sweet like buttercream frosting or more like a whipped cream? I can not make my mind up betwwen the Chocolate or the grey stuff cupcake for lunch. I really like the way butter cream tastes. Frosting can not be too sweet IMOP!:goodvibes

It is very light, and not overly sweet. It's nothing like butter cream, but it's so delicious. Keep in mind: You can get butter cream anywhere, but you can only get grey stuff at BOG.

When I had the scallops it was a SALT LICK. And I love salt. My DH couldn't believe I was complaining about too much salt. He tasted it and had to spit it into his napkin.
