Figment just returned for a nice, long trip to WDW. It was his first time of the Deluxe Dining Plan and he made the most of it.

We start at Rose & Crown (dinner, 10/19/11)
Appetizers

Mary and the Lads (shrimp cocktail)

Scotch Egg - one of our favorites at R&C. The sausage is very flavorful.

Trio of United Kingdom Pasties - Sausage Roll (long and narrow), Mushroom Wellington (half circle), and Beef Pasty (full circle). The mushroom wellington was the best!

Entrées

Sunday Roast - basically beef with gravy. A little dry, but still pretty tasty.

Grilled Sirloin and Fried Fish

Pan-Roasted Cornish Hen - really good flavor and very moist.

Desserts

Sticky Toffee Pudding, Bakewell Tart, No Sugar Added Trifle - The sticky toffee pudding was our favorite (the butter rum sauce was really good!)

Pretzel Bread!!!

Cheddar Cheese Soup and Pretzel Bread - Figment's favorite!

Roasted Duck Meatballs - Figment really liked these. They were very flavorful (so much so, that he ordered them again, when we went back for a second lunch later in the trip!).

Le Cellier’s Steak and Potato Skillet

Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - as always, very yummy. The mushroom risotto is Figment's favorite. It seemed a little different from the one at dinner (more on that to come), but still very good.

Sorbet - very light flavors, but kind of hard to tell what they were.

Chocolate Moose - very cute!

Smokey Haddock Stew - very rich (lots of cream and Kerrygold butter)

Dunbrody "Jaffa" Kiss - lots of chocolate! It was really good. Figment couldn't wait to have a full sized one at Raglan Road

Cosmic Ray's (dinner, 10/20/11)

BBQ Pork Sandwich - pork had pretty good flavor, but the bun was very soft (fell apart really easily)

Hot Dog (after a trip to the toppings bar)

Continuing with Fig Goes Sig and Food & Wine...

Biergarten (dinner, 10/21/11)

The Biergarten is a buffet, so Figment got to try a lot of different things. Clockwise, pretzel rolls (kind of likes the ones at Le Cellier, just smaller), potatoes with gravy (it was either the brown sauce or the hunters sauce), sauerbraten, roast pork, warm german potato salad, sausage, and roast chicken.

Appetizers

Soupe a l' oignon gratinee (onion soup)

Bisque de Homard (lobster bisque)

Entrees

Plat de Cote de boeuf au cabernet avec pates (braised beef short ribs) - Figment's favorite entree at Les Chefs. The meat is very tender (fork tender)

Demi poulet fermier roit, Pommes puree au basilic et tomate braisee (rotisserie chicken)

Desserts

Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes (apple crepe with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce)

Assiette de sorbets du jour (sorbets with fresh fruit)

Profiteroles au chocolat (pastry with chocolate sauce and ice cream) - Figment's favorite dessert at Les Chefs - chocolate and ice cream!

And of course, no meal at Les Chefs would be complete without saying "hi" to the chef! Figment got to met Remy!

Up next is Figment's first foray into Signature Dining...Artist Point (dinner, 10/22/11)
Appetizers and "Drinks"

The Mickey Mouse - essentially a shirley temple, cherry syrup with sprite. Figment got to keep the straw!

Bread with butter - the butter was sprinkled with black Hawaiian sea salt

Salt Roasted Heirloom Beets

Crab Cakes with Asian Slaw - the crab cakes had really good flavor, but the Asian slaw was a bit to peppery

Entrees

Char-grilled Buffalo Striploin Steak - this is one of the Signature dishes at Artist Point, so Figment had to try it. The meat is very lean, so the server recommended having it either rare or medium rare.

Cedar Plank Roasted Wild King Salmon - very moist and flavorful

Desserts

Artist Point Cobbler - very yummy! The cobbler had a nice crunchy top and a warm fruit filling.

Chocolate Indulgence - very chocolatey - more chocolate than Figment could eat! It was very dense and sweet - kind of like eating a chocolate bar...

Kona Cafe (breakfast, 10/23/11)

Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes with Sausage - the pancakes had large pieces of macadamia nuts and the pineapple and butter topping was really good.

Big Kahuna - lots of food!

The Somoan - sadly this was the least successful item. The pork didn't really have any flavor.

Columbia Harbor House (mid-day snack, 10/23/11)

Lobster Roll, chips, and a soda - the roll was okay, but it was kind of hard to really get much of the lobster taste given all of the dressing it was mixed with. Figment is glad he's tried one, but not really likely to go back.

On to Figment's second Signature dinner...Narcoossee's (our favorite!)
Appetizers

Bread and Hawaiin sea salt dusted butter

Pressed pot coffee - Figment really liked the press pot idea - so much so, he bought one of the Mickey press pot for a souvenir

Jumbo Lump Crab Cake - these were so yummy!

Rhode Island Calamari - also really yummy! The calamari was nice and tender, but the outside was wonderfully crunchy.

Entrees

Surf and Turf - filet mignon and lobster tail - very yummy!

Crab-crusted Flounder

Steamed Whole Maine Lobster - YUM! This is Figment's favorite (out of everything he ate this trip)!

Desserts

Seasonal sorbets (no sugar added) with fresh fruit - nice and light

Florida Strawberry-Lemon Tart - the server said it is realtively new to the menu. It had a good flavor, slightly tart (lemon) and still sweet (strawberries)

Almond-crusted Cheesecake - the best cheesecake Figment had on the trip!

Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse Dome - Chocolate! This is Figment's favorite dessert at Narcoossee's. The mousse is nice and creamy, but the best part were the chocolate pearls scattered on the dish that added a nice crunch. YUM!

Le Cellier (dinner, 10/24/11) - we went to an early dinner seating, so there were still folks having "lunch". The table scape was bit fancier, but not much else seemed that different from lunch time.
Appetizers

Pretzel bread and butter - it's still the same pretzel bread as at lunch time (not that I'm complaining because I like the pretzel bread)

Le Cellier Lobster Chopped Salad - nice chunks of lobster in the salad

Seared Scallops - the scallops were tender and sweet

Entrees

Grilled Bone-In Rib-Eye - a good steak, cooked perfectly.

Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - very similiar to the lunch filet mignon, except the risotto seemed to have larger pieces and variety of mushrooms. Sadly, Figment couldn't tell the difference between the Canadian beef and the one served at lunch time...both were really yummy.

Trio of Chocolate - Canadian Club Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Sorbet, and warm Chocolate-Almond Cake - surprisingly, the chocolate sorbet was the best. It had a nice light flavor. The chocolate-almond cake was a bit to strong in the almond flavor for my taste. The mousse was good and chocolatey.

Yak & Yeti (lunch, 10/25/11) - This was Figment's first time at Yak & Yeti. The food was pretty good, but service was a little weird because the server made us order our appetizers, entrees and desserts all at the same time. When we indicated we'd rather wait and order the desserts at the end, she said we should order them now so she would haven't to bring the menus out again...
Appetizers

Pork Egg Rolls - nice and crispy on the outside

Dim Sum Basket for Two (pork pot stickers, shrimp siu mai, cha su bao, and pork sie mai) - a pretty good portion size. The flavors were okay.

Entrees

Baby Back Ribs - the ribs were fork tender and had good flavor

Duck with Anandapur Glaze - Figment said the duck was really, really good!

Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp

Desserts

Fried Wontons - this seemed to be one of Yak & Yeti's signature desserts so Figment had to try it. Sadly, not being a fan of cream cheese made these really tough to like. However, the crispy part of the wonton and the pineapples were good.

Appetizers

Bread basket and olives - the "music sheet" bread (tall one in the back) was really interesting (and tasty). All of the olives and marinated mushrooms were yummy. Figment thought the bright red one was going to be spicy, but it wasn't!

Calamari Fritti - really yummy - nice and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside

Prosciutto di Parma - this was Figment's favorite appetizer at Tutto Italia! There was so much proscuitto!

Entrees

Risotto Ai Gamberi E Aragosta - good flavor and very creamy

Brasato Di Manzo Al Vino Rosso - Figment really likes this dish

Desserts

Tiramisu - One of Figment's favorite desserts

Dessert Trio (Chocolate mousse, cannoli, and tiramisu in a chocolate cup) - the server said this is the best dessert because it's a little of a lot of things and Figment agrees!

Whispering Canyon Cafe (breakfast, 10/27/11)

Chocolate milk shake - Figment liked it, but it was very rich and thick. He was a bit surprised because it was essentially a vanilla shake with chocolate sauce in the bottom. He needed to borrow a spoon to mix the chocolate into the shake (and to eat it!).

Barbecue Eggs Benedict - Figment liked these eggs benedict because the beef had a much better taste (than the pork at Kona Cafe)

Crab and Spinach Dip for Two - Good flavor and it had nice big chunks of crab

Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - Figment never really understood all the excitement over the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake until he had it on this trip. It's so good! (He always thought - wrongly - that it was kind of like sticky toffee pudding.)
