Day 6

Lunch- Pizzafari

Once again.. not New York Pizza but very good. The Caesar salads came with it and were also very good.

DISNEY2170.jpg

Chocolate Mousse came with it.. this was really good! I feel like it looked pretty fancy for a counter service dessert..

DISNEY2171.jpg

Snack before Dinner-- Pinocchio Village Haus

We got fries and hot chocolate to share while watching Spectromagic.

DISNEY2267.jpg

Dinner- Ohana

Wow. Just wow. This place was our hands down favorite. Everything was soo good and way more than I expected. My only complaint is the amount of food! There was way too much for us to even think of finishing.

We started with Lapu Lapu's. These were HUGE! We probably could have.. and should have... split one. But hey.. where else but on vacation can you say you drank a huge drink out of a pineapple? :)

DISNEY2440.jpg

Bread.. wonderful

DISNEY2452.jpg

Salad.. the dressing was awesome.

DISNEY2446.jpg

Wings.. didn't try these.. not a huge fan of wings.

DISNEY2447.jpg

Pot Stickers.. very good

DISNEY2448.jpg

Noodles.. delicious!

DISNEY2449.jpg

Veggies.. very good

DISNEY2450.jpg

Dipping Sauces

DISNEY2451.jpg

Meat.. I was satisfied before the meat even came around.. but this was good too. We tried everything but the shrimp.

DISNEY2453.jpg

Our Anniversary cupcake...

DISNEY2458.jpg

And last but not least.. the bread pudding. Wow. SO GOOD.

DISNEY2457.jpg

I would come back here in a heart beat.

Day 7

Breakfast- Chef Mickey's. We weren't happy with this meal. I thought 1900 Park Fare was soo much nicer. Probably the same food but presented a lot better! This place was also a lot noisier, we waited a long time before we were seated even though we had ADR's and were seated right next to the kitchen door. Probably won't go back..

Ben's First Round.. Pancakes, Melon, Biscuit, Tater Tots, Hash Browns, Eggs, bacon

DISNEY2465.jpg

My First.. Cheese Omelette, Bacon, Cheesy Bacon Hash Browns- (these were good), watermelon, sticky bun, vegetable omelette- (I think this would have been good if it was hot), Mickey Waffle, Biscuit

DISNEY2467.jpg

Ben's Second- Pancakes, Tater Tots, Sausage and Sticky Bun

DISNEY2481.jpg

My Second- More cheesy hash browns, biscuit with sausage gravy (I didn't eat this..), french toast

DISNEY2482.jpg

Our Anniversary Cupcake

DISNEY2480.jpg

Our waitress was also absent for most of our meal and when we came back with our second rounds our old plates were still on the table! This was after waiting for about 15 minutes after finishing our first round. We were at a really small table and had no room as it was with one plate each so we had to eat while holding our plates until she came around!

Snacks in EPCOT

Pretzel from Germany

DISNEY2568.jpg

Soda Choices from Club Cool.. some good some bad.. :rotfl:

DISNEY2553.jpg

Roasted Pecans from a cart around World Showcase.. YUMMM

DISNEY2591.jpg

Dinner- Everything Pop

Ben's Chicken Tenders

DISNEY2597.jpg

I had pasta alfredo... again.

Day 8

Lunch at Earl of Sandwich This is one of my favorites :) The best place for a QS in my opinion.. :)

My Meal- The Original 1762 (Hot Sandwich) - Fresh roasted beef, creamy horseradish sauce & cheddar cheese. Fresh made to order on Artisan Baked Loaf. - $5.95 with Macaroni salad

DISNEY2693.jpg

DISNEY2695.jpg

Ben's Meal- Chicken Caesar - Grilled chicken, mixed greens, fresh croutons, tossed in classic caesar dressing and topped with shredded Parmesan. - $5.95 but as a wrap with chips

DISNEY2694.jpg

DISNEY2696.jpg

Snack- Cooke's of Dublin

The Doh- Bar- fried Snickers bar. This was not was I was expecting. It was pretty much fried breading with melted chocolate inside and a few peanuts. I think a different candy bar would have been better.. although I don't think you can choose. We also waited way too long for this..

DISNEY2705.jpg

Hope you enjoyed our pictures! :goodvibes

Chef Mickey's (dinner). This was, by far, the worst meal we had during our 9 day stay. There was food on the floor and on the buffet bar. The waitress took forever to refill our drinks and to bring our ticket. The characters came by our table but I had to snap the pictures really quickly before they moved on to other tables.

My most recent trip was to Disney for the marathon, so food was...not a priority. :confused3 I know. So instead of a really dining review I'll just post it here.

We got in late Friday night.
Breakfast was the traditional Mickey waffle from the Poly. (I ordered fruit loops- Silly me...crazy marathon food)

That mickey waffle smelled so good!!

Stopped into Starring Rolls for a snack for later. Took a pic for you! PS I really wanted a corn muffin, and it was impossible to find...anywhere!!

We ate at the Wave for lunch. Df ordered the crab nachos from the bar appetizers. He liked them. I'm not a crab fan so I just ate some of the bean salsa. It was fine, cold (meant to be) and cilatro-y

We both got the Artic Char and edamame stew. VERY yummy but it needed some nice hearty bread, or some starch...we kept craving it throughout eating the fish. It was delicious though.

Dinner was at the Kona Sushi Bar. I know what you're thinking...sushi before the marathon?!? But we eat it all the the time, so it a normal food for us. The main building of the Poly was packed by the food places (oh btw we stayed at the Poly thus all the poly food :cool1: ) There were 4 people in front of us at the line at the Sushi bar, and it about an hour to order and the get the food. There was one or two poor waiters in charge of taking orders and in charge of the few tables there. There was a menu posted but I knew there was more, and they could be found on the paper menu at the tables. We both ordered the shrimp tempura roll and citrus hamachi (yellowtail), and the pineapple bread...we needed to carb load and plus it's delicious (it came with the macademia nut butter). If we had eaten there, it would have been free, but alas since we took it to go, we have to pay for it. The rolls were decent, but they didn't give the wasabi OR ginger, both of which I love. So something was missing. Df likes them plain so he loved them.

So this day was really not about the food. Df finished before me and when he heard I finished he ordered some room service. We both had injuries and were not about to head out quite yet.
DF ordered a cheeseburger but he had devoured it before I got to the room. He ordered my a turkey club (i have no idea why) and a large plate of fries...I didn't take a pic but I managed to take a pic of the sandwich like an hour later. All I ate was the pickles, and picked on the bread.

I also picked on my snack: a butterfinger cupcake. I cut it in quarters to make it somewhat more manageable. It was yummy but very rich! Df had a peanut butter cupcake. We picked on these throughout the stay, but honestly most of it got thrown out. This was not due to the taste, just overall quesy stomach and too rich. I think the pb one was better

Later that night we managed to make it out to MK, and I have to grab some corn dog nuggets. Hot and fresh as always

We came back to the room, and were still hungry (um, yeah 26.2 miles! ) We wanted pasta, and they don't have that at Capt. Cooks, and we were not up for a restaurant so Room Service again!! The only pasta was on the kids menu so we ordered the Mickey Ravioli (mine without sauce) and it came with soup and salad. I worried it wouldn't be enough food, so I went to Capt Cooks and picked up an adult grilled cheese, and what I thought was apple crumb cake, but was really apple pie?! The kids meal was plenty! Definitely a good deal- $9. However, we failed to realize room service included a delivery fee and tip included, so we tipped on top on that. BEWARE!!

The adult grilled cheese was yummy, but I could only handle about 1/2 of it...barely. The taste of boursin cheese is VERY overpowering. It's delicious but after a while it was sickening. The apple "pie" was fine, but I really wanted crumb cake...I want some now :(

Monday started at Kona Cafe. Our first time for breakfast. We both had the Big Kahuna, but I modified for no french toast. All I can say is DELICIOUS!!

For an afternoon snack, we stopped at La Cava de Tequila. DF ordered the chicken tostadas:

While I had this:

A Margarita Flight! Some were nasty, some were yummy, all were expensive. $18 :scared1: I'm glad I tried it once, but that was a bit expensive for my taste.

Lunch was at Sunshine Seasons. Df had the seared tuna salad and a side of mac and cheese.

I had the vegetarian noodle bowl, minus the bowl and the broth. It wasn't bad, not great either. It filled my noodle craving.

I opted to skip dessert at SS, but decided to head over to Norway and try a cloudberry horn. And I was glad I did. Crispy, sweet and delicious. The cream had a slight berry taste, and there was a lot.

We had originally had ADRs on Sunday for Boma, but definitely could not handle it, so we managed to get one at 8:40 on Monday. I'm almost ashamed to show what I ate. I'm normally quite adventurous, but I still felt not so hot, and honestly I was disappointed at the food selection that night. I ended up eating mostly the kids mac and cheese. :rolleyes1
The peanut rice was yummy!

Salads:

Dessert: Couldn't skip the passion fruit tart and I ate it with the cassava cake to get a tropical/coconut taste

** Side note about transportation. We've never gone so late to Boma and had assumed we could just catch a bus to MK and get to the Ticket and Transportation Center, or if we had to, Downtown Disney. Well we finished around 9:30 and headed down to the bus stop and the bus from MK was there. We waited for everyone to get off. The driver noticed us and told us MK was closed and he's not taking new passengers. We just said we needed to get to the Poly so we could take the monorail at MK. He paused, radioed the person in charge, and actually took us right to the Poly. It was so awesome. I'm not saying this is normal but it was a big relief and one reason why we love Disney so much!!

We decided to make another ADR for Kona because it was so good. This time I tried the french toast (and I'm so glad I did) and subbed for all sausage. Yummy yummy yummy sausage.

(The pineapple and macadamia nut butter came on the side...also ask for the strawberry sauce too!!) I would eat this everyday. Everything is yummy, the eggs (egg beaters for me), delicious potatoes, really great sausage, and the wonderful pancakes and french toast.

Lunch was at Wolfgang Puck Express.
Meatball pizza

Veggie Pizza

Close up

We grabbed a dole whip, pineapple, brownie, and a danish at Capt Cook. I got one for free as a magical moment. You HAVE to have the dole whip with fresh pineapple...so much better than with the juice. :cloud9:

We ate dinner at the Whispering Canyon in August, 2009 (date is wrong in the pics 'cause I was having camera "issues"). I thought I had better pictures. My husband, daughter and I each ordered the skillet and it was brought out in one big platter. Much more than we could eat. Our son ordered the burger and fries. For dessert, we had the cheesecake, pecan pie and plain vanilla ice cream.

I'm trying to sort through my photobucket accounts (have several because of bandwidth issues) and I just found some T-Rex pictures. Hope I haven't posted these before. We ate dinner there in August, 2009.
