Tell me about the in room celebration. I'm planning the Christmas one this year. We'll need to add items to accommodate three kids and we have a peanut allergy to deal with. I' d love details on customization and anything else you may want to add.

For my son I had ordered the Discover Disney Magic package, it was delivered to bell services and they brought it to the room for us while we were at MK. There was a mix up and from the way it sounded when I called them it hadn't even been made and it was to have been delivered already. When we finally got it that evening there was A LOT of extra stuff in it, 4 pairs of mickey vision glasses instead of 1, 2 autograph books, 2 pin sets, extra bags of snacks etc....

They are pricey but the reactions were SO worth it. Even as teens my kids loved them. When you place your order just let them know what your needs are and they will go over options, prices, etc...

Just a warning not to give them time frames or plan a surprise that might be time sensitive. My DF planned to propose to me in our room and requested a floral arrangement from Disney Florist to be placed in our room after 5pm. They said no problem and were told it was for a proposal. When we got back to our room around 1pm for a mid-day break, the floral arrangement was already set up and it threw off his proposal plans. While it all worked out, I just thought it was insensitive of them to not make good on such an important request. And FWIW, if they had told him they couldn't guarantee that, he would have altered his plans accordingly.

I remember reading that review not too long ago...I'm thinking about getting the Discover Disney Magic for myself as a 40th birthday souvenir (I've been saving my pennines!). What exactly was in it. The website doesn't say much. If you don't mind, what did it cost? Also not on the website. It looks like a fabulous package. Do you have any suggestions for something else that might mark my special day? I'm already going to order the Dreaming of a Disney Christmas for our Dec trip and I have Memories by Betsy doing up Halloween baskets for my three little ones for our October Halloween/birthday trip. The planning is so much fun!pixiedust:

Luckily I recorded it all so I could go back and check what all was in there lol.
It came all wrapped up in yellow cellophane with a big red bow on it and the stuffed Mickey poking out the top. The backpack is HUGE, there was a little foam Mickey keychain on the zipperpull (the same kind you can get in the parks for like 3 for $5) which was good because it fell off lol. The bottom compartment is a soft side cooler and it had a portable hand sanitizer on that zipper. Inside the backpack was:

1 Red fleece throw blanket with a Mickey head embroidered on it
2 Pin starter kits with lanyards
2 Autograph books
2 Pens with the mickey heads on top
2 packs of hand wipes
1 random lanyard
4 pairs of Mickeyvision glasses
1 Little Black Book of Disney
1 box of games
4 Mickey Head Rice Krispie treats
1 bag of Minnie's Bake Shop cookies
2 bags of Chip N Dale Pretzels
2 bags of Goofy's Gummies

The cooler worked pretty well, just make sure you wipe it out and leave it open every evening to dry from the condensation. As I said, it is a really large backpack and since we went in April it wasn't to uncomfortable, but I can't see using it when we go back in August. For the times your going it shouldn't be to bad. It eventually ended up riding on the back of my ECV anways lol.

Except for the rice krispie treats (it typically only comes with 2) you're only supposed to get 1 of everything but as I mentioned it was supposed to be at bell services by noon (Our flight got in at 11:30 so I wanted it there as a surprise for DS). When I called them at 2:00 there was a lot of stumbling around as to what could have delayed it so thats what led me to believe it hadn't been made yet and that's why he got extras. I'm not sure what time it finally got there, we went to MK and didnt get back to our room until almost midnight and it was there waiting for us.

The total cost with tax and delivery was $185.73

For the Princess in room celebration the total cost was $498.84

Here's an idea of how big the bag is:

Thanks for all the great information. I'd see if they could customize the lanyard and take out some of the candy for peanut free things. Otherwise it sounds great. I think I'll go for it!
