Disney Florist Question

Here's the back ground. I ordered Midkey ears that lit up a couple of years through them and almost didn't get them for the Halloween party. They were suppose to be delivered to our resort a couple of days before the party and they weren't there. So I finally called the day of the party and they said that a couple of weeks couldn't quarantee the delivery date. I ordered them 4 months ahead of time and confirmed a couple of weeks ahead of time. They made a special delivery to get them to us. That was nice and all but I wasn't too happy them.

Now I called to see if they had any special Christmas hats since we're now going to the Christmas party, I want to have a surprise waiting for DH when we get there. They only have the standard black and I think she said pink also. Their merchandise is so limited and expensive I was wondering if there is an alternative to Disney Florist. I know it's Disney and everything is expensive, but they are ridiculous. One of the selections are a bag of chocolates, cookies, 2 candy bars, some cheap wine, and 2 wine glasses for $117, you can buy that crap in the grocery store for about $25 if that much.

I just want an alternative, something better than what Disney Florist has to offer. Any ideas anyone?

I've never used her but Memories by Betsy was just recommended to me. I was looking at Disney Florist as well and was wanting to get Christmas Ears. I think it might be due to the fact that the Christmas stuff has not been released yet.

Can I ask if you a ? about Disney florists though. I know there is a delivery fee of $9 to the resort we plan on staying at but is that the only fee? I saw something towards the bottom about a $25 handling fee. I know DH ordered the HUGE champagne basket and a dozen roses to our resort for our anniversary in March but I refused to look at the bill and he can not remember. Right now I am looking at ordering 3 of the Christmas ear things and some of the other places just in handling it would be $50.

I ordered 2 pairs of light up Mickey ears with our names on it and it ended up costing around $50. That was for the ears (I think they cost around $8 a piece, personalization $8 each, tax around $2.50, and delivery $9) So that comes up to about $43.50, so no we weren't charged a handling fee.

I've put in an order to Betsy and she will get what you want, except for food items. I'm getting a 22" plush Donald and Daisy, a Poly picture frame, 2 Santa Mickey ears personalized, and 2 lanyards for $187, alot better than Disney florist had to offer.

Thanks for letting me know. I was wanting to do a basket for each of the kids but I guess to cut down on some of the costs I could make one basket for them all. Do you know what Christmas Mickey hat you are getting? I think I might wait until some of the Chrsitmas stuff comes out so I can determine what I want to do. We aren't going to WDW until 12-18 so I have time.

What I'm getting looks like a standard Santa cap with Mickey ears on the side. I called the Disney Florist before I knew about Betsy and was told that what ever Christmas items they have now is all they're going to get. I was also told that they only have the standard ears either in Black and I think pink was available also. From what I understood when I talked to Disney Florist is what ever they receive is all they can put in a basket, I don't think they will find anything special for their customers. If all else fails I would either make a basket and bring it with me, have it shipped to your resort, or call Betsy. Good luck.

I want to say THANK YOU to the person that mentioned Betsy (and to the OP!!!) I emailed her today about a Star Wars/Honeymoon basket for us in November. She had great ideas, and is very affordable!!! I've ordered an AWESOME basket to surprise DF, with Jedi and Princess Leia Mickie & Minnie, autograph book and pen, and wedding stuff like an ornament, frame and figurine.

I have been using Betsy every year for the past 4 years and she does a great job!! She can get you anything you want (except food items)!! She delivers the baskets in the morning directly to the resort. If you check in and your room is ready they will bring the baskets to you, within 30 minutes of your arrival. If you arrive before your room is ready and you head somewhere.... and if your room is ready before you get back it is highly likely the baskets will be in the room when you get there. She charges a $28 fee for the first basket and $10 for each additional basket. That includes her gas and shopping costs. You pay the same price for the items that you would in the parks. I will keep using her!
