While watching the food network holiday special on Disney, my family and I saw the Christmas tree offered by the Disney Florist. We looked it up online and saw the price was $250. As a family of five, and this being our first and last trip to disney at Christmas time as a family we are contemplating purchasing one. Just wondering if any one has purchased one or seen one in person, that could help us better make this decision. Looking at it in two different perspectives we can not make up our minds. If you could please give us your opinion of whether or not you think this tree is worth the price or just a waste of money?

Yes, we purchased one from them(an artificial one) 10 years ago while there for Christmas and we have it to this day. The front desk at OKW wrapped the tree for us and shipped it home. It is still lovely, filled with the Disney ornaments that came on it. If you choose to purchase it, enjoy it and know that you will for many years to come.

For ME it is a waste of money 250.00 for a Christmas tree!!! But that is me. I can do a lot more things and I could have fun with that money else where. There is shopping for something really nice or doing something special. But like I said that is me. I would bring the stocking from home and fill them for the morning of Christmas and string up some lights in the room to make it more festive. So I guess it is on worth of money spent.

I'm not sure if thats a full size tree or what. If you look at places like harry and davids, and jackson and perkins and other specialty item stores.

They seem to table top size x-mas trees. You could order and have it shipped to the resort. Prices vary according to size and how much they are decorated. I've seen some start around $50 up to mid 100's.

I'm not sure what size your looking for just an alternative.

We got one of these last year when we stayed at the Poly for Christmas. The tree is about three feet tall and I think it looks fine on a table top or on the floor. I thought it was alot for a tree but it is very cute with alot of decorations on it. I paid the extra money to have it shipped home and we just got it out this year so we could enjoy it again. I think I enjoy it even more this year - it reminds me of all of my memories from our trip last year that was so special!

Our older son surprised us with a tree from Disney Florist when we were at the GF in 2002. We checked in on 12/24. Four of us went down to the marina. When we returned there was this beautiful glowing tree. The info that came with it says it is a 6-6.5 foot tree. The GF conceirge folks did ship it home for us with our cc info.

Every Christmas since it has graced our dining room. I was just doing my crossword and sudoku in front of it a few minutes ago. I'm sure he paid a pretty penny for it but it is now priceless to us. It was our last long WDW vaction with him. Our memories of that trip and of his generosity will always be with me.

We stayed at CSR last Christmas. I took a small tabletop tree with us along with some disney ornaments. I put the tree on top of the dresser. I also took the kids stockings from home and hung them from the corners of the beds. I brought garland to decorate the bedframe along with the stockings. Also in the windows (we had 2 adjoining rooms) I hung santa lights and attached window clings. I turned the lights on each morning before leaving for the parks. This was really fun to see when we returned in the dark. I was able to do the decorating the night we checked in and it made it very festive for the week we were there! I enjoyed doing the decorating myself and I didn't spend much extra money since we had most of the things already. Instead I surprised my DH, DS & DD with a segway tour (which they loved!).

They don't carry the 6ft tree anymore, yes you have a wonderful son that tree did cost a pretty penny ;)

I think I saw table top trees on the Hallmark site that were pre-lit, pre-decorated with a theme, that could be sent to your resort. They were a lot cheaper and still pretty.

I agree that it is alot of money but, We will be going next Christmas and I will probably spring for one! I know that I could ship a tree and decorations down there much cheaper but, there is just something about it really coming from Disney! I was in need of a stocking for myself and when I saw the food network special I called at once to order one! I can't wait for it to arrive but, I told my husband to hide it from me until Christmas. We adults need Santa to visit us too!!!! It was a whopping $62 after shipping but, once again, it just means more to me since it really came from my second home! I can't be there this Christmas, so this is the next best thing!

I would say if you want it, disregard the price and get it! You can take your lunch to work for a couple of months to save up the money to justify it! Like I tell all of my friends, we pretend to be poor all year long so that we can go on Vacation and pretend to be rich!

We don't splurge on nice cars or expensive furniture or clothes so that we can splurge when we go to Disney! It's all about what is most important to you!

Merry Christmas and know that tree or no tree, you are lucky to be there for the Holidays!

Yup, that sounds like us too. :)

That's too bad. I wonder why?

chamonix and chrome...I LOL at your posts...we are the SAME WAY! we will scrimp between trips to WDW (well, I mean, we enjoy nice dinners and stuff, but we are more into being wise with our money in between trips) but when we get to WDW...we toss money around like we are Rockefellers!

To the OP...at first I was going to post NO WAY would I spend that kind of $$ on a tree. But after reading many responses that tell of what great memories they are, well, now I want to go next Christmas...and I WILL BUY A TREE!

I mean, if you can buy it without having to sacrafice anything else, then I say go for it!

just another thought!!!

there are so many wonderful xmas trees around wdw that you can enjoy each and every day.

For me, seeing all of them and the one in my resort would be sufficient.
If that is not enough for you and you really enjoy your own tree in your own room, than by all means indulge.

if I weigh it out for me, the total time in the room plus all the magical events during the xmas season, I would not require a tree in my room at all.

But I might bring some garland or xmas decorations to adhence our room

If the tree from the florist seems to high, you could ship an inexpensive tree to you resort. The have 4 ft prelit trees at Walmart.

Then, make a quick trip to DTD once you arrive. Have a wonderful time shopping at Days of Christmas and decorate your tree with all sorts of wonderful Disney ornaments. I have tons on my tree all purchased from Days of Christmas!

Note: This commercial was not paid for by Disney's Days of Christmas, even thought my sister works there!
