Princess in Oz inspired be on her Boo Thread about getting fit and losing those last few unwanted kilos ...

If a wonderful holiday looming in the distance wasn't enough motivation I thought perhaps we needed to start a thread to keep those of us who would like motivated and accountable for a Disney Style Fitness Regime.

I need to be fit, to walk and explore on our upcoming holidays so I hereby pledge to achieve:
that I will commence by starting a walking my way to Disney fitness walk each morning.

Those 10 to 15 kilos that would make the walking easier will also disappear, no more hot chips for lunch.

Nice idea, areweindisneyyet. My training has been next to non-existent, other than my weekly session with my trainer. I started walking with my daughter a few weeks ago each day, but allowed too many thing to distract us from that.

I have only 2 1/2 months to get myself in better shape. I will be walking as many afternoons/evenings a week as possible, dragging my girl kicking and screaming along if I have to (my husband is next to no chance of coming).

You can get back into it Heidi! just make the walking a priority, it will be good for you both and will make our trip all the easier and better. I have been trying to get to the top end of my healthy weight range before our trip, weight is moving down so slowly so I don't think the remaining 6kg will be gone in 2 1/2 months, but will keep up with the running and (trying to) eat better.

By the way, what happened to our tickers??

Just got back from my first walk and are my thighs telling me about it. My DH has decided that I get very cranky after exercise:rotfl2: I shall keep it up, I will be more cranky if i feel like this in DL.:rotfl:

Our next trip is actually our wedding, so I'm at the gym most days trying to get svelt for that! lol! I was a bit under the weather last week though, so I only went twice. This week I must go every day!!

just got back from a solid 2 hr walk
im giving it a crack thats for sure :yay:

carried some heavy shopping all the way back with me (fruit and veg)
left the car at home

plenty of water

roller hockey tonight for a bit more exercise :cool1:

Is it too late to join in???

I have to lose the muffin top before we go - so I have 31 days :scared1:

I have just been out buying raw veggies that I will cut up to eat at work. I gotta give junk food the boot or this is not going to work. :sad2:

The amount of kg's doesn't bother me (I wouldn't even know how much I weigh), it's the clothes fitting nicely and having no roly poly bits that will make me happy. I really don't know how I can get some exercise into my schedule - I do have a cross-trainer at home that I will have to get onto, but it is soooooo boring

Gotta keep drinking water too - although the side effects are quite annoying :lmao:

Good luck girls :flower3:

Aussiegirls, are you able to shift your cross trainer at all so that it's near the TV? Makes a big difference for me - that or music (iPod). When I can be bothered getting on it - currently, my cross trainer lives a sad, lonely life next to my rower :rotfl2: But at least their surrounds have been newly painted this past fortnight!

I took my girl out for a walk this afternoon. 45 mins, and I made her walk very fast to keep up (and elevate her heart rate). We stopped at a park about 3/4 of the way round our loop, and while she played, I did 40 step-ups on the bench, 20 tricep dips and 40 crunches - my trainer would be so proud! Hubby got home 5 mins after us, so we cooked a healthy dinner of lean steak and lots of cauli/broccoli/beans. I really need to start my low-carb eating again. Must plan my meals tonight.

Did my 10km run on Saturday and 3km this morning, but then there were the 4 lemon meringue cupcakes I ate after making them with the kids yesterday, oops! (saw them on Masterchef and had to try them out). I'm ok on the exercise front now but just can't get the eating sorted! Oh well, at DL I'll be walking alot and eating lots of nice but unhealthy stuff so I am getting into training for that, ha ha.

Hope your feeling better and the return to the gym treats you nicely. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding...

No, it is never too late to join

It is always nice to know that we are all in this together --- pardon the pun.

aussiegirls try the meal supplement shakes
you only have 31 days :scared1:
maybe have 2 a day
its really hard to stick to but youll get a guaranteed 5 kg in the first week :cool1:

take painkillers for the headaches
i did :lmao:

Thanks HappyFingers.

I have got this stuff called IsoWhey, and have been having it this week, 2 meals a day. It is supposed to taste like chocolate but it really just tastes like dirty water :lmao:

I am going to give it a good go. When I lose weight the muffin top is usually the first thing to go, so hopefully even if I can only lose a few kg's at least the muffin top will be somewhat diminished.

I am feeling very hungry LOL :rotfl:

Nothing healthy has happened here today. Deep fried schnitzel and ravioli for dinner, with white wine. Why did our 6-monthly wine club bottles have to be delivered this week?

Can I join in? I don't really need to lose weight, my weight is pretty good at the moment but I would really like to get fit before my holiday. I am sure that all of the walking at Disney is going to wipe me out completely.

I would also like to tone up my arms more so that in photos they don't look so floppy :lmao:

I have started to run in the morning... When I say I have started to I mean that I have done it twice in two weeks when I promised myself I would do it everyday :rolleyes1

I really need to get motivated.

A tip for everyone that I use to keep my weight down is to cut out all drinks except for water, milk and tea (no sugar). No soft drinks, energy drinks or juice. Cutting out all that extra sugar really helped me, you don't lose weight fast this way but it does come off in the long run

Well you've all motivated me. I've restarted my morning walk today! And it feels good. It was hard because I had to wake up extra early before the children wake up but it'll be worth it! Gotta start the morning run now...

That's the thing about exercise, Shushh, it DOES make you feel good! That's what I'm trying to show my daughter!

We went for a good walk yesterday. Basically if I give her free rein to take us in any direction she likes, she's happy to walk with me. Whatever works! We plan to walk 45 mins every day that she doesn't have dancing or athletics, but yesterday we only did 38 mins, so we finished up at home with some sit-ups, push-ups, squats etc. I have a problem with my elbow though, which should make my weights session interesting this afternoon. I"ll be sure to discuss with my trainer.

So, it's early days, but I *think* I am back on track. If I'm exercising, then my food intake always improves. My fingers are crossed!

Only 10 weeks 2 days to go now!!!

2 and a half hr walk this morning

still eating healthy
havnt had a burger or pizza in such a long time
feeling good
though at times i still struggle a little with my thoughts :confused3

long walk
im jacks crackered
:yay:

This is a great thread :)
I've been trying to get back into shape (have let myself go this year) with walking and exercise so I can fully enjoy my holiday...but man is is hard getting back in the swing of it lol I only have a month left until my holiday and I need all the motivation I can get!
