Hi all.

I am,like some of you a planner. We don't go until Oct and I'm sure I'm already driving my husband nuts.He doesn't understand. We are booked to be there Oct.13-21.Our time there falls during our daughters 9th Birthday.Any advice or what I can expect at this time of the year(we are coming from Canada) would be wonderful.
Thanks:flower3:

MNSSHP (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) will be going on at that time, that might be a fun thing to do for you.

The weather should be really nice for you during this time, warm but not unbearably so.

Have a great time! What a birthday for your daughter!!

We are going about the same time! Anyone know what crowds are like? We are use to January, so I know it will be somewhat busier, but how bad could it be?

That time of year it shouldn't be too crowded, most have their kids in school. Any sort of event you go to might be busy though (i.e. Halloween party). We are going 12/6-12. I'm hoping to catch a slow period between thanksgiving and x-mas. I don't mind pulling my kids out of school. Last year we went at the end of April, outside of spring break busy time. The parks were a little busy but really enjoyable.

We'll be there around the same time for DH's birthday. We are planning to do the MNSSHP that week. Hoping for light crowds and great weather!

For your daughters birthday definitely stop at guest services in any park for an "It's my Birthday" pin, it may seem silly but I went to WDW for my 16th birthday and wound up wearing my pin for the whole week i was there, i got to sit in VIP sections for shows, and i had so many cast members stop me in the middle of the parks just to sing happy birthday, it was so much fun, something i'll never forget.

You will also be there during the Food & Wine festival at Epcot. There will be information on www.wdwinfo.com showing the different events that took place last year. And there will be updated info later this year.

A friend of mine told me that during her recent trip (she was a 1st timer), that she got a 1st time pin. Not sure where she picked it up though....

We went in April 07 and Oct 07...we loved going in Oct so much more than April. The parks weren't as crowded and it was quite a bit warmer, which we enjoyed more than the 50* in the morning, 80* during the day, 50* at night business of April. The kids enjoyed MNSSHP and we enjoyed F&WF! We're going back this year and will be leaving about the time you arrive!

Oct. is a great month to go. If the timing is right the Halloween party and the Food and Wine festival can't be beat.

We go every Oct. for my DW's birthday and we love it.

We went a week later last year for DH's 40th - you get all the buttons you need when you check in, your DD will get a birthday button and her name will get written on it, and you can all get a first time button then as well. The F&W festival is wonderful, the Halloween decorations are great, and the MNNSHP is a lot of fun if you can fit it in. The weather was beautiful, and it wasn't that busy for rides either. Have a great trip and enjoy your planning!
