Disney at Christmas... perfect, Disney with friends...priceless! A December 2024 Susan and Caroline adventure! updated x 3 and complete 07/01!

A very "Dapper Day" at Animal Kingdom!

I did not know they were doing dapper days at AK now.

This morning was a Disney milestone for Caroline and me as we were attending our first ever official Dapper Day event!

I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Did you see many other dapper folk?

We were meeting up with Billie who has become quite involved with the Dapper Orlando group

Really! That's cool.

I noticed a favourite and elusive friend off to the side.

Wow! You've got a good eye to spot her in there.

I had such fun listening to a few small children who couldn't believe she was real.

You all look terrific!

Her Chip and Dale Christmas outfit was the cutest!

Look at those smiles.

Look at them all! I didn't realize there were that many!

Of course we had to admire her beautiful bow....

Certainly is quite the bow! (bows?)

We headed to Dinosaur next where I look as though I am trying to grab the dinosaur to bring it back with us????

Caroline and I had put our names on the wait list for Nomads. When we arrived there we were seated inside but I just wasn't feeling it and asked if there was anyway we could be moved to an outdoor table. Thankfully one had just become available. I mean how can you beat that view?

I love Nomad. And sitting outside (when the weather is nice) is the best.

Caroline went for the Lamu Libation (Starr African Rum, Cruzan Banana Rum, and Guava Purée with Orange, Lime, and Pineapple Juices topped with Gosling's 151 Rum).

So... was there any rum in it?

Help a girl out, Caroline!

Meanwhile I went for the Snow Leopard Salvation (Vusa Vodka, Belle de Brillet Pear Liqueur, Mint, Lime Juice, and Ginger Beer). This is a new favourite of mine.

I don't care for ginger beer... but otherwise, it sounds good.

Coconut-Curry Sauce

Nope! But the rest all sounded good.

Naturally we had to have churros.

Sadly a couple of these churros were a bit overdone. Was I disappointed? Yes. Did I still eat them? Also yes.

the dress I brought was very comfortable and was a sweater dress for the “winter” theme.

And you both looked wonderful.

I really enjoyed this and now Susan and I are part of the Dapper group on Facebook!

Didn't know there was one... but I'm not really on FB anyways. I do get their emails on a regular basis.

The Lamu Libation is a strong one! Just how I like my drinks

I agree 100% with Susan the outside deck is the place to be when at Nomads.

The chairs inside swallow up a petite gal like myself and I literally was very uncomfortable! Kinda like this

Thank you! I do love my Disney dresses. Now I am trying to decide which ones to bring to Disneyland Paris with me.

We were in WDW during one of the Dapper Days. The clothes they wore were very authentic. It looked like they were having a great time in their outfits. One of their activities was meeting for drinks at the Boardwalk and traveling to Hollywood Studios for the evening.

There were some absolutely incredible outfits! The level of detail and the accessories were amazing!

Caroline's drink sounds delicious.

I know she really enjoyed it.

My drink was definitely the Lamu Libation. It is delicious, I go between this one and the Leaping Lizard! The Lamu Libation is a strong one! Just how I like my drinks

It was really fun and Nomads is the best lounge to relax out on the deck! We were a little disappointed in the hard churros but at least several were delicious

Fun, isn't it? I'm not associated with the group much, other than the emails. I'm just not there enough to justify it. I've only done it the one time, but would like to again. Fun!

Sorry your dinner at Toledo took so long. There's nothing more frustrating than a server who is too pushy with the upsales. Disney prices are rough as it is, let me order what I want in peace!

That Garden Grill breakfast looked really good! I love Garden Grill but have never been for breakfast before. Might have to consider it on our next trip. But a bummer that you caught a cold, Caroline!

And, ugh, Susan, that travel day sounded rough! But kudos to you for still waking up and heading into the MK.

Hi Alicia.....I kind of disappeared from the Dis for a bit but thank you for your comments. We did have a really fun day at AK for Dapper Day. I feel a bit sad about how long it's going to be before I travel to Disney again, sigh.

Time for a party!

Caroline and I were off to the Christmas party this evening and had the best time! We had so many fun character meets, enjoyed the attractions, the parade and the fireworks!

Love the Nutcracker!


The stilt walkers near the party entrance were amazing!


Of course the People Mover was on the agenda!

A night time Jungle Cruise is always fun!

Let's go meet Santa!

We were off to Hollywood Studios this morning with a few firm plans in mind and a few unexpected items. We knew we wanted to try for the new single rider Rise of the Resistance line and that worked out really well. First let's look at the beautiful vintage holiday decor at Studios. I just love it!








We headed to Minnie and Mickey's Runaway Railroad first before going down into Toy Story Land where Caroline cleaned the floor with me again on Toy Story Midway Mania. Of course we had to go see The Muppets. While I know the Monsters Inc area is going to be amazing I am sad to lose this area.

Next up was our meet with Santa....no one is ever too old to meet Santa after all!

We also had the fun of an unexpected meet with Sully!

We ended our Studios time with a visit to a creepy hotel...

A little shopping/browsing/pin trading occupied the last little while before we had to grab a Lyft for our lunch reservation at the Boathouse.

Patio table for the win with the BEST rolls!

Poor Caroline had almost completely lost her voice by this point....

Meanwhile I was happy to drink a beer in the warm sunshine. I knew what weather I was going home to after all!

I went for the turkey sandwich with Caesar salad while Caroline had the burger and fries.
After lunch Caroline took a Lyft back to CSR for some R&R before her flight while I headed off to explore the Christmas Tree Trail and do a little resort hopping. That's next!

Oh Christmas tree!

Many, many Christmas trees.....I had a hard time picking a favourite this year.
















If I really had to pick a favourite, I would say it was the Disney Parks tree.

I decided to grab a bus to Wilderness Lodge to visit my beloved home resort.


I took advantage of there being a Photopass Photographer at the tree.


The tree at Boulder Ridge almost looks like it has arms with the boughs and lights on the railing behind it.

I then grabbed the boat over to Contemporary to see their gingerbread display. After counting all the Hidden Mickeys and having a snack, I walked back to MK and grabbed the bus to CSR. Sadly all good things must come to an end and it was time for me to head to MCO for my flight home.

I'm so glad I had three magical trips in 2024 as there won't be one for the next few years. However there's a beautiful world to explore and Disney Parks in them. First up is Disneyland Paris in just 46 days! I'll be posting a PTR/TR combo shortly so please come on over and join in the fun of planning new adventures.
