Not been to Disney for years, but planning to visit during our next Orlando holiday in Nov.

Which fireworks and other shows should we be seeing? If all of them, which should be our priority?

Also EPCOT has "holidays around the world" on in Nov - what is it exactly?

thanks

this is such a difficult question to answer - everybody has their own personal preferences......one man's junk is another man's treasure...

regarding fireworks, the order of my preference is:
1. Wishes at the Magic Kingdom
2. Illuminations at Epcot
3. Fantasmic at MGM
but if you've never seen any of them, i would say that you should try to see all 3.

regarding shows - in our opinion, the shows at the Animal Kingdom are the best of the 4 parks, especially Festival of the Lion King, which is a 'must see'.

as for parades, our favorite is the nighttime parade at the Magic Kingdom (i can't remember what it's called)....

but i'm sure others will disagree with my rankings, which is fine...everyone has their own preferences....you might not like what i like etc.

would tend to agree with this, i absolutely adore wishes.

loved wishes
The special holiday ending to Epcots illuminations is fantastic. I think there is a video of it on this site (the whole thing)
click on photos at the top of this page & there should be some videos, wishes is also there, they dont do it full justice but you can appreciate the timing etc. :)

If you are going later in Nov. you might want to check out Mickey's Very Merry Chirstmas Party. They do a special christmas version of Fantasy in the Sky with fireworks going off all around you.

I agree tht we all have our own preferences.....here's mine

My favourites are :

1) Fantasmic :rotfl:
2) Specromagic :wizard:
3) Wishes :thumbsup2
4) Illuminations :hippie:

Over the holiday period my preferences are:

Epcot - as the ending is just fantastic
Magic Kingdom - Holiday Wishes - christmas party evenings are great as the christmas parade is a must see with the wooden soldiers being my favourite

Also don't forget to see the Osborne Family Lights as the more I saw them the more I liked them.

We were at Disney over Christmas this last year and it looks wonderful, you'll have a brilliant time.

Holidays Around the World: This is a representation of how and why the "Santa's" of other cultures came about and how the other countries celebrate the Holiday Season. There are holiday stories told by the "Santa's" and all are wearing clothing traditional to thier respective cultures. It's a great way for kid's and adults to learn about other cultures from a different perspective.

Take for example in Africa there is a tradtion known as the "Christmas Box", this is were you walk up to someone on Christmas day and say Christmas Box. The person is then obligated by tradition to give you a gift. If they then inturn say Christmas Box back to you, well you are to recipricate with a gift also.
