Disney Feel??

Having stayed at both POR & POFQ, I felt immersed in the disney magic at both resorts the entire time of our stay. Don't judge a book by its cover.. POR is amazing! The grounds are beautiful and it has this rustic charm that really feels like Disney. I loved it there, but everyone is different and prefer different things. I don't think you will be disappointed at all. I really loved the spinning mill right outside of the food court building.. it really makes you feel like you are in New Orleans.

Before I was married, I stayed at Grand Floridian...after I was married I stayed at Pop, then POFQ, then ASMo, and in 4 days we are back at ASMo. I had that Disney feeling at each of these places, most surprisingly the LEAST at GF! That was right when it opened and it was just fancy-fancy and seemed to me like a hotel somewhere not at Disney, if that makes sense. I've visited Poly & Boardwalk and they both feel Disney, too, even though the theming is not very Mickey-ish there. Happy, friendly, smiling people make me feel the Disney feeling, and seeing happy kids, wide-eyed old people and exhausted parents. I love it all! I love seeing the people who have been to the World a jillion times and still love it, the people who are there for the first time and are taking it all in, the brides and grooms, the BBB girls, I love it all! We chose ASMo's again because my teen kids really liked it...we go commando at the parks, so flopping down and going to bed at night is all we need. I can say POFQ is my favorite of the places we stayed: the grounds, the music, the riverwalk, the boats to DTD, it is awesome. But I defer to my kids. We all wanted to stay at AOA, but I had a pin for the all-stars and it was too good to pass up. We will try AOA next trip.

Depends what you mean by Disney "feel". Oversized garish icons aren't the disney feel to me, total immersion in a highly themed environment. Is the Disney feel ;)

I don't know OP....to me,the 'disney feel' is when you feel you are not IRL ,themed music, grounds, etc etc. POFQ and POR feel themed for sure....and you know it's disney.....since no one else seems to be able to do this magic:rotfl:
but it's not giant characters in your face.....I mean, where else in the world do you have themed background music wherever you go? It's like living in a movie for a while!:lmao: (can't wait to stay POFQ,we LOVE the New Orleans section in DL)

That's what I think, too. All the CMs are costumed, whether in 1920's plus fours and shirts like at GF, or Caribbean style shirts and white pants like at OKW. I really don't need giant icons. I just want theming that fits in with the name of the resort. Subtle is better. Themed music in the background. Themed pools that promote the theme quietly. The architecture of the buildings to promote the theme, like the GF theming or OKW Key West colors and gingerbread.

The Aztec temple pool at Coronado Springs. The Old Mill at POR, the Mardi Gras theming at POFQ with the black wrought iron railings.

They have have it.
