Disney Fantasy Menus on Nights 5, 6, and 7 (Eastern Caribbean Itinerary A)

I know that on the Disney Fantasy, on Nights 5, 6, and 7, on the Eastern Caribbean Itinerary A cruise, the menus that are offered are called Prince and Princess Menu, Captain's Gala, and Till We Meet Again. I also know that, unless things have changed recently, that in whichever of those nights you are assigned to Animator's Palate, you do not get the full menu, and that there is only 1 appetizer (a potato soup that I have absolutely no interest in, since I hate potatoes), and only 1 dessert (one of the desserts from the normal menu from that night).

My questions are:

1. Is this still the case that in Animator's Palate on Nights 5, 6, and 7, that you do not get the full appetizer and dessert menu? Is the full menu offered for the entres?

2. Where can I find the current menus for Nights 5, 6, and 7? I would want to be sure that I am not missing any appetizers and desserts that I would have really enjoyed.

3. Where can I find the single dessert item for each night at Animator's Palate? I want to be sure that if I am only given 1 dessert "option" and being cheated out of an appetizer (since I hate potatoes) that I will at least get a dessert that I would enjoy.

4. I know that Night 6, the Captain's Gala, is the lobster night. I know that on Carnival, the formal night lobster is smaller than any other meal that they offer. Is that also the case on Disney, that the lobster on Night 6 is smaller than other meals? If so, that would mean I would be more dependent on an appetizer and dessert if the meal is smaller. If I am going to be cheated out of an appetizer, I want it to be on a night that the meal is substantial enough.

On another note, my wife (who doesn't seem to care about the meals, and only seems to care about matching her dresses to the dining rooms, which makes no sense to me, since I am a guy) seems to want ERAERAE so that we can be in Royal Court for the first formal night. But that also means that we would be in Animator's Palate for the 2nd formal night, which to me, defeats the purpose, since that is supposed to be the most casual dining room. (yes, I know the 2nd night is technically a semi-formal night, but my understanding is that they are de facto the same). I was thinking a possible compromise would be AERAERA, since it would avoid Animator's Palate on both formal nights. But I would be somewhat concerned that this would be the kiddie rotation (the Passporters Guide says rotations are still assigned by age, regardless of what Disney says), and it would put us in Royal Court for the 2nd formal night rather than the first.

One final thing: this cruise is the week of Sept. 12, 2015. My understanding is that Disney will have started their Halloween theme by then. But my understanding is that the Halloween night will be Night 5 (Prince and Princess menu night), and (unlike on the Dream) it does not affect the rotations or the menus. Is this all correct?

Thank you for your help.

Rotations haven't been assigned by age for over a decade on DCL. The Passporter always has inaccuracies.

I'm sailing the same cruise as you. Did you join our cruise group? We have one person who has taken 60+ disney cruises.

Also, you do know you can order more then one of anything on the menu right? So if you want two lobsters you can have 2.

We had Halloween on the High Seas for our last 2 Fantasy cruises. The menus were consistent with what's been posted for the "regular" rotations, regardless of what night "Halloween" was on.

Thank you for your help.

Thanks. Are the menus in that link up to date, even though they are several years old?

Pretty much.

I have the (abbreviated) menu from our AP dinner on the Fantasy last year. Let me see if I can find it.

Found it - it was on the Prince & Princess night and there was only one appetizer (did have, but didn't eat the duck) and one soup (didn't have, but I'm not a soup eater). Desserts - there were 2 options (well, 3, if you count the no-sugar-added one).

Note, -maybe Europe only but the Disney Magic has enhanced menus now, with changes and additions. They hadnt changed before. But surprised us with the changes.

This maybe a Magic thing but, if going on the Magic soon, I have scanned copies of updated menus on my trip report. Blog or here.

Mine are up to date as of today.

An example.

Wow I had no idea AP didn't offer the same menu on those nights! I thought all the MDRs offered the same menu on the themed nights. Anyone know why?

On your second visit to AP (on the Fantasy) the "powers that be" decided that the animation show prep work (that needs to be done at the beginning of the meal) would delay service too much if everyone still had to select appetizers and soups, so they "streamlined" the menu for those nights by only offering one of each (so no one needs to take the time to make decisions as to what to have). In the other 2 MDRs the menu remains the same (with choices for those 2 courses).

And a former cast member posted in another thread that Disney's official reason is bull. The real reason is likely as a cost saving measure by giving us a substandard menu one night. It especially bugs me that they give no choice for dessert (I was told by a tablemate on the Dream that the Sweet Temptations are not good, so there is only 1 real choice per night), since I can't imagine dessert affecting the show.

Looking at the menus, I would rather have the full menu. We are doing our first 7 Eastern on the Fantasy and had no idea! So we were looking over the menus last night to try and decide which one would be best to have a smaller menu on. Everything looks so good! My weakness is the deserts..... Does Cabana's offer the same menu on those special nights? Could we skip AP and go there for dinner?

For dinner Cabanas is a sit-down table service venue. The menu is selected items from the other MDR menus available that night. There is also a salad bar and carving station.

For example, here is the menu from Cabanas the same night we had the "limited" menu in AP

Thank you. I assume that appetizer platter is the same one offered all 3 nights, and that it is more current than the one in the links?

It's so frustrating that we are being cheated that night.

In AP on animation night, you can order a regular salad instead of the appetizer or soup choice

For dessert you can still get a Mickey bar

Doesn't bother me at all that one night has a streamlined menu. I am getting plenty of food the other nights and days onboard. I can handle (and have many times) one night with a smaller menu. Geesh.

If Disney wanted to save money why would they pick one night in the dining room? I can't imagine they could save that much to make a huge difference on that one menu. Maybe I am naive but I tend to believe the company line that it is streamlined due to time constraints. I have done the Animation show and it does take some time drawing on the placemat.

Cheated, really? I think that's silly. Never have felt cheated or that I was being served a substandard menu that night.

I have been told that if you request that, your sever will most likely get it for you, but the server will get in trouble for breaking the rules. The server is basically forced to choose between getting a bad evaluation or getting in trouble with his/her boss. I would not want a hard-working server in trouble, especially since I know they will get a punishment that doesn't fit the crime.

I don't know that getting a basic green salad would be "breaking the rules". You can get the salad any night, regardless if it's actually on the menu or not.

The salad is on the children's menu. I know adults can order off the children's menu without "breaking the rules"
