**Disney Fantasy June 30th, 2012- EASTERN**

Welcome Alan BLT, going South (back to back sounds really exciting), dumbo33, DisneyMom70, TNShellBelle, Princess VIJA, & anyone else I've missed.

Princess VIJA--ask away about Eastern. We love them! Sorry to hear about your health scare. Check out the forum on the DIS:

I am hoping that we (DH and DS (13 then)) will be on this cruise. Anyway, I see a few of you have already done the Eastern Caribbean and I am trying to decide if we should get an Oceanview or a balcony room. We went to Alaska before and loved the balcony because there was so much to see. When we did our four day Disney trip we only stepped on the balcony when we pulled into port. Any thoughts. That would save us a lot of money but if it is worth it then we would defintely like to have a balcony.

DVC Mary if we go our DSs should be in the club together.

Welcome lbcrosby! More boys to hang out w/!!! Yeah! Check out kreedham who has boys 11 & 13 too. We've done 2 Easterns before & had oceanviews b/c we just don't spend much time in the room. We've stayed on deck 5, so if I need a quick fix of fresh air I can duck down to deck 4 for air, a walk, or a place to curl up w/ a good book--when everyone else is sleeping & I'm still wide awake. :goodvibes I'd rather spend the money on excursions or shopping. We booked a verandah for Alaska next summer. :yay:  :yay:  :yay:[/

This will be our 10th. Doing the 1st cruise on the Dream this Jan. We'll have our 2 boys, who will be 11 and 13 by cruise time!

Welcome kreedham! More boys to hang out w/!!! Yeah! Check out lbcrosby who has boys 11 & 13 too. Wait are your guys from the same family???

Welcome to all the new faces! I know this is going to be so much fun. I am spending a lot of time now on this forum.:surfweb: It's been a few years since our last cruise so I need to refresh myself on lots.

Sccrmnky2005, since you started the thread do you mind making a list of all of the cruisers? It would be great to see the user name, and how many people are sailing with and the kids and ages if given. If you don't want to, I can do it too, I have the second post so it would be near the top.

I just saw a special on the Oasis of the Seas. It was so cool to watch the turnaround day events. I did feel so bad for the family that couldn't go because of their documentation not being right. I can't even imagine! And there was a family that missed the ship leaving St. Maarten and had to fly back, meet the ship and try to get their luggage. They had over $40,000 of jewelry left in the stateroom!:scared1: Here's to hoping that nobody is left behind on our cruise!

Thank you Mary! I am feeling better. ANd I will certainly be asking you lots of questions! The first one I have is in St. Maarten on the beaches, are there alot of topless girls? I imagine my teenage son would love it;), but I think I would not like it too much!

I've been on WISH before, thanks for the info though. And that is awesome about your Alaska cruise. I wish we could be there. But it wasn't in the cards for us. Can't wait to hear about it.

Sccrmnky2005 - I sent a request to add the Facebook group.

So, we are in 9584 and 9586 on Deck 9 - mid ship location. They are veranda rooms which I am both happy and sad about. With smaller kids, it will be nice to have somewhere to go when they are napping. However, I have that nagging worry about my son climbing up to see and falling overboard. (That will continue to wake me in the middle of the night  until this cruise is over. I guess it adds to the anticipation. :rotfl2:)

BTW - a little bit about myself. I suffer from parenthasisitis (using parenthases too much) and I tend to use lots of smileys. Just some fair warning. :rotfl: I am not quite 40 (for the moment - that all changes in December), and my DH is a month older. His birthday is actually on Thanksgiving this year. My DD(4) is a January baby and my DS(1) was born in December as well. Our birthday celebrations are done in less than 6 weeks which makes for a hectic holiday season. My MIL and FIL will be joining us for the cruise in an ajoining cabin. We have been planning this for 2 years, postponed it once, but I am so excited to finally be going (in another year and a half, of course).

Well I decided to go ahead and book the balcony. When we checked the various threads it seemed to go back and forth regarding whether to get a balcony or not. I decided it came down to preference. My Aunt is a travel agent so she is booking the trip for us. We will be staying on Deck 6. I get motion sickness really easy so I always like the middle/middle of the ship. I don't know the exact cabin yet but I think we will be three floors below you DisneyMom70. Be cautious but don't worry about him climbing. If the balconys are the same as the other ships he would have to be a frog to climb it as they are glass. Keep the chairs away from the edge and you should be fine. If I recall the chairs are heavy enough that when they are moved they make a lot of noise so it is obvious if they are being moved by a small person. Our son was seven the last time we went and the railing came up to his shoulders.

Hi Kreedham glad there will be some more 13 year old boys on board. (No DVC Mary we are not in the same family.) I hope at that age the boys still enjoy it and not that they are to grown up for the magic of Disney. I don't think I will ever outgrow Disney.

So DVC Mary are you doing a Disney Alaskan cruise? We did a Princess one in 2005 and loved Alaska. If you go with the mindset that it is going to rain while you are there then you will be fine. That way if it does or doesn't you will still enjoy the trip. It rained a lot when we were there but the sun came out at the right times. We were celebrating our 10th Anniversary on July 1st when we landed in Victoria. In Canada that is a national holiday so it was really cool that everyone was having a big party for our anniversary.

I love planning trips. :cool1:

We started on the Disney cruises when the boys were 5 and 7 (I think) and they have a great time. My wife tries to change it up so it's a little different as our next 3 are Inaugural Dream, Dream again in the summer then Fantasy in 2012. We were doing Alaska in 2011 but DW decided since we're on MV Dream, she opted to go again. We're supposed to do Med 3 years ago but bought a house instead. Done cruise out of LA twice and Baltic this past June. I guess Med and Alaska remain in our future. Worried about the older 1 after 13 though. The Baltic cruise was the 1st he hooked up with a new pal. He appears to now prefer that to hanging with mom and dad!

Yes got it started, thanks!!!

I was watching the same special... even though I don't ever plan on going on that ship it was fun to see!

I have started a list of all cruisers, so information is missing so please post the missing information so I can update it:goodvibes

We booked while we were onboard the Wonder this past weekend.

It will be myself - I'll be 37 at the time of the cruise, DH (37), DS1(9.5), DS2 (7), DD (7), as well as my parents, who will be in their early/mid 60s.

We have staterooms, but may be changing, so we'll leave that blank for now.

It will be my third Disney Cruise, and the 2nd for everyone else in my party, though my parents are experienced cruisers on other lines.

Nice job! Can you please add that this is our 3rd cruise and stateroom 7600. Thanks!

I too doubt that we would ever go on that cruise, but I LOVED watching all the details. On that note Samantha Brown was on hand for the Dream float out. Wouldn't that be great if they did another travel channel special on the new ships? That would be so exciting.

WELCOME IrenicMom:cheer2: Hope you guys had a great cruiseon the wonder! How were the seas? Hopefully not too bad, but with Tomas churning away, I wonder how they were for you?

We had a bit of rolling, especially the last night (when I, ahem, rolled out of bed :upsidedow ) but nothing awful. I do have to share, though, that after 5 minutes on board, DS1 said, "So, Mom, when we're on our NEXT Disney cruise, can we............" LOL! We had an excellent time. The kids are already planning their next adventures; the adults are already dreaming of Konk Coolers :woohoo:

Ok - our staterooms are official - 7000, 7002, and 7004.

We may be adding a few more groups to our party - we have several invitations out right now. We'll see.

OH MY GOODNESS! You actually rolled out of bed??? I think that would have been so crazy! Too funny about your DS, he knows quality. My DS has said many times that he would rather cruise than go back to the parks. He loved it!

We opted to change our dates from this sailing to June 16th (saved $$)

I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Joanne -
Jealous! We wanted to go on that sailing, but we were worried that might be the week of DD's mandatory team camp.

Have a great trip!

Oh no. I just checked my reservation and for some reason it is not showing up any more. I am trying to reach my travel agent to see if she made the deposit. I hope it is just a glitch but we will see.

Yeah. It is back again. Same room and everything. Must have been a glitch.

Hope everyone had a good THANKSGIVING!!! Now it's time to get ready for the Holidays, then after the new year we can FINALLY say we are cruising next year!!:lmao:
