New poster & cruiser here. Thanks to all of you who post here-great info which has helped with many land-based Disney trips!

My wife and I are planning a 7 night eastern Caribbean cruise on Disney Fantasy next Spring with our 2 children who will be 5 and newly 3 on the trip. I've decided on the family cabin with verandah as we will have a pack n play for the younger one & the extra space will be great for that.

I have midship options from deck 6 to 10 and am tossing around the pros & cons of locations.

While I envision the kids spending some time at the kids club (or nursery if the 3 year old isn't fully potty trained), I don't envision us leaving them there for many hours-I anticipate the 4 of us will stick together for all meals, activities, etc.

Given that, I'm wondering if a higher deck would be most convenient as it'll be easy to get up to pools, food, drinks, etc? Maybe deck 9 as I have read deck 10 has noise above? Or would deck 6 be best with proximity to kids clubs and dining rooms below? Or split the difference & stay on 7 or 8? Price difference is negligible so I'm really just trying to figure out the most convenient option.

Any advice from experienced cruisers appreciated! Thank you!

Ok so on our last cruise we stayed indeck 6. We heard noise from the kids clubs. On our next cruise in a few days, we are deck 8. We believe that is the best deck so there's no noise and it's a great location. 3 flights of stairs and your at the pool deck. So if I were you I'd do 7,8,9. 6 and 10 will have noise. Good Luck!

We just went through the same decision making process as you, also for a Fantasy cruise next spring. We have three children, similar ages to yours, and started out in a family verandah room on Deck 8, then switched to 2 insides on Deck 9 to gain more living space. We then thought against the inside rooms and went for 2 family oceanviews on Deck 7. Just this week, we switched to 2 regular oceanviews on Deck 2 and are REALLY happy with our final landing spot. Our location will be very close to the MDRs, atrium, kids clubs, and theater. Though farther away from the pool deck and Cabanas, we're hoping to take advantage of relatively empty elevators for the ride up to those areas. I'm not trying to necessarily convince you to swap to an oceanview, just giving you our perspective and the thought process we went through in considering the implications of each option. If staying on Decks 6-10, most people on these boards recommend trying to put themselves on a deck that is between two other decks of staterooms vs. being directly over or under common areas that might generate a lot of noise. Forward, mid, and aft room locations would also be a significant consideration for me. Happy cruising!

We've only stayed on deck 8 and we liked how it was kind of in the middle of everything.

My family and I went on the Disney Fantasy last April and stayed on Deck 7 and loved it!! We had 6,4,1yo and found it to be quiet and what in the middle in regards to kids clubs (which they are great but we ending up spending most time together as family at pool, aqualab, mini golf, etc...) and the pool area... enjoy your trip!!! you will love it!!!

Unless we can swing concierge, we always book a 4E with the extended balcony. They are on Deck 5 (same as kids clubs) and have a HUGE balcony with 4 chairs and a small table. If your kids are sleeping you have a wonderful place to sit and relax, talk or have a drink. All of you can sit out there and enjoy time together. Only some of the 4Es hold 4 people so they can be hard to get.

We stayed on Deck 10 on the Fantasy with 2 kids, ages 6 and almost 3, and we loved it! No noise and a quick flight of stairs to Cabana's for breakfast or to the several lunch options. Also, the self-serve ice-cream was there too! We liked the overhang on our verandah - it provided nice shade.

There are pros and cons for all. Deck 2 close to MDRs and easy on and off on port days but may or may not get elevators. Deck 10 close to pools, deck 6 close to kids clubs but can be noisy. Deck 7-9 close to kids clubs and pools and quieter. For myself with littles, I like 7-9 ocean view, I worry to much about the balcony so it helps me relax.

Thanks all for the replies & thoughts-very much appreciated! Just reading them all now after a weekend at Disney on land . As I suspected there are pros & cons to each option!

I think I'm leaning towards decks 6 or 9/10, as it seems it would be nice to be a really easy stair trip to either the kids club or pool deck. Since I anticipate we will be more likely to go up top as a family than to the kids clubs im thinking higher may be more convenient?

I've read the midship elevators get really crowded. Is the same true for the forward elevators? They seem like a fairly convenient second option as I look at the deck plans.
