Getting ready to book our 2015 cruise and wanted feedback on staterooms! We are cruising with 5 this time, so we are planning to book a family stateroom with veranda...we are tentatively assigned room 6614...the reviews say that these are above the lifeboats. Does this obstruct the view at all? Last time we cruised we were on deck 8 in a veranda room (not the family size as we left the youngest with Grandma) and I don't remember even noticing lifeboats when we were on our veranda and I really thought deck 6 and 7 were pretty similar. We could book deck 7 instead and the price difference is minimal, but is it necessary? I saw reviews where people on deck 7 said their view was obstructed by lifeboats as well. Also, we are cruising in September when it is a slower season, what are the chances of an upgrade? This is our second cruise and we couldn't be more excited!

I didn't not think it was a big deal at all. I was in 6080 and yes, if you look down you can see them. But if you are on your veranda and are looking out you don't even know they are there.

We had 6578 I think is the number but we were midship and if you looked down you could see them but it wasn't that big of a deal. Besides who really stays in their room that much on a cruise anyway? I was never in the room except for a few hours to sleep and about half an hour to get ready! :)
