Disney Fantasy ~ December 22, 2012 ~ 7 Night Western Caribbean

Has anyone checked our cruise price recently? HOLY COW! We booked while onboard this past March and the cruise price has gone up....$3,000!!:scared1: I am thinking though it is because this is the next to the last cruise you can book right now and I'm betting a lot of people have booked it as a 'dummy cruise'. I read somewhere on this forum that a person has a Christmas cruise booked for this year and they've already been offered Kids Sail Free this far out... Would be SO cool if that is the case next year! I did find out today though that apparently, because my son will be over the age of 10 by this sailing that he gets charged as an adult??? (Which is weird because when you're filling out the 'search for a cruise' form on the DCL website, they ask #of adults and #of children, then have in parentheses (0-17). Why don't they just ask 0-10 if that's the case? Anyhoo...hubby is military so right now we don't even know where we'll be living by that time!

Still hoping we get to keep this one and don't have to move it. So many things can change between now and then...:)

**Edited to add: I just read some other info regarding kids' pricing, etc....I mistakenly entered one adult only and two kids...Rooms are charged for two adults regardless and then 3rd, 4th passenger charged accordingly thereafter...so NEVER MIND..LOL!

Hi everyone! We just booked this cruise and already are looking forward to Christmas in the Western Carribean! It will be 4 of us ... DH, me, and kids (DS 14 and DD 10, ages at cruise time ). This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome to everyone who has joined this thread in the past couple of months! It seems to be slow moving for a Christmas cruise.

We are looking forward to our first Christmas away from home. We asked our boys if they would rather cruise for Christmas or change our plans and visit WDW and all of them agreed to keep the cruise!!

Before I read your "edited to add" section, I checked out the prices. Our cruise price for this cruise has gone up by approximately $2,900 since we first booked this back in February.

However, if you want to see obscene prices, look at the June 2012 Fantasy cruises. We are also booked on a 7-night June cruise and are thankful we booked early. The price of our cruise has more than doubled!!! (136% more to be exact) Equivalent rooms in June compared to this Christmas cruise are more. The exact same rooms we have on this Christmas cruise are $2,200 more in June. I always thought Christmas was higher priced, but not now. Perhaps as it gets closer, we'll see prices on this cruise sky rocket even further.

Regardless, by booking early we saved a lot on our two 2012 cruises (nearly $8,100 for our June cruise and $2,900 for this cruise). That's enough to pay for two more cruises for our family of 5 unless Disney keeps raising Day 1 prices!

Hello all, we are in too. It will be me, my wife, son (18) daughter (20) my sister her husb. son (8) daughter (10). This will be cruise no. 5 for us, and we enjoy doing the FE's.

John

My family will be on this cruise. I have twin boys who will be 15 at cruise time. We will be with extended family and girl cousins, 17, 15, 13 at time of cruising.
This is our second Disney cruise. We sailed Magic in December 2007 the week before Christmas to the Western Carribbean. Looking forward to going back!:santa:

We will be on this cruise as well and I can't wait. It will be our very first cruise. Just my daughter (10 at time of cruise) and me coming from California! It's going to be a very long year!

We just got off the Christmas Cruise on the Dream and absolutely loved it. We decided to book the 2012 Christmas Cruise on the Fantasy on our cruise. We can't wait...

Surprised to see this thread still rather short but please add one more family to this sailing. I just transferred an April trip on the Fantasy to this Christmas event instead. We are a family of 3. DS will be 14.

Great to hear we have someone on board that has a recent experience on the Dream. bmer1rick, so do you have children or was it an adults event? What deck were you on? We are on deck 7 a category 4C I think it is. I know I won't be in my room much but I sure hope the lifeboats don't block too much of the view!

Was the entertainment for Christmas any different than during the normal cruise or was the decorations and special dinner pretty much it? I don't care really... I'm just glad I'll be on the boat. YEAH

Very very excited...

Hi all just working on booking my Fantasy cruise.... so what are the plusses an minuses between the DEC 22 and Dec 29 cruise... cant decide between Chirstmas on the Fantasy or New Years.....

Hi Everyone! I am going to be on this cruise too. I am a single mom with two sons who will be 8 and 9 years old for their first ever cruise. This will be my first cruise where I am not working. I was in the Navy for 12 years, so I have plenty of sea time under my belt, but none when I can just relax and enjoy. We have booked a family stateroom (8C) on deck 7. I am literally counting the days.

It has always been my dream to get underway and just relax. I chose DCL so that I could bring my boys and be sure they will have fun too. I hope to see lots of activity on here in the next 337 days.

Hi! I will also be on this cruise with my mom. It's going to be our very first cruise. I'm so excited, I can't believe it's only in 11 months!

So glad to see a few additions as I was getting a tad sad with the low traffic. I thought we'd see a little more with this being the first Christmas cruise for the Fantasy. But like you said, I'm sure we'll get more closer to the date.

Jessika I'm on yor same deck. A Cat 4C if I recall

Wow, I like the sound of that. "The first Christmas on the Fantasy". Mankind is funny, we can find a first for anything. All I know is that it made me happy.:yay:

I like it too! EGHopeful!! I was getting so very sad becuase a lot of these threads seem to be super busy but ours is slow. I see you are a single mom travelling with your child too. She is even close in age to my boys. My boys will be 8-9 for the trip. Good to know I won't be the only one.

My son will be 8 when we sail and I will be traveling solo with him. Looks like he will have plenty of boys his age to make friends with and I will have a few moms to chat with!

Allright, McPackers! We are definitely going to run into each other, and EGHopeful. I hope we get to know each other over the next 11 months and then we'll be like old friends come sail time!

We booked this cruise onboard our Alaska cruise last July as a dummy date. I think we are just going to keep this as the 2013 itineraries did not work well with our calendar. Cruising will be me, Patty, my husband, Mike and our two girls, ages 11 and 8. This will be our 6th Disney cruise.
