Welcome HFCS1969. We love DCL and can't wait to experience that magic for Christmas.

Sorry to say we have jumped ship. The school calendar just came out today, and we a week off in November. Those dates end up working better for us.

I JUST BOUGHT MY FAMILIES TICKETS!!!! 21-31 December approx $700.00/person it includes taxes thats fantastic for us around that time!!! No turning back now!!! The only thing that might change is if my boyfriend will come we will have a 3rd cabin!

Oh I can't wait... does anyone know how to speed up time?

PS Disneyland was amazing!!! GarakDS9 I ate in 2 of the New Orleans square restaurants and they were both fantastic!

It is funny how purchasing a non-refundable flight can firm up a cruise reservation:laughing: Glad you enjoyed DL and the food!

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a peaceful warm spring Sunday.

On a cruise meet we were on before, we did a getting to know you. Everyone just talked a bit about anything we can connect on. I thought about doing this on Facebook but I thought maybe not everyone might be on there. I will start, and I will try not to say anything too boring...We are a very laid back, almost dull family!

My name is Kathleen and and my husband and I are turning 50 this year!! My kids are 16 and 13, and do not want me to talk about them at all! Too bad - they are in sports pretty much year round, but my DD also loves drama and singing.

I was born in Wash DC. My DH in Champaign Illinois. We both moved to LA as children and grew up there. We were engineers in the aerospace industry. We both became lawyers after tht died out.

I became a SAHM after my kids were born. We left LA after the quakes and riots. We live in MN.

We love cruising. I think out best cruise is EVERY cruise and the Panama Ccanal in 2008. We own DVC at SSR. SSR is fine, but not our favorite resort.

I would like to get to Europe more, but it is SO EXPENSIVE. I did use my DVC points and went to Paris for a few weeks this year - my 1st time. We love Playa Del Carmen, and of course the World!!

I like reading a lot. We watch a lot of sports and politics. My DH enjoys music a lot - he is usually listening alone bcs I am not very musical. My son and DH are into A/V. My DS plays way too many horrible video games...We are very casual and laid back and you may not EVER see me dressed up.

My DH drinks and I don't - so I am always looking for anyone to sit with and order something that looks sophisticated! My DH thinks he is a pirate and drinks too much rum on the cruise!! I like roaming the ship and finding stuff to do - my DH loves sitting in the Quiet Cove and drinking beer and sleeping on sea days.

Sorry if this is long. I am trying to connect everyone here and on FB, but it is hard. Hopefully, I will not be the only person posting personal stuff on the Dis!

Please add my family to the cruise/meet/fish extender list. We're in a 5B (me, 15 yo son and hubby). Late seating for dinner (on the wait list for early). This will be our 7th(?) Disney cruise and we keep returning to Disney after Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean cruises. In July we'll be leaving out the the NY port via Disney into Canada. Just can't get enough cruising. Gotta check out Oriental Trading Company for FE stuff. Son says he's too old for it but I just love it all. Been living outside D.C. (in Southern Maryland) all our lives. How do I get on the facebook page?

Hi.
Just got off the Magic seven night Western. While onboard, we booked this trip for Xmas. Got 2 connecting veranda cabins for our family of five plus a potential friend of one of our oldest kids (all from EP MN).

We booked connecting cat 5Cs I think. Will check prices to see if it is worthwile to upgrade to the deluxe family cat 4s. If anyone has perspective, let us know.

Hi Strissel -- we live in southern MD too (Waldorf). It's fun to see someone so close to us. Our son turns 14 next week, so maybe our kids will see each other in the teen club. And we're also doing a cruise out of NY this summer, but one of the 8-day Bahamas ones at the beginning of July. I'm glad I have that one to look forward to while waiting for the Fantasy cruise!

Happy Tax Day... :headache:

Hope everyone in the Midwest survived the storms over the weekend ok...

We had roughly 6 inches of rain in the STL area...

250 days til :santa:pirate:

I love the idea! I will go next.

My family is currently living in Northern California. We have also lived in Oregon, Washington & Connecticut.

After many years of being a stay at home mom, I recently started my 'dream job' as a Travel Agent. I love to help people plan their dream vacations!:)

My DH is a VP of sales for a composite company. In his free time he likes to golf, snorkel & scuba.

My DH & I have 4 children--Our oldest DD (18) will graduate from High School this year! When she grows up she wants to be a teacher. :) Our DS (16) is a huge sports nut. He like to follow the A's. He also plays baseball for his high school. DS (14) is into video games and is sure he is going to become a millionaire by creating & posting videos on you tube. lol DD (12) is an animal lover. She recently started horseback riding lessons. She also plays basketball.

We are new DVC members (2010) & our "home" is BLT.

Our family has cruised with DCL many times and have enjoyed every cruise. I think my favorite cruise, was the first Transatlantic Crossing. The crossing was so nice and relaxing & Gibraltar was amazing with the Barbary Apes.

We are looking forward to cruising on the Fantasy for the holidays.

Hi Everyone! I love this idea too. I'll go next.

I'm a divorced mom of two boys who are 8 and 9 years old, they both just had birthdays! :cool1: I have never in my entire life (36 years) been on a vacation! I have travelled extensively during my 12 years in the Navy but I have never travelled just for the sake of travelling, even as a kid.

I work in a nursing home as a Health Information Manager. (Medical Records). I just got my Bachelor's degree last December and will be finishing my MBA just days before we set sail for Christmas. I have always dreamed of getting underway and NOT having to work. I decided to bite the bullet and just do it as a graduation gift of sorts to myself. I chose Disney because they seem to have the most well reviewed kid - friendly experience and frankly, I have faith in the brand.

I just told my boys this last weekend that we are cruising for sure. They are going to spend the next 248 days or so earning money to spend in the ARRRCade, and of course to shower me with gifts. Maybe they will purchase a nice piece of artwork for their mother? One can hope, right? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

You are going to love cruising with Disney! It is really wonderful to have everything done for you for the whole cruise...no laundry, no cleaning, no cooking, or washing dishes. It really is heaven :cloud9:for a mom!

I posted this on the Facebook group page but thought to also include it here.

This will be our family's first cruise of any kind so we are really looking fwd to it. It'll be my wife and 2 daughters who will be 8 & 6 when we cruise. We'll be on deck 7 cat 4C. We live in Mountain View CA near SF so have not had a chance to do a Caribbean trip - hoping some amount of rum will be on the ship : )

We're interested in joining the FE and ornament exchange. Seems like there will be a lot of boys on the cruise, hopefully my daughters will also have lots of other girls their age to play with.

Looking fwd to the cruise

John & Ariana

I am really bad about posting on here. We are booked in a virtual porthole cabin. We would be happy to show anyone that would like to see it.

It may take me a while before I find my way back on here, but I am always checking the FB page.

Please don't forget to list where our meet is going to be once onboard.

Excellent!!! I will add you to the ornament exchange

White Elephant Ornament Swap (TBD first Dis meet): Each participant will bring one wrapped Christmas ornament to our first Cruise Meet. The ornaments should cost no more than $20 and reflect where you are from, something about yourself, or Disney. In a random, predetermine order we will take turns choosing ornament. The first person opens a wrapped ornament and their turn ends. The second person then chooses whether to open a wrapped ornament or "steal" a previously opened ornament. If a person has his ornament stolen, he also has the option of choosing a wrapped ornament or stealing an unwrapped one. When a wrapped ornament is opened, the turn ends. When all gifts have been unwrapped, the swap ends.
