Getting So excited!!!!
Trying to confirm all our plans at the port, and trying to work out our plans when we arrive the day before and when we leave.

We are staying at the Hyatt night before we arrive at 4:30, but will feel like 1:30 to us. We will go to pool and look for other things to do.

After the cruise our flight does not leave until 7:30 pm. As of now we are taking DCL transportation back and getting a day room at the Hyatt. However would love to do something else. Trying to find a day room option near the port. Maybe on the beach. Any ideas? Or have any of you done WDW they day you leave?

Hi Ladies:
I am also traveling with an 11 year old boy who is going into 6th grade. On our last DCL cruise, he didn't want to go into the kids club at all, so I am hoping that meeting some new boys his age will help.

Although he is not into sports, he loves video games and technology.

What time are you checking in, maybe we can meet up.

Sounds like you are describing my son! He loves video games and technology too. Mine didnt want to go in last time either. Our port arrival time is 11:00-11:30.

Our port arrival time is 11:30 - 12:00. We will be getting there as close to 11:30 as possible.

Does anyone know if we are getting together on the first day? Can't wait to meet everyone.

Getting excited more every day as the cruise gets closer. Looks like the ship still has lots of empty cabins. This is our 4th Disney cruise... cruise way back in the day with the BIG RED BOAT but Disney doesn't count that even though it was a Disney cruise. We have traveled on the Magic and Wonder and are looking forward to seeing the brand new ship Fantasy. We are a party of 11 - our first big family cruise. We are traveling with:

Katie who will turn 11 3 weeks after the cruise
Jake who is 7
Justin will turn 6 3 weeks after the cruise
Brooke who is 5
Ethan who is 4

The little ones will do great in the kids club but hoping Katie will meet some girls her age to hang around with. She is going in the Edge but if she doesn't meet anyone she will be in the kids club with her brothers and cousins. Looking forward to the FE exchange. We are gathering items from SF to share with the list and making some other gifts. Lots of fun. Since it is my son and daughter in laws first Disney cruise I am working on their FE. I will have fun just sitting out by the pool relaxing - can't wait to sail pirate:

Wish our party of 3 were traveling with a group of family/friends! More people makes a trip much more fun :)

Hi Diane!

I have a 10 year old son (who turns 11 a few days after the cruise ends). We're hoping to get the "ok" on the ship for him to hang out in the "Edge" because he has no interest in the younger clubs. If he's given the ok, guest services will activate his KTTW card so that he can access the "Edge" floor via elevator. (Yes, it's accessible by stairs but that extra privilege is a big deal to him...)

What grades are your boys in? Mine is going into 6th.

Hi! My 12 y/o is going into 7th grade and my 10 y/o is going into 5th, he turns 11 on Oct 2nd, we are hoping to get him into the Edge as well! :goodvibes

Hi
just checking in here, Great to see so many new people joining

:cool1:

Weve had a few tough weeks ongoing at the moment with my MIL in the last stages of cancer:sad1:

We cant say whether or not we will be going on vacation for certain now, we supposed to leave on 11th august so we have a while to see what happens yet.

A facebook group is a good idea as its sometimes easier to recognise people on the cruise once youve seen a teeny tiny photo of them!! (also sometimes not as my profile pic is bruce springsteen who is almost certainly not on our cruise),,,:goodvibes

Bren:thumbsup2

I all for facebook , BUT I don't have an account. My company has a page not me personally. But please go ahead and do that. I think its a great idea.

It's ironic that you mention having a Facebook page. Just yesterday morning, I was reading a thread here on the DISboards regarding the use of Facebook for DIS meet groups. There were a variety of opinions. There are many pros and cons. All were VERY good points.

There were a few good points made. One in particular was that information (like meet times/dates) needs to be posted on both the DIS meet thread and the Facebook page. Not everyone uses or or wants to use Facebook. The most important thing to remember, when setting up a page, is to keep it a closed group and only accessible to the people going on our cruise. (And each person would be responsible to set their privacy settings according to their comfort level.)

That being said, I'd be happy to set up a page if a majority of us want to do this. Let me know what you all think.

So sorry to hear about your MIL. It's heartbreaking and sad to watch someone you love go through a serious illness.

I am so sorry and have no idea what this must be like. Sending you prayers.

6 weeks from today although part of our group leaves a week early for WDW. Getting closer!:cool1:

Sorry to hear about your MIL. Lost my mom 9 months ago and it is tough. One of the main reasons I am taking my kids and grandkids on this cruise is to spend some good time together and to make some lasting memories. I hope all goes well.

we rented a car and will do a one-way drop off at cape canaveral. Same thing for the way back. There's 5 of us and it's a lot cheaper than paying for disney transportation.

We are a family of 11 and will be staying prior to the cruise at the Disney's Port Orleans resort and I had orginally booked travel with Disney at $770.00 and then went looking for something on my own. I booked Royal Shuttle Service and transportation from the hotel to the ship and then from the ship to airport and it was $220.00 total. HUGE savings! If you want number let me know. They won all kinds of awards in Orlando and are backed by AAA.
