Disney Fantasy, August 18, 2012 - Western Caribbean

Has anyone checked lately to see how full our boat is? How do people know? Hoping its not too crowed. Been so so busy lately ,hoping everyone is great. Its been a long time in between my cruise and I can't totally figure out how the door magnets work. I put a request in a long time a go but never hear anything. And I could get my Mickey ears to print good. I forgot how it all works. Any help.

Just checking in to say hi to the newcomers and everybody.:wave2:

The FE is pretty large and as Im flying from the UK our luggage limit is not great :confused3 I have got a little something for each room but may not have enough space for something for everyone individually.:worried: Hope that okay with everyone.

From my past experience with FE this is perfectly fine and normally some do for a cabin and others do individual type things or groupings...young girls, young boys, tweens/teens, adults etc.

I wanted to update that I did speak to DCL regarding Rain Forest access for those with a spa treatment booked. The official answer I was given is that the two are separate as far as access and a spa treatment does not grant access to the Rain Forest areas. Granted, another CM could provide a different answer, but that is the one I was given. I did go ahead and purchase day passes over the phone.

Next I need to decide if I want to purchase photo credits prior to the cruise. I am leaning in this direction at this time. Anyone else buy the photo credits pre-cruise?

ALERT: I just want to make sure everyone doing the FE that Cruisebound has 3 girls - Nicole (12) Renee (12) and Erin (7)

That info got left off the PDF files. I tried to go in and add and save but I can't. I know they will be very sad if they are not included.

Tonya

My DH Greg is also on the list. I am more concerned about the girls.

Tonya,

Thanks for letting me know. I have updated it in the drop box, and will update it on the FB group when I get home.

I am flying in from NY, and am just doing stateroom gifts. People can chose to do whatever they please.

Hi all,

Just wanted to put the word out that my son Noah (age 8) is a Pokemon fanatic and will bring his deck if anyone wants to "battle" with him during the trip!

I Just read this to my son, Ray whose 8 and he is excited and will bring some of his pokeman cards.

I'm fine with a second list for the FE Exchange, I actually did something for everyone, a general gift for all ages and sexes.

As for the magnets, you can do them several ways, print a picture of your likling, and Staples, Office Max, ect. carry magnet paper or if you have a Xyron machine, you can buy a magnet roll and turn anything into a magnet thatway or you can buy those cheapie clear frames with the magnets and use those.

From what I can tell, I think there will be a lot of open rooms. As one who booked OGT, I've been watching the rooms available to book (i.e. ones you can actually select in a category) to see what might get assigned.

As of this past weekend, there were only 10 oceanview rooms. That's not a lot, however, if you look at the verandah rooms, my estimate has it over 200 available.

The process is not easy, I actually created a chart with each room that is listed in each of the verandah categories and then went on DCL's site and input every single room (exept 5A and 4A as there were too many rooms to go through - maybe by this weekend I'll do those). :faint: Anyhow, DCL only lists a maximum of 8 rooms when you go in to select a category, but you can enter all the other rooms. I know that 5E only had 1 room, 5672. For 5 B, C and D, and 4 B, C, D, and E, my count was well above 160, and that was NOT with the 4A's or 5A's like I said. But those alone add a minimum of 8 each, so another 16 bringing us to around 175 +/- for sure. I would have to think there is at least 25 more rooms between those two categories. Heck, there are a good number of 4E's for this Saturday's sailing.

So, it looks like we may not be as crowded as some cruises. I'm thinking a lot of people don't travel that late in summer and I think the FL kids are back in school by the time we sail. So if we figure 200 rooms with an average of 3 per room, we could be looking at sailing light by 600 passengers. Great, the line for the AquaDuck may only be an hour long. :rotfl:

I'll try to post tonight the amount of rooms in each category that I showed available (just double checked the 5 B-D and 4E's this weekend).

Good day all, I am very excited to go on this cruise. hope you meet some great people. This is my wife and I 2nd cruise. We went on the maiden Dream last cruise. My Daughter Addison is 2 and half and this is her first cruise. My in laws and brother in laws are also going on the ship for the 1st time. I hope they have a great time, they have been on canaveral twice and I keep telling them there is nothing like Disney! How do I get added to the FB list? :surf web: :wave2:

Tonya,

Thanks for letting me know. I have updated it in the drop box, and will update it on the FB group when I get home.

Thank You!

Everyone: If we divide into two FE groups - please let me know because I am working hard right now to make gifts for everyone. We are driving from Virginia and have room to bring them. I may just hand them out to everyone anyways.

My 8 year old Evan is also Pokemon fan and battles on DS - is that what you mean? Or do you mean with cards?

I looked at all the rooms I found before as well as all the 4A's and 5A's and the "unassigned" rooms total 313. The rooms available per category are as follows (with the total rooms in that category):

Cat 9C 1 avail
Cat 9B 8 avail
Cat 8C 2 avail
Cat 8B 1 avail

Cat 5E 1 avail
Cat 5D 15 avail (88 total)
Cat 5C 32 avail (82 total)
Cat 5B 35 avail (78 total)
Cat 5A 87 avail (170 total)

Cat 4E 16 avail (44 total)
Cat 4D 27 avail (63 total)
Cat 4C 25 avail (62 total)
Cat 4B 15 avail (60 total)
Cat 4A 50 avail (128 total)

Now what is not accounted for would be any rooms that are going to IGT, OGT and VGT. If there are 313 bookings in those categories, all the rooms will be gone.

The weird thing is that there are whole sections of several floors that do not have people in the rooms. Not 4 or 5 in a row, but 10+.

Maybe we will have a somewhat emptier ship. :thumbsup2

Does anybody know when the VGT's are allocated?? Previously Ive always just booked the catagory that we want and its driving me crazy checking the reservation three times a day...:rotfl:

The sun shone here in England yesterday for the first time this year, and Im now burnt as a crisp, note to self........ MUST remember sun block!!

Those 25 days will go by very quickly. Today in 4 weeks we'll be in Costa Maya. Saw the ship in Grand Cayman yesterday on the webcam.

Here is a thread that people have been using to post when they were assigned their "XGT" rooms. From what I've read, it looks like it will be around 14 days. Some got theirs at 12 (the Monday two weekends out from their cruise) as the people on the 8/4 Fantasy cruise did.

I'm hoping we'll get lucky and we'll see our slightly earlier given how many rooms are available on our sailing.

Hmmmm, I was thinking about asking at the port about upgrading to a 4B or 4A. With almost 40% of 4A's still open, maybe it won't cost an insane amount to upgrade? When I booked, a balcony was $1,000+ more than the 8C that I booked. I simply couldn't justify that much of a price difference. With almost 40% of 4A's still open, maybe it won't cost an insane amount to upgrade at port? I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Depending on how many passengers you entered while searching for open staterooms, all of these categories may or may not be open for a potential upgrade. I checked last evening for my family of 4 for currents availability and the available staterooms were much less then what is indicated in your post. I'm sure it will change many more times especially when the GTY assignments are given out. I will be thrilled though if the ship isn't sold out!
