Disney Fantasy 3 Night -- 2 days at Castaway Cay -- May 17, 2017 added

I also booked for two adults, within 24 hours of seeing it. A 7A at the time was a total of $1700 for two adults and they disappeared quickly, then one popped back in yesterday but of course the price had increased. At the time, the 7A was only like $20-$40 max more than an inside cabin. I'm really hoping I can keep this sailing and even if DH can't go with me (as we'd need to leave DS at home with my mom as he can't miss classes - already doing this in February for anniversary cruise), I hope I can get a friend to tag along.

I knew as soon as I saw it, it would sell pretty quickly :) Nice to see so many joining!

A 7A popped up this morning and I grabbed it. I ended up changing it to a 6B starboard instead, which was only $18 more. Neither was available when I originally booked. The availability is changing constantly. I'm so happy that I put I hold on it just in case. We've decided to go and got approval from work! I think this one will sell out within a matter of weeks.

Ha Ha - awesome :) I'll still keep checking and we have a portside cabin and almost always do starboard when there is CC involved but hey, I'm all about "research purposes" and it's fun to try things you haven't done before. :)

I should know this after 4 cruises... but what side is starboard and what side is port side? We booked 6560 I think on deck 6 - verandah.
We have always been assigned a room by DCL before and so I never paid attention.

From what I've read, Starboard is the right side of the ship. It's the side that will face Castaway Cay, I hope. I also booked deck 6.

Your cabin is a starboard cabin meaning when the ship is docked you'll be facing Castaway Cay - the island side, not the side where people are getting on/off the ship:) Starboard is right side and port is left side when you are facing the front of the ship.

Awesome thanks! This makes total sense now, we had cabin 8146 on the Fantasy in October and we faced the side where passengers get on and off the ship at CC.

There's an easy way to remember "starboard" and "port". The "port" side of the ship is the "left" side of the ship, both "port" and "left" have the same number of letters.

Wow glad we booked on the weekend, same category is over $350 more for the 3 of us now. That wouldn't be too bad on a 7 night cruise but on a 3 nighter it is.

Heather,

Which dates are you cruising in February ? We are doing a back to back 2/9 and 2/12, then jumping to the Magic for a run out of Miami.

Thank you to the OP for posting! I put a hold on two rooms when I saw the post on Saturday and paid the deposit today. The price has increased over 700.00 for the 2 rooms! I'm glad I booked when I did.

We are on the Wonder on 2/16 out of PC so we will be missing you it appears. I think I like your plans though! :)

Just checked out of curiosity and saw one CAT V room on deck 11 left. On opening day it was $2829 for 2 adults. It's up $150 to $2979. We are doing our first ever cruise on the Dream that week, so I keep checking back every so often to look at prices and which staterooms are available.

I just checked too and there's another Cat V also showing as available on 12 Starboard side. Price is now $3069, so it's steadily going up.

There appear to be many holds expiring without deposit. Too bad that all of this frenzy has driven prices higher. Difference between a Cat V and Cat T is under $600 for double the room.

Also, the prices have gone up! I booked a veranda stateroom on deck 7 and the price today is up $300 from my initial quote.

It was close to $400 more for my Obstructed OV

Nearly 25% jump in 2 days is crazy

Interesting thoughts /\. I Don't price out or monitor prices often on DCL, do the prices ever dip before final pmt?

Extremely rarely. On occasion, if a cruise isn't selling well, DCL will offer the last-minute restricted fares (after Paid in Full date, usually). These fares, while lower than the prevailing prices, do still tend to be higher than opening day prices.

I am booked on this cruise. Wonder if any chance the ship would dock backed in one day and forward in the other.

Typically the ship(s) dock by backing in. Only if there's necessary maintenance required on the starboard side, or if the port side lifeboats need a drill, will they go forward into the port.
