Disney Fantasy 3 Night -- 2 days at Castaway Cay -- May 17, 2017 added

I'm booked! I put my deposit down on the reservation I put a hold on! This will be my first Disney cruise!

Can someone please explain what a placeholder is? My TA can't book til Monday and I'm nervous we won't get the room we want. Can I book it myself and transfer?
I believe a "placeholder" refers to when you take a Disney cruise, you can reserve a future cruise while on board at a discount. You can then move your reservation to another cruise date with the discount.

I'm guessing you could transfer the reservation on Monday but I'm not 100% sure.

As mentioned, a "placeholder" is a reservation you make while onboard a cruise. It's not for a specific date/cruise, only a holder on the onboard booking perks that you can apply to whatever specific cruise you choose within 24 months.

I know, if you book onboard, and then transfer it to a TA later (must be done within 30 days), any perks that the TA might give you could be reduced. But, not sure if that's also true for a booking that you make yourself (not onboard) and then transfer. But, you can make the reservation yourself and transfer it to a TA, as long as you transfer it within 30 days.

Do they serve different food the second day you are on Castaway Cay? Is there different activities?

Didn't notice anything particularly different, but just one CC double-dip for us...thus far!

Read email from DIS today and jumped to book. Surprised pickings were rather slim since only released on Friday. :confused3

Decided to try a 9D, one of the limited OV porthole rooms in the bow for the extra space and some light for less than $15 more than an inside '

Now, everything is crossed my DH gets the time off work. We were @ WDW same time last year but after a cruise out of Puerto Rico on RCCL. Had to laugh, this one is more than we spent for an OV for a week on the southern itinerary; but as soon as the mr heard CC X2, he said: Happy Anniversary, book it.:flower1:

I'm really going to try to make this happen. The Fantasy is the only ship we haven't been on. I can't usually sail off season, so price is always a factor. I'm hoping I can pull of off this 3 nighter. 2 days at Castaway Cay sound amazing!

Based on current rates what does everybody think is the best deal as of this morning I was just thinking about doing at inside deluxe room but for a few dollars more it seems I can get an ocean view

However let's be honest I don't really plan on being in the room that much and this is a unique agenda I thought it might be kind of fun

Has Disney ever done anything like this before

Did you see my pics of 8502 and 8504 I had posted in another thread? We love the corner 9D rooms on the Fantasy/Dream.

No, will look for the thread, thanx. Those ones weren't available unfortunately when I booked.

Surprised when I checked just now to see some new cabins open up, maybe holds rolled off?

Now need to decide if I should stay on deck 6 or go with 7 or 8 :). Will tackle that search later.

Any opinions are welcome, all cabins same size.

I went ahead and booked it yesterday! I'm glad I did it because the website is saying Concierge is no longer available and we're splurging for an anniversary trip. So excited to get two days at CC not to mention experience Concierge for the first time!!

Also, the prices have gone up! I booked a veranda stateroom on deck 7 and the price today is up $300 from my initial quote.

Waiting to see how many early bookings are confirmed for this. Concierge was fully available early this morning and gone within 90 minutes. Don't think so!

What happens, if dry dock is delayed, and the first cruise after dry dock has to be cancelled? How early are you told? Does anyone have experience with that? Thanks!

Eek! I wanted to book next week on board but I'm worried it will go up more than the 10%, or it will be sold out.

The deluxe inside staterooms are now completely sold out and the mid-ship standard inside staterooms are sold out.

We're in :yay:

Had a short WDW trip scheduled for the end of April, moved it to the 4 days pre cruise. In response to the question about possible delay in dry dock, since we will be in WDW anyway, for us no worries, just extend WDW by 3 nights.

This will complete our Grand Slam. pixiedust:

Glad I booked yesterday. This morning the standard inside 11A is up to 837. It was 762 when i booked yesterday.

I also booked for two adults, within 24 hours of seeing it. A 7A at the time was a total of $1700 for two adults and they disappeared quickly, then one popped back in yesterday but of course the price had increased. At the time, the 7A was only like $20-$40 max more than an inside cabin. I'm really hoping I can keep this sailing and even if DH can't go with me (as we'd need to leave DS at home with my mom as he can't miss classes - already doing this in February for anniversary cruise), I hope I can get a friend to tag along.

I knew as soon as I saw it, it would sell pretty quickly :) Nice to see so many joining!

Just checked out of curiosity and saw one CAT V room on deck 11 left. On opening day it was $2829 for 2 adults. It's up $150 to $2979. We are doing our first ever cruise on the Dream that week, so I keep checking back every so often to look at prices and which staterooms are available.
