Disney fan about to convert.

Just a thought...I wonder how the BTGs (Brazilian Tour Groups) will affect stand by lines at WDW once FP+ is up and running? We know how bad they are now but all I can say is...it won't be pretty. :scared:

i hope the CM will enforce the fp lines when they all come.
no fp, no entrance to that line.

We are planning on jumping ship as well. We haven't gone to Disney this year and the only plans we have is staying offsite at a Hilton with some friends and checking out Universal. We have been there a couple of times before but now my DD is 12 she will enjoy it a lot more.

Disney has been rubbing me the wrong way for the last 5 years or so. Quality and Service have been on a constant decline while prices keep going up. Id rather spend my money elsewhere than to keep giving it to Disney to wait in long lines all day and get nickle and dimed for everything.

I think the number of converts is going to slowly increase over time. Just reading some of the threads on the Disney side of the DIS makes me shake my head and sigh that Disney management caused all this mess. Oh well...you can't pay me to step foot on Disney property now.

Welcome to the Darkside....Dsnymouse! :teeth:

I agree. It makes me sad to say it, but I am not happy with the changes at Disney.

It is no crime to want to see both.
No of course its not but with all the hassles and planning someone needs to do at Disney, Universal is a blessing. A vacation is supposed to be relaxing but at Disney...doesn't happen. I hope you visit both resorts and enjoy both resorts.

If we are in Orlando, we do both! I do agree with PP, while we love Disney, and it's our main reason to visit, it's never "relaxing". My kids call it Disney Boot Camp. Universal "seems" more relaxing. We stay on site, so no buses & express passes makes it easier to find free time to have a leisurely lunch, swim, or nap. We don't do that at Disney and we are happy with the go go go at Disney.

Hi!!! Thanks for starting this thread as I am in a very similiar situation :) never been to Universal and planning our 2cnd WDW trip this summer... But thinking of switching. My WDW trip is going to cost close to $5500 & that's at a Moderate. For less money we can stay at a US "deluxe"
It also seems like something my boys would enjoy maybe even more than WDW..

You are now entering the darkside.. Wow! Thank you for all the replies! I decided to split my stay between Disney and Universal. I am still so torn about My Magic+ but going to give it a shot. Taking your advice and staying on property at Universal.

Thanks! :)
