Disney families who have opened the Magic Kingdom!!!

My mom and I just got back from a two day trip, and we got the chance on our last day to open Magic Kingdom! We still can't believe that such a think happened to us! It's about time... We have been going since I was 3 years old.

Are there any families on this board who opened the park?

My family did back in 2004. The 4 of us were on line and we were asked by a CM to open the park. My children got such a kick out of it. My son was 8 and he unrolled the welcome banner at the end of the countdown. My 2 year old daughter stood next to him. When we were done, we all got to ride at the front of the monorail train with the conductor. It was really fun,and we have a certificate and some great pictures in our scrapbook to remember.....

That is SOOO cool!!!!! I am so jealous of all of the people who get that extra special pixie dust at the parks!! The closest I've come was once my son spent the ONLY pin money he had on a pin for his BFF and when I asked him if he's sure that's what he wanted to do the CM gave him a pin off his lanyard. That was pretty cool of him. CONGRATULATIONS on your piece of Disney magic!!!
