"Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has a long-standing history of honoring military personnel and their families, and today, we’re pleased to announce that we are extending our discounted theme park tickets and room rates for active military and spouses, retired military, National Guard and Reservists through September of 2012. This extension coincides with The Walt Disney Company’s participation in “Joining Forces,” an initiative launched by the White House to bring attention to the unique needs of America’s military families."

For the complete Disney Blog post.

You are very welcome. I know a lot of people appreciate this support from Disney.

I'm not sure that Disneyland ever, does not have a ticket deal for our military. But if anyone reads this and notices Shades of Green at WDW or DCL that they have't been able to try, I'd be extra happy about sharing it.

They don't always, at least not continuously. Shades of Green is always available at WDW but Disneyland has spans where they don't have anything going on. Before this $99 one started there was a bit of a lapse where Disneyland didn't have a special for military tickets, and our local bases Disney discounts are a complete joke (between $1.00 and $5.00 off, not even worth the time to drive to base lol!). I believe they always offer a 10% discount off of on-site hotels, but as you know that still makes hotels quite expensive!

Great news ! With the discounts extended I think for sure I will spend my 50th birthday at DLR with my parents (24 years in the Navy).

Can someone point me to where I can find the discounts for military? I went to the Disneyland website and didn't see any mention of such a discount for tickets. I did see a hotel discount. Is that what this is referring to?

Can the military tickets be purchased at the gate or only military ticket offices? I know at Disney World you can buy them at Guest Services so I wanted to see if I need to get one ordered or if I can wait till I get there?:confused3

For information regarding Disney 3-Day Military Promotional Tickets for admission to the Disneyland Resort (including official eligibility requirements, restrictions and black-out dates), or to make room reservations at the Disneyland Resort, military personnel may call (714) 956-6424 or participating U.S. military base ticket offices.

So what I did was call the above number and after listening to several different options, I finally got this number: 714-781-4400. I called this number and spoke to a CM who told me your only two options for purchasing these tickets is at your military office or at the gate. So yes, you can purchase them on-site. They do have blockout dates of April 17-23 where you cannot purchase them on-site. If you have already purchased them and plan to use them during this time frame, you may. They just are blocked from selling them during this time. Perhaps that's the local spring break?

Does anyone know, if the 6 ticket limit is still added onto next year, so only 6 tickets for the two years? Or are you allowed to go this year and then again next year? I couldn't find information on it, and was curious if anyone else had seen anything on it?

I was wondering the same thing. I forgot to ask when I called, though.

Oh no! I hadn't thought of that! We go every year, and I was thinking my dad could buy these again. But it kind of makes sense. Oh well. Thankful for the chance to use the great discount once...

The Disney Military Sales Dept. confirmed for me that the FY 11 (current offer) and the FY12 are separate. So if you use your 6 tickets during this offer you will still be eligible for the offer which will start after 1 October '11.

There are no more room discount blockouts dates for DL through the end of the current offer.

There ARE ticket blockouts for 1-4 July at DL theme parks.
