Disney Express with no park tickets?

We've booked Sequoia Lodge for four days, but decided that wasn't enough. We also booked Explorer for the day before (the Sunday) but we don't have park tickets.

Is it possible to book Disney Express and get our luggage dropped off at the Explorer on the Sunday and when we leave on the Thursday have our luggage taken to the train station from the Sequoia Lodge? I've been thinking that it would save so much time but not sure if this completely confuses things as we wouldn't have any park tickets.

Or, to complicate things even more, is it possible to buy park tickets for one day with Disney and then pick those up on the train?

I don't think you can get Disney Express to off site hotels, regardless of whether you have tickets or not. I might be wrong, but I'm sure this service only applies to on-site hotels.

Hopefully someone can confirm.
